I'm also still of the belief that the Nora combat-analysis-log from Kintsugi is about someone fighting both King and Valkyrie, not King and Valkyrie fighting each other. Admittedly, this is relying on the slightly meta info we have about what Wider Than The Mile will give us (both info on King and Valkyrie).
I can definitely see that angle ever since you mentioned it. It would mean the PoV is not shifting around from Valkyrie's perspective to King's, it just means that whoever is holding Nora and using her as a targeting computer was focusing on fighting King and then switched to Valkyrie.
"He's right, you know," you say, smiling at Rhys, "Crusade is doing their best to limit the fallout, but they have enough uncomfortable questions to answer that their 'concerns' about us are no longer in front of public consciousness."
You gain +5 to your roll counteracting Crusade's next attack on your REPUTATION next turn! Justice Unlimited has garnered enough public support that Crusade's next attack on your REPUTATION will automatically fail!
Personally, I've been wondering if that'd be coming up in the interview.
"Yeah, I thought I wasn't a parahuman, but it turns out I have a passive power that makes he a font of psychic energy. Unfortunately, I have no natural ability to actually use it, so it's normally pretty useless. But that makes me the perfect person to wear the suit."
Ambush. It wasn't a fight. She was off balance from whatever she broke through to learn this in the first place and they slammed "scramble" on before she knew she was even under attack. That's why I mentioned a psionic mine - basically she stepped on a trap when breaking through a shield to learn the truth, and in doing so left her own defenses horribly frail. She was then 'shot' before she could react by someone probably waiting for exactly that moment.
Maybe. However, another possibility is simply that interacting with it did so innately. Like accidentally sticking a fork into a electrical socket, or touching a power line, only it was her brain.
Well, not entirely your fault. Theodore was the fool who went ahead with the experiment without proper testing. Kyoko enabled him. Now he's dead and she's unresponsive.
Oscar is gone. Run away, as always. Like a child hiding his soiled sheets under the bed. He's used your device and gone so far, you doubt he'll ever come back.
Yemọja has rallied the metahumans in the city—even Novalight's remnants of New Dawn—but they will make no difference. It's just a fragment, but even a fragment of a god is a god.
It's your fault. All of your faults. You were not just Icarus flying too close to the sun—you all were flying into the sun. And you—the mother of psychic technology—built the machine that let them.
Perhaps Oscar had the right idea. Perhaps . . . you should run away too.

Like legitimately, I find him so fascinating he's basically my dream pick for which old school JU founder I would want is a protag if it wasn't our lady
Even though he wasn't an option because he melted
It's powered a lot like how EXCEED-BEYOND is powered. Only it isn't voluntary. Crusade has meta humans locked up somewhere being siphoned to feed the armor when it isn't in use. This is a much nastier process than it is for Ellie, because they don't have powers perfectly custom designed to fuel the suit.
When we pick the weapon global action, we should train Lady Leizi's Hit too. My hope is that we can get her to Hit 6 with training since we'll have a DC10 on a D20 (Basically a 50/50), and then the weapon brings her up to Hit 7 which is only 1 point behind Handyman's Hit.
Also, damn, the lore drops are incredibly juicy, but I'm so incredibly happy at those Espionage rolls. We're fighting Psychic Space Illuminati and we're still running rings around them. They have no idea what Project Prometheus actually is while we're piecing together their entire scheme and winning the PR battle!
Our espionage rolls basically made Crusade give us Info about their knowledge while not letting them gain anything about what Prometheus really is about yeh
That said with this accusation I think we need to get rod of YQ before Fellowship mission so that the fact we gave monarch money for G9 cant be a detriment in building the alliance with trilogy.
Since i really hope we can absorb that small team.
Obviously this is subject to change with regard to what Sarah and Chihiro unlocked, but I'm still on board with spending one action on Nora's junk pile. Even if it doesn't give us something specifically useful, like a Telepathy Blocker for Mona, John, and Maddie, there's bound to be some interesting stuff in there.
"I can't make people feel the way all of you could," you confess, "I can make them fear me. I can even make them love me. But I cannot make them believe in me."

