We should do that railgun research after this. Railguns are basically muder at sufficient velocity, it'd be nice to get that on Tacit.

...it calls to the The Commodore!

[X] Obviously.
-[X] INAZUMA KICK!

I want to vote for the Inazuma Kick. So badly do I want to do this thing.

So I will. What's giant robot fights without some silliness?

What do you mean, sillyness? Inazuma Kick is a very serious technique that requires 6 months of hard training! Ain't you seen Gunbuster? :V

[X]Sword Stabby, Bad Kaiju!

There is a time for fun and silly things in a Giant Robo fight, but that time isn't when we are a Mark 1 vs a fresh Cat 3.

[X]Sword Stabby, Bad Kaiju!

We were just handed a free hit on a non-shit roll for the other guy. usually, that's so we have at least some chance in the upcoming murderfest. Let's not waste our opening.

What scares me the most is that the Kaiju tried to make the charge on 14 units distance. That means it either has some sort of boost to charge distance, or it's running 4 Agility minimum to have a chance of actually making the charge.

Oh fine. Can we at least have Asu...Amanda being hilariously hotblooded about stabbing the thing?

That was actually why I suggested Inazuma Kick—it's a jump-kick...

*shrug* Life goes on. So long as it doesn't for our enemies, it's all good.

What, mechanically, were you hoping for the Jump-Kick to do that would make it better?
*shaky hand* Not really, just the inspiration.
Ashley. Ashley Langley. And yes.

2x 1d10+4 for Cutting, and two 2d10 hit locations.
Rolling!

So, that's 19 on 4 and 9 on 17, right? Or is the exploding roll 15 on 4?
Ψυχή threw 3 10-faced dice. Reason: 2x 1d10+4 Total: 16
10 10 1 1 5 5
Ψυχή threw 4 10-faced dice. Reason: Hit Locations Total: 21
2 2 2 2 7 7 10 10

That would be 15 on 4. The attack bonus is added to the first d10 in each attack, not to every exploding dice too. That'd make crits even more ridiculous than they already are.

Eh, I'll take Psi's rolls.

[X]Sword Stabby, Bad Kaiju!
(15,9)

Ashley takes the lead, seizing the opening immediately.

Tacit Ronin accelerates forwards, and swings its massive blades around, tearing them through the kaiju's right side!

Pisces takes 10 Strikes! +6 Ongoing! Right Arm Destroyed! -3 Agility! -2 HtH, Dex! R. Arm Armour Destroyed! R. Ankle Armour Destroyed! Pisces is losing stamina! Pisces is On Fire! Pisc-

SE-26-016, "Pisces" Defeated!

Tacit Ronin comes to a halt a hundred meters after its target, arms raised in front of it. Behind it, Pisces lies on the ground, legs torn apart, one arm completely severed. The wounds are blackened and burnt shut, and Kaiju Blue sizzles off the red-hot fangblades. Vents pop out on the forearms, spraying down the weapons with vapourous coolant.

"So, LOCCENT... how long do you think it'll take to get us a jaeger of our own?"

Week 12: Combat End
Tacit Ronin's crew insists on walking back to base, after kicking Pisces' corpse a few times, and waving goodbye to the locals. Of course, on its return, the secret's out; Tacit wasn't piloted by its standard crew. However, it's easy enough to explain as giving the runners up a try with the mech. The thought that even people who weren't accepted to pilot the jaeger initially can defeat a kaiju that easily is an invigorating one, and-- alongside the saving of the outside community-- morale soars.

Additionally, the repeated cleanups are beginning to have a positive effect on the environment.

Morale jumps to Enthusiastic! +50% Manufacturing Bonus!
Environment jumps to Growing!

Of Pisces, there's not much that's impressive. The electrical discharge weapon has rather short range, comparable to Garm's plasma breath, and was likely a secondary weapon. In fact, the kaiju only barely classified as a Cat III to begin with!

Tacit Ronin suffered no harm, and the kaiju's wounds were burnt shut by the blades.

Pick your six actions

Folks, we've got so many good ideas floating around that I think sometimes we lose track of research ideas in the shuffle between downtimes. This is personally offensive to me. As such, I've started keeping a list of research ideas here for simpler perusal. I've opened up editing, and I'm sure I've missed stuff on my speed read back through the thread, so feel free to throw your suggestions onto the pile. I'd appreciate it if you stuck to the template I've included at the bottom of the doc, though, just to keep things clean.

In other news, who wants sushi? Because that fish just got turned into sashimi.

So six actions this upcoming downtime, hmm? Well, we've got a lot of research things available, obviously. Dexterity, Hand to Hand, and Ranged upgrades probably aren't a bad investment for Tacit right now, with Strength another possibility. I think we made noises about upgrading our Research Labs this turn as well, so that is probably a good plan.

I'm thinking we finish the Improved Kaiju Harvesting Techs, improve the Research Labs, and invest in at least one stat this downtime. I'd like to get Asu...Amelia and her partner a shiny new Jaeger to reward their fantastic job this last outing, but that is hilariously out of our current budgetary restrictions, and will remain so for a while, unless something changes drastically.

Rolling the d10s for healing our other Jægar pair!

Sweet!
Ψυχή threw 2 10-faced dice. Reason: Rise, so we may have 2 Jægar! Total: 16
7 7 9 9

for research, can we go straight to attaching railguns to helicopters, or do we need to build up to that?

Yeah, I really want to get Asu...Anna a Jeager.
Pencil it in for once we get Tacit something ranged?
