[X] 100 Explosive Finish

I would like to pick Multi Boost because I'm always a fan of more Buffs for our Summons though going for Explosive Finish because it's cheaper and gets it out of the way.

[X] 300 Multi-Boost

The explosion from Explosive Finish gets exponentially more powerful the bigger the Partner, so outside of small Partner's the collateral damage seems like too much. Besides, we already have Explosive Summoning, so why bother? Let's get more Anchors, Contingencies, and Traits.

If we have any points at all, we can get Explosive Finish. This one we can get now, and since we need to get it twice, let's go on ahead and get it down to one so the list is cleaner....

[X] 100 Explosive Finish

By the way, what exactly is an 'Ether Cannon' in the context of Legion's Dimensional Adaptation supposed to be? A magic gun?

We have a tie at 6 votes each for Explosive Finish and Multi Boost so I'll be rolling a dice to determine which one it is.

On a 1 we got Explosive Finish, on a 2 Multi-Boost.

Edit: And the winner is Multi-Boost. Vote closed.

That's exactly it. It just meant that his M-98 Widow would function with Ether instead or Eezo or in addition off.

Hmm, how about.

Breakdown
Unwanted
Trash
Leftover
Every

A little awkward but it describes it well.
I like this one much better. You're good at that. I'll be using that one. Thanks very much.

Edit: Do you think we can cheat and change it to that? Breaker of Unwanted Trash and Leftovers in Every Room
zagan threw 1 2-faced dice. Reason: Tiebreaker Total: 2
2 2

I'm unsure. It's a little far-fetched. I would have liked it if it had included words within the vocabulary range of cleaning and robots.
Still, It's not too bad. I'll keep it in mind

Best Unit To Let Everyone Rest, a butler to let people not having to clean their offices so much

he is also the perfect platform for the Geth, as they can take a man in the chair role in helping the protectorate

I'm not fully satisfied with this chapter. But it does cover some important points. And we still haven't reached the scrying session yet. (Next chapter for sure). However, it was necessary. And some of the interactions with Legend aren't too bad. The result isn't the best but it does the job.

As I sat down I decided to not start with my plans for Gray Boy's bubble. Instead, I began with an amusing piece of knowledge gleaned from the Menagerie.

"By the way. You're wrong about one thing concerning B.U.T.L.E.R. Its name does have a meaning."

Legend's expression at my proclamation clearly shows his surprise. Even behind his mask, I could discern a raised eyebrow. "Do tell."

"Granted Hero cheated a little, he skipped the prepositions and conjunctions. But it is supposed to mean 'Breaker of Unwanted Trash and Leftover in Every Room.'"

He chuckled upon hearing that. "That's just like him." He sends me a grateful smile. "Thank you Compendium. Learning something new about my old friend is a great gift."

I smiled back. "I can also tell you that the way B.U.T.L.E.R levitates is based on scans taken from your power."

"Ha, yes I remember that. I spent a whole afternoon floating motionless in his lab as he waved progressively more bizarre scanners in my direction. I'm still convinced that half of them didn't do anything."

We shared a bout of laughter.

With the good mood that Legend was in I decided to continue this trend by continuing our previous conversation.

"Going back to the subject we were talking about before we got sidetracked with B.U.T.L.E.R, yesterday I discovered another excellent reason for me to travel through the States. I don't think it has reached your desk yet."

He shakes his head. "I haven't seen anything. I'm swamped with paperwork."

"Following tests done with Clockblocker's help. I'm confident that I can free Gray Boy's victims."

Legend remained silent, blinking as he processed my declaration. After a few seconds, he gathered himself and exclaimed. "That's fantastic news!"

I explained how it would work, the combination of my recent ability to transform people and the modifier that renders my partners immune to time-based effects. We had a brief diversion when Legend heard about the possibility of transforming people, and Parahuman in particular. He was greatly intrigued by the idea. We didn't have that much time before the arrival of the rest of the Triumvirate and I had other things I wished to discuss so I did my best to redirect the discussion.

