I think that we need to stall things at least for an update if we want to escape. Otherwise, there are good chances we are going to endanger both Sayaka and Madoka.

Also, we may be in the right position to grab Oriko if we want to.

Uhh, what does Kirika do again? Also holy shit be just pinned a transformed MG as a bog standard human.

[X] Grab Oriko. Try to always have her between yourself and the other girl.
-[X] March in the direction of the anomaly, but try to not give to the entrance all of your back. You want to avoid the possibility of Oriko simply kicking you into it at the last moment.
[X] "So, Oriko, have you ever seen yourself saving the world? How much is you just guessing?"

From what we can observe, they are just normal girls with weird dresses and normal, even if weird, weapons. And this may be enough to let us fight on the same level of them.

So, we probably aren't a bog standard human. Or, at least, not at the moment.

I advocate for a scene in which Yumi points out that these girls are basically fetuses, what with their under-developed brains, and like coerced into an exploitive renewable energy scheme :V

So, if Yumi is in college do we get to pick her major and stuff?

Wait who are you talking about?
Most of the characters in PMMM are children being used to generate energy that Kyuubei claims is being used to fight entropy. Since they're children, their brains are not finished developing. The prefrontal cortex continues development well into young adulthood. It usually finishes up around age 25. Yumi is the name of the protagonist of the quest.

Basically, I'm saying that I'd find it interesting to point out that all these 8-14 aged kids don't even have whole sections of their brain to make rational decisions with yet.

And yet many children make better choices than the alleged adults.

Neuroscience is complicated and directly mapping functionality onto areas is usually works out to rule of thumb at best instead of a necessary requirement.

Also, I have to say, that was quite rude of you.

It's also still factual that an adolescent brain is not the same an adult brain. I'm not sure why or how it's rude to point that out in the context of fictional children who are coerced into selling their souls. Often in situations that take direct advantage of their emotions. Those things teenagers even older than Madoka have a harder time controlling due to mainly using their amygdala when making choices. There's marked and well known differences in brain development. Some children making better choices than "alleged adults" doesn't really factor into talking about adolescent brain development.

Especially since none of the kids in PMMM ever make good choices. The whole plot is a bunch of middle schoolers making horrible uninformed choices than result in suffering. So... Pointing this all out, in reference to a possible scene in a story, isn't insulting anyone. That would require me directing this to an actual child in an extreme unempathetic way. Is it universal? Not entirely, since everyone develops differently. A 14 year old on par with a 16 year old exists. Is your average 14 year old going to have a brain as developed as a 25 year old brain? No.

Unless you mean my tone or phrasing. In that case it'd be helpful if you actually explain how or why, so I can work on that.

And now, we begin!

You think and act quickly, grabbing Oriko from the floor and using her as a shield against the new girl. You're bleeding, but you don't focus on it. Your left arm is around her neck, and you're pinning her right arm with your right hand.

Your back is to the "Barrier" you just exited. It's risky, but you have to buy those other girls all the time you can.

"So, Oriko, have you ever 'seen' yourself saving the world?" You ask, your anger poorly masked, "How much is your own guesswork?"

"I saw Kaname's Witch destroy Mitakihara- no, the world! I have to stop it!" Oriko responds, apparently nervous.

"Yeah, my Oriko is right!" The new girl chimes in, "You should've died when she asked!"

"New girl, shut up. Oriko, you didn't answer my question."

"I'm sure I could have, but you interfered with my sight! How?! What kind of Wish... Wait- you don't have a Soul Gem!" Her voice perks up. "Kirika, she's not a Magical Girl!"

"What the hell does that-"

(KIRIKA ATTACK ROLL: 13)
VS
(YOUR ROLL: 16)

This Kirika girl is almost too fast to keep eyes on. Almost. You can react here.

[] Toss Oriko at her and book it!
[] Fall back into the Barrier.
[] Something else? (Write in.)

[X] Toss Oriko at her and book it!

The whole reason I wanted to move toward the barrier was to not let them have complete control over the initiative. Now that they gave us an occasion, I think it is time to book it!

Also, Oriko and Kirika are going to get a surprise when they truly realize we can match them.

Are we going to get demons or equivalents, or it is more like we are going to unlock powers and abilities to then use, while possibly becoming stronger as we fight more battles?

No, not like mechanic stuff. Uh, how do I put it? Have you ever seen the prologue of SMT 4: Apocalypse?
How in the opening hour, Nanashi dies in a story event and plot happens?

Yeah, I expected that about 3 updates ago. You guys are good at keeping yourself alive! I haven't found a fair way to have that plot begin. So yeah. [/SPOLER]

Yes, I know about Nanashi. Also, maybe you should spoiler that point. Though, the game may already be old enough to avoid that.

Hopefully the demonic patron is still following us, because it is going to be hard to survive and escape. Even if I will laugh if we will somehow manage to end up in a chase around all of Mitakihara only to then immediately return to life after Oriko and Kirika finally kill us.

How do I do that?
