Spyro's Kingdom (Legend of Spyro Crossover)

Huh, figured throwing more money at "Guards for the Guardians" would help. Mean, they not only have to recruit people who are either experts or masters, but also have to train them up for the role.

So more money should allow for securing better resources for training, and more money means swaying better candidates into actually agreeing. After all, there's a gold requirement for each turn, so I figured the money was being used for training them & getting the best.
Clarity will already be picking the best of the best. This isn't something that throwing more money at will help much. And... Oh that's suppose to say upkeep. Actually I think I'll cut the upkeep in half. 100 is pretty steep just for paying body-guards and providing them with stuff.

Huh, neat Shadow Dragon plan. I'm curious: why Umbra rather than Lyseera?

Questions for @Nianque
I was checking over the character docs, and realized: is Virii's Scholar trait being factored in? Just a heads-up.
Also, our Income should be 2950 per turn, -750 upkeep. Is there a hundred flat disappearing into some noble's pocket we don't know about?

@Box Lunch: Mostly because I'm unsure what we'll get hanging with Lyseera. Yeah learning Smoke or Blood would be nice, but I'm mostly going with Umbra because he asked Spyro to train himself. What better than literally getting Umbra to help us?

I will say that, if Umbra hadn't spoken up, I would of either went with Water or go all-in with Lyseera bonding. Really want us to get Water eventually so Spyro & Cynder have all 9 Avalar Elements at their command.

I hadn't actually considered we might be able to learn elements before shaping them into the constitution of Avalar. I'm up for looking into that later! :D
Learning them first will make it easier to add them to Avalar at a later date.

If you're training shadow and spending time with Lyseera, she'll help you out. If you weren't training any element in particular, you'd probably get progress in smoke, though I'd roll dice to decide. This being said... Cynder is actually better than Lyseera when it comes to shadow as the mahjarrat spent all her time learning smoke instead and has a very low threshold for smoke paragon as a result.

Uh... Hang on and I'll double check the income stuff. As for scholar... Shoot did I forget to add a trait to her?

Edit: Whoops!

Upon double-checking the coffers, Glacies has realized that not only was a noble pocketing 100 gold, but she also forgot to account for the gold going to the new education district. Both of these oversights have now been corrected and the noble in question is being interrogated by Umbra's Shadows

((I uh... Found two separate issues and they're both fixed. Also if anyone has suggestions for the different departments (military, diplo, intrigue, admin, and research), feel free to post them.))

After shadow training, we should get fire to master and unlock Cynder's electricity, as she could get a leg up with her at 99 progress already in it.

I suggest fire after shadow as we had done some training already for it.

Given that Cynder does only need 1 Electricity point, we could just save that for after Spyro get Fire Master. Better to go all-in, and that way Cynder ends up a Fire Adept/Expert once Spyro gains Fire Master.

Mean, a good roll for Spyro training on his own is about 190, and between solo training & special conditions (Cynder + Zephyr + Wind Nexus) Spyro became a Wind Expert after a few turns.

So going all-in for Elemental Training... should take us 2-3 Turns with good rolls for Spyro to get Ice/Electricity/Wind to Master. So Grandmaster would be like 4-5 Turns with ideal rolls? Hmm...

Course, given Cynder does literally only need 1 Electricity point, I figure Nianque could be convinced to give her that 1 point if an Omake was made- either having her experiment a little, or hanging out with an important Electricity dragon.

Mean, literally 1 point, so narratively she's already super close to unlocking Electricity User. Maybe someone could do an Omake having her hang out with Fulmen?

I'm thinking the Fulmen Omake would of started with him being introduced to Spyro & Cynder. From there, I see them wanting him to show off how well he can fight, so they know how much work he'll need to protect himself. Thus narratively, Electricity finally clicks seeing it used in a spar.

I of course couldn't write this, since I'm terrible at writing other people's characters.

Even if you are bad at writing existing characters, you can still make up your own to use in omakes. If I like them enough they might even become notable or important.

Hmm... could you elaborate more regarding this approach? Easier if I have some idea of what is preferred, and don't really want to put in effort on something you'll just dismiss (embarrassment sucks).

The Electric Cyclone returns?

You did make the literally only other Omake... is that something you're actually considering? Yeah, I could see Cynder trying out the Electric Cyclone once she gets that 1 last point in Electricity. Though I think Nianque has to decide if a Canon Omake lets Cynder have that last point.

I was going to try and update my omake, as it was done on the phone while I was in bed.

