Yeah, without BS Magic tech beyond what we can even dream of right now, the idea is nothing more than a pipe dream.

And to be quite honest, the idea of trying to set up something like that kind of disturbs me just a little bit, even with Kaiju being the intended victims.
Why shouldn't they pay for what they have done to our people, our planet, and all life on this world? All the ills that currently plague the Earth currently (in game) can be laid squarely at the feet of the Kaiju and their masters. If the Kaiju hadn't risen, the UN would still be an organization devoted to peaceful coexistence with their fellow man, instead of an imperialist abomination that causes equal, if not greater damage to the world as the Kaiju themselves! They have poisoned our world and are created for the sole purpose of reducing humanity to extinction, so forgive me if I feel no empathy for these beasts. As far as I'm concerned, this war will not end unless either us or those monsters are wiped from existence, and if such causes them to suffer, I shall not lose any sleep due to how much we have suffered under their actions.

The QM explicitly said a "Kaiju slaughterhouse" would not only be extremely expensive to build and maintain, but have a notable, detrimental effect on our morale. Many, most, perhaps nearly all of our people would find it a bridge too far.

There is making war upon your enemy, and then there is causing atrocity upon your enemy.

One (war) can be defended (and is what we're doing now). The other....not as much.

And are not the Kaiju causing atrocity upon us?

I think the primary difference here is "Destroy the enemy" and "Destroy the enemy in an overly sadistic manner".
Yeah, pretty much.

Which is why I'm fine with us making war upon them (which includes killing Kaiju, closing Breaches, and even destroying Kaiju production facilities).

I'm saying that we don't need to escalate to the same level. We don't need to become the Kaiju and their Masters.
That would count as a Bad End, for reference.

You are proposing Yuri's Grinder.

You know, the wanker who bioengineered and mind controlled a lot of people?

No. Just no.

Also, the Anteverse could just, you know, use another Breach?

Say, you know you guys could... just have one jaeger punching, and the other one kicking, right? Just a thought.

Rolling rolling rolling yeah!

EDIT: On second thought, please someone roll Tacit. I get the feeling I'll roll a crit fail if I make the roll.

There's no contest now. Jagdhund rises up, before driving her fist into the kaiju's leg. The fist punches straight through the armour, snapping Texas's leg at the knee! Tacit Ronin seizes the opening, and slams its foot down on the kaiju's arm, shattering the joint with sheer force.

Texas takes 6 Strikes! -2 Agi! -1 HtH, -1 Dex! R. Ankle Armour destroyed! R. Shoulder Armour destroyed!

Texas shudders, before the pain overwhelms its nerves, and sends it into shock.

SE-26-040, "Texas" Defeated!

And like that, it's over.

And like that, it's over.

Well... not quite. A few of the council members have expressed a desire to save the kaiju's Secondary Brain. While the recent advancements in technology have made this possible, it'll take a chunk of the kaiju's ultimate value out in order to properly preserve it. The decision's up to them; save the brain, or keep the corpse.

[ ] Save the Brain! (Secondary Brain get, Texas only provides 700 Resources)
[ ] Brain no likey (Full resource gain from Texas, no Brain)

[X] Save the Brain! (Secondary Brain get, Texas only provides 700 Resources)

It'd be a waste not to save the brain after all the trouble we went through.

[X] Save the Brain! (Secondary Brain get, Texas only provides 700 Resources)

We did not get full of K-Blue only to throw the brain away.

Week 28: Combat End
[X] Save the Brain! (Secondary Brain get, Texas only provides 700 Resources)
The decision is made to save the Brain, and preserve it-- something K-Science is very happy with.

Kaiju Secondary Brain (Texas) added to inventory!

The two jaegers are set down in their bays, Tacit especially gently. The white jaeger's shoulder is badly damaged, and the supercomposite plate is deemed useless now. There will have to be a full reconstruction before Tacit is approved for return to duty.

Tacit Ronin will require an action, 1300 Resources, and a new piece of shoulder armour to repair.
Jagdhund will require an action and 50 Resources to repair.

The two kaiju, sans Texas's Secondary Brain, are brought in for a short examination before dismantling

Alaska seemed to be made to resist cutting and piercing attacks, which was why the fiery micro-missiles were able to down it. Other than that, the kaiju's limbs contained a series of what seem to be pile drivers, which could be used to induce localized seismic waves as a limited attack.

Texas seemed to be made to resist heat and blunt attacks particularly well, though clearly there was a limit to its armour's strength. Other than that, the things of interest are its rapidly firing shoulder turrets (which utilize some sort of bone projectile for ammunition, not unlike Waltz's cannons), and what's revealed to be an acid sprayer on its tail.

Overall, still a very standard kaiju attack.

Alaska
Class: Category III Kaiju
Built like a brick outhouse, Alaska is a big, multiarmed piece of nasty. A pair of horns jut from its skull, eyes recessed deep into their armoured sockets. The front two pair of limbs are smaller, clasped against its body, while another pair of arms act as forelegs. A pair of retractable spikes are mounted on the elbows of these larger limbs, as well as the ankles.

Texas
Class: Category III Kaiju
You don't want to mess with Texas. Like Alaska, the kaiju is built for durability, though it seems to focus in a different direction. Its hide is crisp and black, crackling with each movement. Its body is hunched over on all six limbs, with a pair of double-barreled cannons protruding out of its back on organic turrets. A single spike drives out from its arrow-shaped head, emerging just above its beaked maw. Its tail ends in another orifice, this one surrounded by bony spines.

Perks:

This second Shoot action must be made with its Tex Turrets, but does not suffer any penalties it would gain from being a second attack (all penalties from damage still apply as normal). Texas may not use this perk the round after it has already used it, for obvious reasons.

Well, it's better than last time. And it's higher than five.

So Noah's doing better. Still not piloting yet, though.
