I changed this up a bit because I wanted to mix things up a bit. Rather than persue a path of magic, I want to at least put some elevators on our space elevator, and I pull Kroq-Gar off combat in favor of getting him to let us poke his arm some more.

I'm gonna keep voting open until Saturday, since my week's pretty much chock-full, even if I'd ideally like to close it earlier since people seem relatively decided.

[X] Plan Lizards Can Into Space

Relic Priests are cool and all but we have better things to focus on. Honestly, we should start researching the Great Plan at some point even if it's only a few hundred slannpower at a time.

If I'd run this quest over again I'd have made studying the Plan a mandatory commitment, and probably also cut down the initial cost of it (and just split it up across more stages). Sadly, can't turn back the clock, but it's something to note for the future.

Consult the Relic Priests isn't the same as working on resurrecting the Relic Priests - it's just using their doubled slaanpower to complete certain projects faster.

And then, after this vote is decided, we have another month of waiting for the next story post. Oh well. At least Zor on SpaceBattles will be posting the next chapter of Infrastructure fairly soon-ish. And I have a few things to catch up on as well, so it's not all bad.

You absolutely could cut it up into more stages right now if you wanted. If there were preliminary short stages I think people would be more willing to throw them in alongside the more conventional R&D stuff.

As it is, we have a megaproject with a very clear goal (slann spawning/slann resurrection) that sucks a lot of the spare slannpower out of the room for Great Plan studies, even though it seems pretty likely that 'realistically' the slann would care at least as much about the Great Plan than they do about reproducing and replicating their own kind.

One alternative to 'cutting down the initial cost' is to give the slann credit for the tens of thousands of slann-years spent contemplating the great plan and disperse a bunch of unripe progress in the form of ???? progress for each stage, I suppose.

You know what I just realized? There are probably other warp gods still around right now. As in, gods more like those in Fantasy, like Sigmar. Not many, given Chaos's rapid rise to power at this point, but the Four, or Three, don't gain all but total control over the warp until after the Birth of Slaanesh and death of the Elder Pantheon, so there should still be some racial/religious gods hanging around that could be allied with. Sorry if this point has been brought up already, but I thought it might be relevant given were going to be entering the interstellar age in a bit.

I think we talked about planning to use those gods of races we vassalize as a "minor pantheon" to OUR gods

Interfacing with alien gods as well as their followers is definitely gonna be a feature of the Age of Strife arc.