In case anyone is not aware, Justice Unlimited got itself a series of interviews in Takanashi Chihiro's show in Ọsanyìn Centralized News; they're slated to be interviewed the day after tomorrow (the day after the memorial). Frankly, it's about time. I guess they've been very busy, but knowing what the current team is like would reassure people that Justice Unlimited is back.
Edit: It appears the interviews are still on at the same time as they were scheduled, despite Monarch interrupting the memorial; thankfully there were no casualties.
Edit 2: Holy shit.
Edit 3: For newcomers to the thread: The full video of the interviews and Crusade's appearance can be found [here] (with a mirror [here] in case that first video gets taken down).

Bro what the hell is with these questions? The Printemps one seemed to make Chatelet upset, and the Valiant Silver one got a rise out of Doctor Silver, but seeing Menagerie Witch shutting down like that made my heart fall a bit. That's just… No. Awful.

Posted on January 18, 2068:
Awful is the right word to describe what happened to Menagerie Witch. No wonder she was saying she'd be coming after Le Petit Prince. And yikes, Black Swan really popped off. I guess anyone would be angry at that being said to their friend.

That definitely wasn't the usual Mona. I've never seen her so angry before…

I have mixed feelings about Black Swan, but that angry outburst definitely felt weird. She was very restrained and peppy when we dueled.

Mixed feelings? Didn't her kicking SM in the balls lead to the suspension of the Powers-Faust contracts? Don't you technically owe her your freedom?

Look, I'm just saying, if Stockpile hadn't confirmed it, it would probably have become another run-of-the-mill he-said she-said sort of awful situation where people just can't make enough of a judgment call based on evidence and it becomes a contest of who the public likes more. He did the bare minimum, at least.

I was working on this omake before the update dropped, which is how I got it out so quickly. It's not as good as I was hoping it'd come out, but I feel like it touches upon the important bits. Forum-style interludes are hard to do, though - I don't think I'll put out another.
Really exciting update! I can just imagine Nora all but shouting at Ellie that it's the f*cking ladder!
Pretty sure it's already been established, but it sounds like Jacob's Ladder is the psychic siphon. They're draining the leviathan to empower the Horae Guard / Elysium in general, which likely caused the Movement. Stockpile is also tapping into the Leviathan/Jacob's Ladder for his own scavenged suit, so he assumes that was what Nora was doing all along. Though it does beg the question: If he's convinced Nora was going to end the world by fucking with the Leviathan, does he know that Elysium is doing the same thing?
Couple outstanding questions remain on the topic though: How does Princess fit into all this, and why did Uiara think Nora was doing crazy experiments on the Leviathan?
Couple outstanding questions remain on the topic though: How does Princess fit into all this, and why did Uiara think Nora was doing crazy experiments on the Leviathan?
Uiara almost certainly didn't. There's something weird going on there, where the video is real, yet at the same time impossible because Lady Leizi had no idea what it was going on about. One possibility is it is something grabbed from an alternate timeline where Uiara did reach that conclusion.
Time for a headcanon that has no backing, but I think it's funny.
Earthen owl is Scarlet Maturity best friend either in I respect only the most powerful but earthen owl is my favorite coworker and as such the closest thing he has to a best friend
Or SM just likes him and as such thinks of them as best friends
You gain +5 to your roll counteracting Crusade's next attack on your REPUTATION next turn! Justice Unlimited has garnered enough public support that Crusade's next attack on your REPUTATION will automatically fail!
I... wonder about something
If we try to counteract Crusade next turn with the +5 with that auto fail... could we effectively be able to push even further?
Like they try to- actually wait, I forget, is the roll automatic?
But like I was saying, they try to trash out REP again, and then we roll for counteracting the next attack still... would that just turn it into a attack of our own?
Especially with all these new boosts to our global REP score, plus all of us wackos having a hoard of +1's, we can auto get a base 10 from bonus and audience aid alone, which just...
Like think about it, we can get a starting +10 on the counteracting roll. Then we can add out frankly powerful Global REP to that, giving us hopefully another bonus on top of that PLUS the roll itself-
The No Spin Zone (Now with Spin!)
Once per mission, when Chihiro is present in a scene, or reasonably reachable through remote means, you may re-roll any failed REPUTATION check that relates to public relations. The re-roll is done with advantage and Chihiro adds +3 to the final result.
You Little Shit!
Chihiro has maintained her journalistic integrity in an industry that demands she abandon it, but she's still got hands. Once per mission, if Chihiro is present in a scene, or reasonably reachable by remote means, you may automatically pass any REPUTATION check where you attempt to damage a foe's credibility or reputation in the eyes of the public, so long as your negative claims are factually accurate.