Legend promised me that he would start organizing things as fast as possible. Medical personnel and psychologists would need to be present during the operation and also afterward. The families would need to be contacted. Security measures would need to be put in place. And all the while a fair amount of secrecy would be required. It couldn't stay secret for long but it would be helpful for the first few victims.

After that point, the public would clamor for the victims to be freed as fast as possible, which was understandable but may end up being counterproductive. In addition, some Thinker's analyses suggest that the victims had a high chance of triggering if freed. That was a very important factor to take into account.

All that discussion took longer than I liked, the time for our meeting was coming ever closer. Luckily Legend received a message saying that Alexandria would be late.

I said exactly that to Legend. "It's not a bad thing actually. There was something else that I wanted to talk about. Two things in fact."

"Go on." He gave me an encouraging smile.

I searched for the right words to use. "It's about the empowerment I've been doing."

Legend spoke up with a massive grin on his face. "It's working very well so far. Our new Lady Mecha right here, is setting up her lab and has already demonstrated her first mech for power testing."

"If I have time I intend to pay her a visit." And I could use that opportunity to give her a few more Mech Parts.

"I'm sure that she'll be happy to see you. But she's not the only one. Moa made a splash in Salt Lake City against Salt & Pepper. And Dragster is so much more effective now, she intercepted a drug shipment just yesterday."

"I'm glad to hear that." I hesitate. I nodded to myself. It wasn't something that I could keep to myself indefinitely. Well, I could but I would feel guilty. "I've gained another way to empower people."

"Another one? That's fantastic! You're the gift that kept on giving. How does it work?"

"That's where it gets tricky. It's at the same time simpler and more complicated than what I'm currently doing. I don't need to give the recipient any of my partners, so it's not limited by that factor. But it does take longer and it's gradual. We'll need to vet the candidates even more strictly."

Legend listened patiently as I spoke.

As concisely as possible I explained what Nimue was and how her class system worked. I didn't dwell on the details, that could come later. However I emphasize the permanency of the power granted, that more delving could improve or grant new powers, and most importantly I insisted upon the danger. Yes, Nimue could resurrect the victims but that wouldn't remove the psychological impact and beyond the first time it wouldn't be free.

Legend listened attentively as I spoke. Even though he attempted to hide it, I could see him progressively growing more excited at the prospect the more details I gave. He nearly interrupts me when I mention the possibility of producing more healers.

"So it could eventually produce a lot of new heroes but it will take time. Ideally, we would wait until the volunteers reached a high enough level to have some solid powers before unveiling them as heroes. Questions may be asked if they later return to the Dungeon and gain new powers."

Legend nodded along as I spoke. "And as much as I liked only to recruit in-house we may also want to expand the pool of candidates. It may get noticed if a lot of PRT employees suddenly get powers. I have some contact in the armies. Firefighters perhaps?"

I listened to his musing with half an ear. The Menagerie just gave me a new power. Or more specifically a new instance of an old power, Multi-Boost. I could now use each of my Boosts on two more partners. That would certainly come in handy. It means more Relay, more Anchors, and more Maintained.

My attention returned to Legend when he asked me a question. "And you said that Parahuman could also benefit from this?"

"Absolutely. They'll even get access to unique classes linked to their powers."

"Hm, I wonder what I would get?" I didn't have an answer for him. Despite all the knowledge I possessed about Dungeon Core, the class system itself remained very mysterious even to me.

"That I can't tell you. I would be curious to know. Certainly, something to do with lasers. But considering your sheer strength in that area you may wish to consider something more generic but that would give you more versatility."

He didn't look convinced. "Maybe."

I shrugged. it would be his decision in the end.

"Well, you certainly give me plenty of work. But for that sort of result, I don't mind." The leader of the Protectorate looked to be in an excellent mood. Considering the multiple good news I gave him, it was warranted. And I wasn't quite finished.