I could try to do another one. I was sort of being silly and suggesting the Cyclone Spyro made was like a boomerang, sailing off and then coming back.
Cynder making one of her own makes much more sense.

So long as it does not contradict canon you're fine. If you want scene suggestions though:

That poison dragon who ended up being poisoned at the nexus and dealing with the fact it was fairly well known. (That embarressment!)
Likewise fear dragons fleeing in terror from the fear nexus or any other dragon getting overwhelmed by their own element at a nexus.
Or how about a group of young dragons stumbles across the Room of Slithering Shadows (creepy name for boggart room pending).
Any slice of life involving Warfang or another settlement would be awesome too.

Man I really wish I had played the other two Spyro games to know what some of this stuff is. I have only ever owned and played "A New Beginning"

@Nianque: How do the Humans and Centaurs living on Avalar view the Avalarian Dragons? Also, have any Dragon soldiers visited the settlement recently? Hmm... What's the youngest a Dragon soldier or squire can be.

Besides that, how well-known is Galena? Like has she interacted with other kids yet, and so on. Only thing really established is that she's free-spirited and rambunctious, so making an Omake for her should be possible.

Lots of bewilderment at how this massive killing machines they have heard stories about (the ones from gielinor) are friendly. Also very confused regarding how much reverance is put toward elements of all things. That said there has definitely been a positive impression thus far and it's easier to relate to the dragons compared to the nomadic aviansie that were never seen all that often. Though the centaur do connect with the better aviansie as a result of that.

There's the occasional dragon soldier visiting and friendships have definitely started forming in the army between all races. Squires are typically about 13 and after their element has first manifested. Youngest soldier... No younger than 16.

For Galena she's had some exposure with other whelps, though she is watched from afar to make sure she stay safe. I'll leave the details to omakes. :)

@Nianque: Has Galena tapped into her Wind Element yet at all? Or is she strictly just a hyperactive flier so far? Also, besides Spyro & Cynder, who would watch over Galena?

Not yet. Everyone expects her to manifest her element earlier than most, though not before she turns 10.

Typically Sparx (not that he can keep up with her especially at his age) or close friends such as Hunter, the Guardians, and a handful of other people both dragon and not whom they trust. There is a mysterious number of people who are totally not some of Umbra's spies volunteering as well. In fact Umbra has been championing a dedicated group of dragons to guard Spyro and family, though everyone says he is being paranoid about it.

A Team Unlike Any Other
A Team Unlike Any Other

In a spot about two miles Northwest of Reliquia, a horde of dreadwings have made a nest. While direct attacks against the well hidden community where nonexistent, this still caused problems for the underground Dragons as they are now competing for food, as well as the fact dreadwings have little hesitation against attacking any Dragon they come across. They would just send their solders to take care of them, but with the Hyrule Portal under their care, their numbers are stretched thin. Luckily, they had just the right people to take care of it.

The nest was surrounded by thick foliage to keep intruders away, and four dreadwings keeping watch. Out of the corner of one's eye, the beast thought it saw something move. When it turns it's head to find it, it's neck is impaled from the other way with a knife-like tail spike attached to a pitch black Dragon, with a dark purple underbelly and wings.

Another watcher, failing to hear the sound of pierced flesh, had a bolt shot in it's eye, hitting the brain and killing it instantly. The marksman responsible for this is a camouflaged Atlawas, quite a distance away, wielding a crossbow with a scope.

Taking this as a cue, a third figure, a Cheetah, came in with a metal bat and, with hard to track speeds, whacks the side of it with a sickening crack.

"Bonk!" he yelled. Now with all pretenses of stealth behind them, the final lookout was blown into giblets by an explosive launched by, oddly enough, an Ape with an eyepatch. This blew away the cover the remaining dreadwings of the nest were using of that side, but on another side, the foliage was incinerated by a Dragon. It was a Fire Dragon no doubt, but their red body was covered up with armor and their body proportions could make them out to be male or female.

"No mercy!" yelled a Skavenger with two swords. As the canine charged with this battle cry, the last members of this odd team dropped in. One was an absolutely massive Earth Dragon, with a dark green underbelly and wings, but the most striking feature about him was that his light green colored back was covered with naturally occurring jade armor.

The other dragon with him was a Poison Dragon with a very light green scales with a white underside. There are also patterns of red scales on his hide that looks like a plus sign. On his back is a Mole in armor with a handheld crossbow.

