On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

The great advantage of the indestructible solid adamant dragon shaped gronti isn't as a static defender, for which a dwarf shaped gronti works almost as well, it's about it's amazing power projection capabilities. This has the side benefit of being an amazing touring advertisement for Khazagar.

Keeping it as a guard rather than sending it out continually attacking enemies of the dwarves would be a waste, as it would spend almost all its time doing nothing and being completely unproductive.

And Snorri is all about productivity.

oooooh.....SNORRI IS GOING TO BE RICHER! Why? What is usually near gromril? Warpstone! And Snorri can now see the winds which will probably emanate from them, so he can much more easily locate warpstone deposits and therefore the nearby gromril deposits as well!

Don't forget that with Windsight, we can advance through alchemy at record speed! The income from all the new discoveries and inventions (and possible guild) will make him even richer.

Snorri will need to create a bigger vault just to hold all of his new gold! He was starting to become only ludicrously wealthy instead of unimaginably wealthy from the costs of running Khazagar.

Unfortunately, while Gromril is near Warpstone, not all Warpstone is near Gromril.

Yet Warpstone can be of other uses.

Since it is the pure physical form of magic, it has many properties that could be exploited. I theorize that it could be stabilized or separated into power stones for use as a fuel in creating the next tier of metal. We'd really need to focus on alchemical runes to do it though.

One day, when we release windsight or Gromril to the public, I hope Snorri does it in his usual extremely, ridiculously, thorough fashion that meanders through the entire research chain that led to him finally succeeding. Why? Because the sheer breath of the path he took and the chain of random events and unintended consequences that followed would leave even the oldest Runelords going wtf if the full story came out.

In no particular order:
-Brute forced gromril chain in one go, didn't think it counted so didn't tell anyone and invented a better method instead.
-Came back a few decades later and obsoleted that method to prepare for Khazagar
--This was the third most important achievement of that decade
-Was given a clue by his literal Ancestor and sat on it for a century because he was too busy
--Ends up cheesing multiple trials because he invented an out of context cheat code that said Ancestor never managed and gets KKR in one go
-Khazagar exists because he got tired of people sleeping in their storage spaces
-Beating up a troll started a sequence of events that lead to inventing prosthetics and a rune trade that opened the door to elven magic lore
-Said magic lore lead to the creation of an entire new field of magic use and a path to ending the Consternation
--Still not the most important achievement of that decade
-Learned new languages just to understand magic better, too busy with multiple mythical projects to finish learning
-Yeeted an unknown reagent into a mythical creation working at a place of power while mainlining more magic than any runesmith before him and almost blew himself up for it
--Manifested the glittering realm and can't remember it
--Bound an elemental to his armor despite being there to make a banner and not knowing that was even an option
-Said creation proceeds to eat 3 lizard cities and obtain mysterious loot and dragon eggs
--Loot is ignored for centuries because gromril armor piercing swords aren't interesting enough to make time for
-Invented windsight thanks to multiple research paths coalescing at the right time
--Didn't drop everything to finish it and left it for a century because he needed to build the first rhuniversity first
-Eggs are hatched on a whim because he went mad from the strain of building Khazagar
-Nuclear reactor that likes to pretend it's armor decides to conduct a ritual while finishing Khazagar even though dwarfs aren't supposed to be able to do that
--Somehow doesn't explode, no one's completely sure what happened, opens Khazagar anyway, great success
-Ignores the hammer of his Ancestor because he is too busy inventing windsight and figuring out how to animate the GDP of several holds in the shape of a dragon
--Power concerns? Nah just mainline another storm and and stuff enough power into it until it's no longer a problem
--Finally remembers the brotherhood's request a century late and makes time for it now to refresh his memory before the next storm
-Overbuilds Khazagar to a ludicrous degree, still runs out of space when he comes back with KKR
--Still hasn't revealed windsight, glimril, or akazit

warpstone is not the physical form of magic, it is at worst the physical form of pure warp energy.

or at best, it's the physical solid form of Dhar. and you can't seperate dhar into winds, it's one of the main reasons its such a problem, once it goes dhar it permanently poisons the land in a way that can only be dealt with by moving it elsewhere. and it's not certain that warpstone is a kind of dhar powerstone, it's likely in fact that it isn't one. since it can do things normal power stones can't, like not detonate when ground into powder. or, you know, form naturally. well... as natural a process as the giant moon made of the stuff being launched out of the polar gate can be considered.

also we are not skaven, using the fantasy plutonium is not smart. it is actively evil, and wants to turn anyone near it evil.

and i do mean 'wants to' just like the winds have wills and desires of their own, dhar and warp energy has enough of a will and mind to be considered malicious in a way no mindless thing can be.

i wonder....rune of flashback/memory, his eyes were still open at that time, could he relive the memory of the forging and witness the glittering realm?

TBF he did dissociate from the process since by the end he was a slime in armor and somehow forced his Rune-smith Talent to literally erupt.

he may have dissociate and not really remember the event, but the memory, the record of his sight, of what he was seeing, hearing, feeling, would still have been recorded in his mind. just like how you did see a lot more than you remember, but you consciously cannot remember it, but can if helped along with use of mental technique or hypnosis.

WTF I don't remember this?!?! Was the Glittering Realm him manifesting all those elementals during the forging of the Storm?
Its this. Right near the very end.

A circle of fire combusts around the foot of the Anvil, growing and shrinking in tune with the rapid pulses of energy that are dredged up from below. The floor and walls of the Anvil chamber slowly morphs, showing flashes as first but then longer and longer vignettes of a glittering world; a cavern so large and grand that it stretches beyond the horizon, its ceiling so high as to be obscured by clouds of metallic mist, megalithic spires and columns of gemstones glow with energy, lighting up the dark to reveal seams of ore and jewels larger than buildings, rivers of gold and other precious metals flow in channels wide enough to engulf entire holds, particles of gems, gold and silver glint and float through the air like motes of dust in such numbers that it appears as if the air sparkles. So great is the concentration of energy that the veil between reality and the Realm of Thought and Emotion is more a sheer curtain of silk.

C-ch-chant, remember, endure.

The Runelord can see none of the splendour, cannot hear the melodious tunes that echo from around and below him, nor feel the heat around him. His body is literally cracking and breaking apart, a failing dam at last buckling beneath the awesome weight of the water it held back.

As Bungie said it came right after. Technically he manifested 3 realms - chamon, aqshy, and then the glittering realm. And I have a theory that the reason Skarren came out so volcanic is because MGrungni ended up using parts of the chamon and aqshy elementals as reagents in addition to the oathgold. The rest ended up forming Mhorni but enough entered the rune to change MGrungni from pure thunderstorms to an ashstorm.

...
I don't know what you mean by "manifested 3 realms".
He attracted two types of Elemental. And seems to have connected to the Glittering Realm.
He can't have manifested an Aqshy realm because that won't exist until Age of Sigmar.
I suppose it's more fair to say he tore a hole to a battleground between the two elementals. I'm not opposed to their being wind elemental plains in the warp even now. It's certainly better than it being mostly all Chaos.
