It's really too bad Homura doesn't have a mommento of Kyouko's. If she did, I would recommend giving it to her via time stop shenanigans, then letting Mami comfort her the rest of the way. That way, she can help Kyouko feel better, make talk of witches less likely (although that all seems somewhat unlikely at the moment), and still let them talk alone.
Maybe a poem? Does Homura know her well enough to know a poem that she could be certain works? Any thoughts on one that might do the trick? Or would randomly making food appear be more her cup of tea.
Just saying, the choice between staying or going is a false ditchotomy; we can come up with any number of other solutions.

-[x]Let Mami take the lead but don't hang back; make sure you're at Kyouko's side or holding her hand or whatever you need to do to communicate your support.

You gently shake her off, "No. She's my friend too."

You don't give Mami a chance to protest, heading after the redhead without hesitation. The blond locks up for a second, trying to figure out how to respond, before following.

You find Kyouko vomiting into a toilet, looking utterly disheveled. You think she would be crying, if she weren't so busy being sick...as it is, she leans back against the side of the stall after a moment and pulls her legs up against her chest. She wipes her mouth on her sleeve, burying her face in her knees and sobbing.

You wish you'd never seen this before...but that would be a lie. Every time Sayaka Witches...you shudder, remembering some of the things you've seen this girl driven to.

Mami looks at you pleadingly, clearly no better equipped for this than you are...and you, for all of your experience, are still no expert on comforting a distraught Kyouko. Half the time, these kinds of things end with you pulling spears out of your chest.

As it is, though, you steel yourself, taking a step into the room. Kyouko jerks at the sound, looking up and spotting the pair of you. She looks away, trying to scowl around tears, "What, you never seen a girl get sick before? Blame the restaurant...probably didn't clean their shrimp right."

You let Mami approach first, but follow after, sitting down beside her. Mami takes a seat on the opposite side of the stall, looking at Kyouko. Leaning forward, she gently shifts Kyouko's head to face her, "Kyouko...I'm so sorry. To think that Kyubey could have..."

She trails off, grimacing, "...I can't...I don't know what to say, except that I'm here for you."

Kyouko just shudders, pulling away, "...don't. I...you...please, don't suffer too. I'm strong enough to take it. Just...let me get myself together, and..."

You slap her on the back of the head, and she turns to snarl at you, "Hey, what the fuck, Ribbons?! I thought we were-!"

"-friends? So did I...so stop trying to interfere with that. This is our job, and you don't get to fire us. Now pick a shoulder and talk it out, alright?"

That might have been a bit harsh, you suppose, but you can only be delicate about these things so many times before you lose your patience for it...besides, a bit of anger isn't bad, in this kind of situation. Especially with Kyouko...the trick is to not turn it into a bloodbath. Oh, you always walk away best friends, but surviving it to do so...you've been forced to loop a few times by Kyouko's Shounen-esque bonding methods.

That shouldn't happen with miss ribbons around, though...as long as she doesn't start shooting people. Mami's a great friend, while she's got it together, but once she snaps...you've lost a few Madokas to that girl over the years.

Ignoring the momentary urge to crush a certain yellow gemstone, you try to focus on Kyouko for the moment.

To Be Continued...

Kyubey did nothing to Kyouko's father's mind because it felt that doing nothing to his mind would increase the likelihood of Kyouko becoming a Witch more quickly.
Hmm .... *shrug*

"Do not run from danger, Homura. You will fail if you cling to safety and avoid the unknown. If you wish to emerge victorious, you must risk life, limb, and sanity...you have too little time left to proceed cautiously."

This has something to do with Dark Souls.
Among other things. Dark Souls has some very interesting things to say, if you contemplate it deeply...that said, it's not the primary source of wisdom for that line.

This has some sort of relation to Jason and the Argonauts.
It could, depending on the reader, but it wasn't a purposeful reference.

Red Truths are only guaranteed to be true at the time they are given, with time in this case being relative to the players of Renascence.

If Homura crushed her Soul Gem upon waking, she would die.

It is possible that Kiritsugu Emiya exists somewhere in Homura's family tree.
Kiritsugu Emiya is not meaningfully related to Homura Akemi in this universe.

The PMMM concept of a soul and the MGLN concept of a linker core are related, or at least similar.
The Soul and Linker Core are related.

There is a thematic connection or significance behind Homura having a relative from a franchise that is not PMMM.

