Renascence: A Homura Quest

Honorifics or Western-style Titles? I've used both before, which is bothersomely inconsistent

Couldnt this be taken really badly by Kyoko? she`s in a fragile state right now so while we may not mean any bad she may still feel bad.

Hitomi: Girls can't love girls!
Mimi: *eye twitch* Then your fate is sealed!
Hitomi: Ahh!!
*insert gory violence and death here*

-[X] Order ice cream.

Think we should use the opportunity to tell Nanoha and Sayaka about the origin of witches?

Eh... Perhaps. I was trying to word it to not explicitly refer to the specific matters over a Kyuubey network, so it ended up a bit vague. Have a suggestion for a better phrasing? Or a difference in exactly what we'd want to convey?

Alternatively, trust her entirely, or go in with Mami. Dunno.

@Higure - Threadmark reminder.

Hmm. I really don't want to interfere, there. Kyouko was trying to reconcile with Mami, and this is certainly a touchstone for the two of them. At the same time, Mami + Witch = Bad End.

Of course, given what we know about Kyouko's situation, it's very easy to see her being upset on the normal side that Mami would recognize, without even needing to drag in the witch side of things. Heck, it's not impossible that that is what she is upset about.

If she is upset about the deliberate witch potential, this will at least warn her. If she's not, it just makes it a topic she doesn't try to broach with Mami. Mostly, I just want to trust Kyouko, and not try to handhold everyone all the way through this.

I think the problem has been pointed out - and I feel it is far too logical to ask of someone as upset as Kyouko.

But moreover, I don't agree with either argument - I don't like the idea that it's somehow interfering if we go with Mami, and I especially disagree that going after her consists of untrusting handholding. In fact, I think that specifically bringing it up as a warning over telepathy is not trusting her, in a very literal sense.

Let me put it this way instead:
Kyouko is our friend. She needs us, so we should be there for her.

And that is literally it. It isn't our actions that show trust - it's why we do them.

-[x]Let Mami take the lead but don't hang back; make sure you're at Kyouko's side or holding her hand or whatever you need to do to communicate your support.

Say, one other thing. If Kyubey affected Kyouko's father's mind... that means that her dad didn't really think she was an evil witch after all. Possibly?

Definitely not. Even if we did stick around, there's no way in the X number of minutes we'd have in that scenario to both lay out the facts and convey the need to keep those facts from Mami. It would also cause a semi-permanent rift between the meguca and non-meguca in the group, as we all know that, at best, witchbombing Mami is fraught with peril and not something we're going to be able to do for a long time, if ever. As such, I'm not sure it's ever going to be a good idea to witchbomb anyone else, with the possible exception of Sayaka, and even then only very carefully.

Man, I just realized how long we've gone in this Homura quest and haven't even really interacted with Madoka. How weird is that?

Not Higure, obviously, but really, not everything needs to be an Incubator's fault. If the Incubators could easily, reliably manipulate human emotions on a global scale, then there's no reason at all for Earth to exist: the Incubators would have already built Matrix-esque human/meguca farms on space stations throughout the galaxy, maybe the universe, using cloned/interbred humans in pods. They have to still be missing enough about humanity to make that kind of strategy non-viable, and it's certainly not our science, technology or biology that stymies them.

In this case, all it'd take is negative action on QB's part though.

You know that Kyouko brought Mami here to be witchbombed, right?
Kyouko pipes up, "...I haven't told her about, you know, yet. Figured I'd wait until you got here."

Mami glances at her, pursing her lips, and then looks back at you, "...explain. I didn't expect to reunite with Kyouko after all this time...but I certainly didn't expect her to be so obtuse about something. What are you here for? What could possibly make Kyouko..."

We deflect to Walpurgisnacht, but that wasn't why Kyouko reached out to Mami, not the whole story anyway.

Trying to play riskless like that will just get us burned. Witchbombing Mami didn't affect her in canon until Sayaka witched in front of her. Yes, she didn't believe it at first, but so what? No, she didn't snap until she was in an awful situation emotionally.

Now may be a bad time specifically, but "never" is an awful idea.

You guys have a good plan but forgot the most important part

Ice cream is probably not really available without raiding the kitchens

Edit to make what we say less abrupt and hopefully convey companionship instead of criticism.
