Please don't, having the Chadmar be related to such a turbo loser like Emps would retroactively decrease his cool factor by at least a hundred. Like, imagine needing to use psyker powers to appear as a giant golden man instead of being 100% natural Imperial manliness, talk about insecurity am I right ladies :V

He's bounced the quest off me, it seems fun, I'd enjoy playing it.
Of course, I've been basically internally screaming "DO FROM A DEAD WORLD BEFORE THAT" every time it's brought up.
Thankfully, xan seems to agree.
Oh, I most certainly do. Only thing stopping me from running FADW 2.0, Back to Backstab is my own awareness of my inability to run more than one major project at a time. Right now, at least.

having everything tied to the emperor ends up cheapen out every achievement

instead of ''sigmar the bad ass who ascended because his sheer acomplishments and skills'' you get ''another primarch''

it would be nice to be the surprise for the emperor and chaos gods, rather than the other way around

Eyup. They can't simply allow themselves to ... to end when they die. The Plan is not yet complete, and there is much work still to do. The Interstice will suffice for the time being.

This is also why you'll (eventually) be able to manually reconstruct the souls of those slann who died in ways that didn't allow them to be preserved as Relic Priests. Even those that had their souls literally torn apart, eaten, and shat out by hordes of daemons. They still bear the marks of the Old Ones, and the work is not yet done.

recycling broken souls be like:

Names and Deeds of the Slann
I've been meaning to get to this for a while - here's a list of every slann that's ever been named in my updates, along with what they did in said updates. Might expand it later to include every named lizardman, but that'd take a while so it's just this for now.

At least one of those Slanns on vacation amid the stars had better come back with a spaceship!
Iirc they all went in search for the old ones but also had different specific interests they would invetiably refine the use of in their journey.

You know a thought occurs to me, if we find the hrud, their entropic arua would only make us stronger, and that we could man the old one shard they have.

I like how different Slann seem to have different personalities and interests.

Mahultep seems to have an interest in xeno lifeforms such as the Orks and Ayacmanik.
- Hextlohca: Worked with Kroq'Gar to develop Hexoatl's new defense plans (Turn 2). Worked again with the ancient saurus during the campaigns against Skarstuf Blitzrippa and Gardakka Worldhamma (Turns 10 & 11).
Hextlohca has a more militaristic mindset, planning defenses with Kroq'Gar and spending two full turns fighting the Orks.
- Chuqa-Xi: Pioneered the practice of lobotomizing human captives to use as slave workforce in Lustria. Proposed placing the Chains of Fog upon the Ayacmanik (Turn 8).
And Chuqa-Xi seems to have a weird obsession with enslaving things.
- Krepacl (Relic Priest): Told a story for the first time, about his mentor Blotbova (Turn 6). Died protecting a large number of young skink priests and their accompanying forces from an Ork assault that had pinned them down (Turn 10).
I think I like Krepacl's story most of all. He was saved by the sacrifice of a mage many times his senior, and he sacrificed himself to save mages many times his junior. Its a very nice bookend.

I might actually go back and write this section at some point - I only just thought of it today, but it's a good parallel. Also good omake bait if anyone feels like taking it up.

Wish that the senior Slann's body had been recovered so his junior could tell him what he was inspired to do by his sacrifice.

Slann wouldn't have a God. It's not in their nature.
Personal Theological Assistant for Sublime Communion, on the other hand, is a well-appreciated position. Even if said PTA is being run ragged often.