It is theoretically possible for an insane Incubator to form a contract by making a wish.
Incubator's are unable to form a Contract as a Magus for reasons of anatomy. It would take more than insanity to change that.

Homura has experienced contact with Eldritch entities in anomlus time lines other then the witches. This means any witch like entities other than Walpurgisnatch that are on the same level of strange as a witch or higher outside of a barrier.
Homura has never encountered any non-Witch Eldritch Horrors (as defined above), excepting things born of her own mind (such as dreams or hallucinations).

Homura has interacted with Nu-13. Or Writ. Or Gilgamesh.
Homura has interacted with none of the above at present.

The truth about the lack of magical girl stories is that the "magical girl" is a cultural construction. What would have been a magical girl in older times was perceived differently: miracle workers, saints, sorceresses, perhaps legends like nymphs or dryads, and witches although obviously the term meant something different then.
Magical girls have been perceived as many things, historically...all of the above, and more.

Living things cannot survive travelling in Homura's shield.
Living things, by justinkal's definition (possessing Sentience, Sapience, and a Soul), cannot survive traveling in Homura's shield. Living things, as defined by yourself (biologically alive by the medical standard for that organism) can survive traveling in Homura's shield.

Mundane humans and Puella Magi are alive. In some cases, an entity without any form of physical body, such as an intelligent ghost, can be considered alive. An entity that cannot be classified as "organism" can be classified as "living". Plants and simple organisms, such as bacteria, are not alive.

A perfectly cast Giga Slave would defeat Walpurgisnacht.

It is possible for Homura to get a clockwork tank suit.

Incubators do not have souls.

The Golden Ending will not be achieved by turning the Incubators into cats.

Bleach is obsesed with cat Homura needs a lot of hugs Madoka hugs restore Sanity

Homura has encountered non-Witch Eldritch Horrors (as defined above) born of her own mind which have been neither dreams nor hallucinations. It is possible for the Gnosis or the Noise to appear in this quest.

In the period mentioned above, Homura inadvertently helped Sayaka Miki, Kyouko Sakura, Mami Tomoe, or Madoka Kaname with their problems because of her demeanor or activities.

Homura at some point in the past went through the 4 stages of time travel at least once.

There has been at least one loop where Homura decided to just try to romance Makoda and get her to run away her with.

The incredibly hostile entity known as "Faust" may or may not appear at some point to haunt Homura.

Do to the nature of her wish, Mami when in single combat against an enemy can not be defeated by any method other than witching

Information regarding at least one such encounter is contained within one or more locked Memory Access Files.

The Kyubey and/or Incubators in this loop know/suspect the cause of the weakening of the multiversal barriers (or whatever it is that has caused the crossover elements of the Quest.

Weird. Too bad we can't figure out the root cause of this glitch (how to reproduce it), seems like the kind of thing that the admins might want to know about so that it can be fixed.
Next time you run into this problem, switch to the BBcode editor mode and you can find the problem to show others. I'm pretty sure it's a broken tag that's invisible in the smart editor.

Kyouko growls for a moment...before the sound dies off to become a faint whimper, which is soon wiped away by a hollow-sounding chuckle, 'Heh...yeah, you're creepy, Ribbons. No offense...but, yeah. Real creepy. That said..."

She throws herself across the stall, wrapping her arms around Mami as she begins to weep on her shoulder. Mami pats her gently on the back, staring at you in shock, as if to ask how the hell you did that. You shrug.

After a minute of sobbing, Kyouko leans back, looking incredibly embarassed, "...that never happened. 'Kay, you two?!"

You nod, and Mami smothers a chuckle behind her hand before nodding.

Grunting in satisfaction, Kyouko nods, "Good. Sorry...just realized that the little white morsel could have erased...uh..." She looks at you, pausing for a moment, before continuing, "...my father's memory. If he had...ah, listen, Ribbons. My father snapped and killed everyone, alright!?" Her gaze seems to unfocus as she says that, likely trying to keep her mind away from recalling the details.

"If Kyubey had just done his job, nothing would have happened. He'd have forgotten about my magic, and my sister would be..."

She seems about to loser herself again, so you swiftly grip her hand, and she snaps out of it, looking at you before nodding in thanks, "You get the picture. Considering what happens if we lose it, though...I can't help but think that he might have..."

"...what happens if we lose it? What are you...?"

Mami is visibly confused, and you can see a hint of panic building up behind her eyes.

How do you answer?
