I had a terrible thought. What if instead of the Entente powers showing up at the future peace conference with the Imperial League to pressure us into being less harsh on the Imperial League as everyone seems to expect, the Entente allows a harsh peace treaty go through for a few months before threatening war against a tired Germany if we do not cede half of Poland back to Russia and undo some of the other treaty provisions in order to "preserve the balance of power"? It would be far more humiliating for Germany and its allies to be forced to undo parts of the previous treaty with the Imperial League than if the peace treaty was moderated by the Entente powers at the first talks.

This is inspired by the replacement of the Treaty of San Stefano with the Treaty of Berlin a few months later forcing half of Bulgaria back into Ottoman control after the Russo-Turkish War of 1877 or the Triple Intervention by Russia, Germany, and France against Japan after the First Sino-Japanese War forcing Japan to return the Liaodong Peninsula to China who then granted it to Russia.

Rejecting Greek and Serbian entry is morally bankrupt and totally betraying the foundations of a German Republic formed on the principles of nationalism. It's imposing modern left wing views on the views of left wing people of the 19th century. The anti-nationalism of the socialist movement would not have developed if German nationalism had stayed as a left wing movement rather than be replaced by Prussian style German nationalism. It really smacks of questers bias against Serbs really.

Also we just did diplomacy to let off the monarchial Scandinavians easy, not to mention our arrangements with the bourgeois Entente, so let's cut the 'b-b-but they're monarchies!!!'. We've worked and compromised with more decadent nations (hell, a fair few of us voted to negotiate with Russia) so let's not pull purity now.

They're the exact same plan except that Advance has an offensive against Zagreb and Fuck Russia fortifies on the Austrian front instead. Which one of those you want to do depends on how much of a threat you think there is from a League counteroffensive in Austria.

If you think it's likely that they'll launch an offensive next turn with the help of Bulgaria, Romania, and Montenegro that could dislodge us from Vienna (or if you just want to be absolutely sure it won't work if they try it), pick Fuck Russia. If you don't think that's a likely outcome, or don't think it would be a threat if they did, pick Advance.