I glanced at the clock on the wall. Hopefully, it won't take too long.

"The last point I wish to discuss is less world-changing than the previous ones."

"Considering what you already told me I would certainly hope so." His tone of voice showed his amusement clearly.

"I acquired some time ago a power that I didn't include in my reports. The ability to travel to the Dimensions that my partners came from."

Legend appeared impressed by that declaration. I then saw him pause, considering something.

"Could you go to Earth Aleph for example?"

I shook my head. "Not likely. Even if I picked a perfectly normal animal like a mole I could land on any random alternate Earth among the infinite variations that exist."

He frowned. Was he hoping that I could visit Earth Aleph for some reason? "And can you take passengers?"

I grimaced. "Mostly no, but a little bit yes. Only those who received a partner from me. And even then they need to touch me during the transfer, even with some tricky gymnastics that sharply limit the number of people I can take with me."

"I see, I see." He looked thoughtful at that. "Any other limitations?"

"One last thing, yes. I can only use it once per month. I can return prematurely if needed but that doesn't shorten the time necessary before the next available jump."

It was his turn to grimace at that. "That complicated thing. Having you gone for so long…" He trailed off but I could connect the dot. If I wasn't there I couldn't empower more people. Various Villain groups would use that opportunity to act up. And worse if an Endbringer attack I couldn't participate.

"What were you hoping to accomplish by traveling to other Dimensions?"

That was a good question. A very good question even. And one that I didn't delve on much. Thinking about it there was one thing that could be very advantageous.

"Mainly, it would be a way for me to gain more partners and have much more control on which partners I could gain. I don't have complete pictures of the worlds that my partners came from but a number of them include some very strong beings. You've seen Zilla." I probably wouldn't be my first choice but it was a potent example. Other options called to me much more. I knew for a fact that the dimension my Pokemons came from was full of powerful creatures. The world that my Grimoire came from already gave me plenty of magical resources. What else could there be?

"That's a fair point." He looked contemplative.

We were interrupted by a chirping sound coming from his desk.

Legend glanced at his computer screen. "They're here. We shouldn't keep them waiting. We'll talk about that another time."

He got up and I moved to follow him. It was time to search for Nilbog.

Wordcount: 1722
Excess words: 519

It took longer than planned but in the next chapter, we'll be finding out what happened to Nilbog.

For the roll, 090 (Banked) + 120 (Chapter) + 120 (Excess words) = 330 points.

For some reason I have to imagine all 3 of the Triumverate are going to use Nimue to gain an edge
It would be convenient for Eidolon to be able to build up some base powers so he doesn't have to drain down his parahuman powers for minor tasks, or to free up a slot for something he doesn't need to dedicate to base abilities anymore. Like if he got a tank build he wouldn't need to use a slot for survivability brute powers, or if he got some flying abilities then he doesn't need to use a slot for flying powers, or if he got a variety of magic then he could just lean on that instead of using a major overkill power and wasting charge while dealing with a mugger or something.

And few people would question Eidolon doing new things.

Honestly the dungeon is something I'm most excited about to get other people in, personally I wouldn't put it past Eidolon to just go for a luck changer or gambler class if he gets it to abuse the results of his power rolls.

Not to mention what it'll do for people with more mono-focused powers to increase their options. Personally wanna see who in our team will go first and what they'll pick.

The difficulty experienced in a Dungeon delve is also a factor in the "exp" received, though. For powerful Capes like the Triumvirate it may be a while before they can truly gain a Class much less a high level.

Jumping directly into the Twilight Forest is an interesting thought. The Mod is meant to be at least partly a linear progression but with the way Dimensional Travel works Alex would end up in the Lich's Castle before defeating the Naga. Although personally, I think Terraria or the Dungeon Core world are better first picks even if I want to see Alex in Minecraft.

I wonder how Cauldron would react when we use Dimensional Travel and that they wouldnt be able to reach us with door maker.

Worlds beyond the reach of entities and shards...