And so the slaughter begins. The dreadwings who dared to make their home so close to Dragon owned lands were shot, burned, beaten, cut, and blown to kingdom come.

When the fighting was over with, the odd team went back to the underground civilization of Reliquia to get their payment and to drink at their hangout.

Skavenger was laughing mad, "Finally! It's been too long since we had this much fun! I was starting to miss the days were we where being hunted by that Purple Pansy's armies!"

"Speak for yourselves, dude!" the Cheetah yelled, the claw marks on his arm, while having been treated by the Poison Dragon, still sting.

"I agree with Soldier. Things too quiet. Only action going on now is at portals. Not much work for us mercenaries," spoke the large Earth Dragon.

The Atlawas Sniper pitched in, "Give it time. As long as people disagree with each other, we'll always have a job to do."

"But people aren't disagreeing with each other. Every one is holding paws and singing kumbaya. The only ones challenging that narrative are the Moles who left Warfang, and they essentially closed themselves off from the world," the Shadow Dragon pointed out.

"Least they were smart enough to wait for the war to be over with before packing," remarked the Mole, "Besides, now that things are quiet I can work on my gadgets without being bothered."

"Easy for you to say," remarked the Ape of the team, downing a bottle of strong liquor, "You know how to do things other then fighting. Even if they look past the fact my kin joined the Dark Lord, Warfang's army has a strict policy of letting former soldiers of fortune joining. Honorable code my-"

"That may no longer be the case," the Shadow Dragon butted in, "I've been busy gathering information on what's happening on that side of the world and I think I found us a way to make gold. The portal near Warfang has a lot more potential enemies then I first thought. Bandosians, Mahjaraats, Demons, the list goes on. And from my understanding, the new Purple Dragon and Cynder-"

"Wait! Cynder!? The Purple Pansy's right paw Dragoness?!" The Skavenger demanded.

"...No, it's different Dragoness, they just share the same name," lied the Spy.

"Oh. Sorry about that, go on," the canine apologized.

"Anyways, from my understanding, the new Purple Dragon and Cynder are much more open to new ideas then the code following drakes in the past. I propose we try our luck with them, as this place won't let us near a mile of the Hyrule Portal."

All the members took a some time to think this over, then the Soldier voiced his vote first, "If there are enemies who want to take our innocent pups' livelihood beyond the violation of time and space that everyone calls a portal, I'm in!"

"I'll go. My wallet is getting close to the red to turn this down," said the Sniper.

"Oh, more races to expe-, err, study. That is what I meant," Medic said.

"Can you not dissect the new people we want to meet?" questioned the Cheetah Scout.

"I make no promises."

"Can't be any worse then here," said the DemoApe.

"Well, I want to meet back up with the Cheetah babes I had to leave behind. Seriously, separating myself from them was worse then anything Malefor could have ever hope to do, and I have to make up for I it."

"Didn't you say that if Persus ever saw your face again, he'll chop your head off?"

"Eh, I'm sure he's cooled down by now. Trust me, things will be fine between us."

"Well, it would be nice to get the chance to see how a portal works up close. Count me in!" the Mole Engineer voted, "What do you say Pyro?"

The armored Dragon looked back and forth between their teammate before giving the closest thing a Dragon can give to a thumbs up.

"Well, that just leaves you, Heavy," remarked Spy.

Unlike the others, who are all eager to jump at the potential opportunity, the Earth Dragon known as Heavy was deep in thought.

"If I leave, I leave my sisters and mother behind a second time. I do not want that."

"Yea, but this time you know that they'll be okay! Come on, big guy, don't leave us hanging."

"...I will speak to them first, then I will go."

"Then it's settled. Tomorrow, we go to the capitol."

Honestly, I've had the idea of an Avalar version of TF2 in my head for some time now. Hopefully this is at least serviceable. I don't make Omakes often.

A Team Unlike Any Other
Well that was definitely different. Pretty fun omake in general though... A few problems with canon considering that apes are probably extinct, the atlawas are pretty much confined to Warfang until their numbers replenish and the scavengers? Well no problems there, though there are no large concentrations of them like the other races. That said, there's no reason this couldn't be canon at a later date.

I'll go ahead and earmark this for +5 to an action regarding the Gielinor portal. Though it's up to you for what exactly you want to use it on.

Thanks. As for the problems you pointed out, I hinted at it with Scout that most of these people are, for one reason or another, outcasts and are largely not involved with the rest of their kind.

As for +5, I'll save that for later.
