i will change it then

[X] 0 Bonus Theme (Wepons) + Custom Theon/Parasite (400)

Pen
Skin
Transmutation

I'm going to also change the transmutation pen into a skin one, since that is supposed to come with regeneration, at least for skin

if the way it's worded means we can only manipulate what the parasite is made of we are still in the positive as a lower that lets us manipulate leather It's going to be invaluable when we get to tinkering, fuse small pieces of leather, harden, soften, change it, bind it, split it

it has many uses:
  • self regeneration (even if only skin)
  • leather manipulation (we do have many types of magical leathers)
  • sutures made of people's skins (wound closure)
  • self camouflage
  • skin color change
  • scar removal
  • burn removal
  • skin condition removal
  • tattoo manipulation
  • an extra thumb (I think a long finger may be useful if we can manipulate and bend it)
  • Writing instrument
  • stinger, if we ever receive poison of some kind
Here's the important thing to note even if it is too late now: the Parasite replaces or takes the chosen body part. You don't get to have the Parasite and the body part at the same time. If we made a pen based skin Parasite, the entirety of our bodies skin would become pen themed while it is summoned, and I predict our digits would likely change outright to functionally be pens.

And yeah, we... pretty much missed out on being able to build an entire creature with whatever abilities we wanted/needed from the ground up wholesale, for an ability that would basically only have any use whatsoever if we fought Bitch.

... I voted for thematics...

We have Hunter, Trainer, Veterinary, Zoology AND the BeastMaster class.

A Calm Animals aura seems pretty appropriate XD

Is the MC able to tell when multiple creatures come from the same verse? For example, would he know that Buoy and Sombra come from the same universe based on their energy or something?

Despite the fact that this chapter was already halfway written it was a pain to get out. I just couldn't get in the right mindset. Still, I hope you enjoy it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we reappeared inside Arcadia's cafeteria the situation didn't appear to have changed. Everyone present was still in a euphoric state, oblivious to the outside world. Touching Hug myself helped a little with my mood but I was too angry for it to calm me completely. The image of Pegase with his flank open was still at the forefront of my mind.

I left them like that for a little longer while I grouped all the gang members in a corner. The urge to kick them while they were down was strong but I resisted. I left Clank to guard them and finally end the effect of The Big on Hug, the card floating back to me. The Slime returned to its normal size, coalescing right next to me. He could clearly feel my mood because he kept a pseudopod around my arm. It helped slightly. Absently I noticed that all the sweets that were previously on the tables had mysteriously disappeared.

People started returning to reality, so I clapped my hand loudly to attract their attention.

"Hello, everyone! I'm Compendium from the Protectorate. I apologize for the method I used but it was the only way to ensure your security. The euphoric feelings should fade slowly."

Changing the subject rapidly, I gestured behind me.

"As you can see your aggressor has been neutralized. You're safe. They can't hurt you anymore." Hearing some protest from the prisoner I turned around to glare at them. They quiet down real fast after that.

Transforming my eyes into plasma certainly helped.

Returning my attention to the student and teacher I smiled.

"See, harmless." I forced out a laugh that I hoped didn't sound too fake. Pretty sure I failed but I didn't care much.

Still, my improvised speech appeared to work and they visibly calmed down and started talking with each other. I saw Glory Girl waving in my direction however Panacea was still looking a little lost.

"You may be wondering what's happening. I do not have all the information but I know that the Empire is currently conducting attacks on multiple locations in town. This is the last-ditch effort of a dying gang to remain relevant."

That declaration provoked some consternation and before they could start to panic I clapped my hand again and continued.

"Please, calm down! The Protectorate and the PRT are responding to the situation and you are all safe here. I will ask you all to remain here for the duration of this crisis. The members of New Wave that are present can protect you now that they are aware of the threat." I nodded toward Glory Girl, Panacea, and Shielder. "And I will leave one of my partners behind before leaving myself."

Learning that I would leave upset some of them, clamoring for me to stay. But I stayed firm on that point. I was immensely thankful for the few lessons in communication I was forced to undergo when I joined the Protectorate. Without that, I certainly wouldn't have been able to handle this situation.

Once they settled down I moved to talk to the director, waving toward the New Wave members to signal that I would come back to see them afterward. As I walked I was showered in thanks by the student. I responded with a nod and smile, trying desperately to hide my still simmering anger.

One of my minds came back from the Mental Realm at that moment.

I have some news. First off, Pegase and Thorne are fine, Pegase is a little shaken but that's all. A visit from Hug and he'll be right as rain. On a different subject, Automatron got some info about their attackers, but not a lot. A few seconds after we entered the school a black van entered the courtyard, stopped, and made a U-turn as if it had just taken a wrong turn. But as soon as the back of the van was facing in their direction the backdoor opened and three armed men opened fire. He couldn't tell me what happened afterward because he was killed immediately.

My head was silent for a moment while all my Minds digested that.

That wasn't an attack of opportunity, that was planned. They attacked as soon as we left./A sort of elite team sent by Kaiser to keep track of us and weaken us?/If so it means he's aware of our 24h limitations./We did find a few spies recently, he may very well be aware of it./We'll need to be even more careful going forward.

When I reached the director I returned my attention to the real world while my Minds continued to debate that point.

"Compendium I can't thank you enough. You saved us all, I shudder to imagine what they would have done to us. Truly you have my gratitude."

I did my best to respond graciously. "Just doing my job. Could you tell me what exactly happened?"

He explained what happened while I gave a round of healing to those that needed it. At some point, the gang members somehow managed to enter the school without alerting anyone. Just after the lunch bell sounded they made their move. Trapping all those that were in the cafeteria and rounding out everyone else in the school, including himself and the professor. He only had time to sound the silent alarm before being ejected from his office.
"They said that we would serve as insurance and that they wouldn't hurt us as long as nobody tried anything."

He pointed toward the woman I was treating.

"My secretary tried to escape discreetly but she was caught and was beaten as an example. And when I asked if Panacea could be allowed to help her, they refused."

That didn't surprise me one bit, gang members like that couldn't be seen making any kind of concession.

While that explains a few things it didn't help me move forward. couldn't stay here for long because the Empire was still attacking other locations.

I thanked the director for his help and walked toward the New Wave group. When Glory Girl saw me approaching she waved in my direction. Panacea was looking fixedly at Hug and Shielder was hugging a girl, presumably his girlfriend.

Before I could place a word the Alexandria-lite spoke up with her usual enthusiasm.

"Damn, that was awesome! Your partner paralyzed the whole room. And the feeling! I've never felt so relaxed in my life."

She looked at Hug, still holding onto me.

"What's its name?"

Despite the fact that we had things to discuss, I chose to humor her. I knew that if I didn't she wouldn't leave me alone.

"Its name is Hug. Because it gives the best hugs. I'm not good with names."

That got a laugh out of her and it did lift my spirit a little.

"Anyway, I need to talk to you. I can't stay, the Empire is still attacking at least four more locations, and people might be dying right now. I want you three to stay here, to protect the school, and to keep watch on those guys."

"No! We can help! You can't sideline us! And anyway you can't order us around."

Glory Girl's fierce glare lanced through me and while I couldn't feel it I was sure that she was flaring her aura considering the reaction of those around me.

I shake my head. "I promise you I'm not trying to sideline you. The school needs to be protected and the Wards can't do it without risking their identities."

I lowered my voice and leaned toward her. "There's something that I didn't mention earlier. Before making my move I left a few of my partners in front of the school to guard it. They were brutally murdered while I was busy securing the gang members."

Her eyes widened at that and she immediately calmed down.

"I'm afraid that they'll come back. While I will be leaving someone here when I go, I can't spare more than one partner. You really need to stay here."

She gave me a shaky nod.

"And if you can communicate with the Wards discreetly, even better. If by chance Clockblocker just happens to lean against a door and freeze it…" I didn't finish my phrases letting her fill in the blank.

The idea seems to appeal to her and she grinned.

"Anyway, I want to present to you the partner that I will leave here." Mentally I scrolled through my list of partners, looking for one that would be fit for the job. I need one that was PR friendly, small enough to be able to maneuver indoors, and strong enough to make a difference.

Slowly a smile formed on my face. Yes, she would be ideal here.

"In fact, you already know her." Without further ado, I summoned my little sister anchored to the cafeteria.

"Aylamon is here, ready to roll." She looked around her in awe. "So many people…"

"Aylamon please focus. I have an important job for you."

She gave me a mocking salute, despite my mood it made me smile a little. I saw Panacea giggle at that, despite previous events she seemed to be in a much better mood than the last time I saw her.

"The Empire is on the move. So I want you to stay here and help Glory Girl, Panacea, and Shielder protect everyone. And you need to follow their lead, okay?"

She nodded firmly.

"Excellent" I nodded to the two sisters. "I'll have a quick talk with the gang members and then I need to go. I already spent too long here."

With one last goodbye, I moved toward the prisoners.

The results of my interrogation were disappointing. They didn't know anything. Oh, they certainly tried to bluster and pretend like they were all trusted lieutenants working directly for Kaiser. But The Libra allowed me to cut through their bullshit easily enough. At best they were trusted flunkie, smart enough to not go gun blazing in a school. When I mentioned the attack on my partners outside they all looked so surprised that it was clear they were ignorant on that point too. Clearly, Kaiser only told them what they needed to know, no more no less. It was frustrating but I couldn't do anything about that.

With my business here concluded it was time to move on. Olky teleported us outside.

As I was trying to decide where to go, I felt a strange sensation coming from the Menagerie, a sort of hiccup as if it tried to give me something, failed, and then give me something else. Weird but I didn't have time to focus on that and instead I looked at my new power.

Calming Aura was surprisingly weak coming from the Menagerie, I now emitted an aura affecting animals that prevent them from panicking or becoming enraged. Nice I suppose but extremely situational.

That didn't change my problem. Where to go now?

Edit: since some people are rooting for particular things, I think I'll go for a Guyver Unit... since we have debt and it's a critter we can go on ahead and get that. That might make us a weeee bit harder for the Empire to kill.

Hm Brockton General is probably the best place to go. As it is... any thing Kaiser tries is going to end up with his head on a block. Or in a shark's mouth.

I think a Creature might be in order. We need to ensure we still have allies to throw at them if they keep trying this bullshit 'snipe the partners' tactic.

...And Zagan? I'd love it so much to hear what was going on in Panacea's head right now. Amy must be very happy indeed. Also wanting more Hug.

Not sure in spot but we have enough points for 3x summon which can take them off guard since they would need to take out each summon 3 times to lock us out for the day. Also armor summoning at 200 points would help us a lot.

We have a ton of creatures to pull out even with them sniping. More than we can have out at one time thanks to getting a 100 pointer from each category thanks to a power roll

I count over 90 summons that we currently have.

Edit
Looking at powers only 3 cost more than 600. Also we have 2 summon boosters, a 600 point to summon each creature 3 times a day and a 500 point that when we summon a creature that is 20 meters or less we can summon 3 of them which applies to a lot of our summons. Both do a lot to add to our numbers.

Edit 2 actually over 100 since some are listed separately
