I only know Worm from reading Worm fanfics. I am never reading the original.
It's very interesting world-building that falls apart as soon as it leaves street-level action and has a main character who would be a fascinating view into a broken person if the narrative didn't keep twisting itself in knots to justify her terrible choices and so she never has to grow as a person.

And to avoid the Worm discourse: I'm thinking of having a system where Wolong would be able to "optimize" a build once it's voted on. As it, he'll tell you if you can swap samples out to better achieve what you want or if you've juuuuust missed a synergy. But I feel that might also rob some of the joy out of the system (e.g. me adding too much input into your heroes). How do people feel? It would have to have a steep cost.

Sometimes we really want a very specific power.
Having the option sounds good.
For example, maybe we want a power that destroys permanent power effects on people who arent the originator of the power.

I would not mind the option simce it would help lower the amount of guesswork we need to do at least, but.. *looks at JU finances and Opale with a shotgun giving us a death glare*

Its an option. Most people I think will just go with the gacha option as it were, but if they want something extremely specific like "invulnerable psychic yara" its a good option to have... as soon as we arent flat broke anyway

I'm not a fan, would take a bit of the fun out of it, I think. Maybe a system where he can prototype/preview powers in a limited way (so the power combination could manifest in several possible ways depending on the person) giving us an option to check what we're getting?

Hmm, I'll think about it. I think my instincts were right, but I want to give you guys the option of looking for more info about what you want.

Oh wait. Duh. "Ask Wolong" Global action. On top of your free one before any Project Prometheus action.

. . . guys it's an arc about someone who has their dead sister high up on a pedestal, an enemy who's following in what he believes are the footsteps of his dead mentor, and a person who's power is to create a copy of someone and strip them of all agency but worship of her!
My bad! Admittedly, it's a word that you can get a lot of usage out of!

I also don't read worm ( only occasionally Crossovers)
Only know worm from crossover but fair. Just hope this doesnt meant they have the oter thing Worm Eidolon is known for...

Blessed are all of you, who are not cursed with the burden of knowledge. Worm is-

[...] I'm pretty meh on Worm. I read up to the Slaughterhouse arc, dropped it, then came back and spoiled it for myself. There are some ideas there! It's certainly super influential! It's, uh, written with words!
-pretty meh, yeah. It exists. I guess I was assuming too much familiarity with it here - in the context of this forum and SB, it's very hard to avoid because of how inexplicably popular its fics are. It definitely has some ideas but the execution is lacking IMO.

Okay, why do you think that Elemental and Energy are interchangeable for the creation of Telekinesis?
I'll be honest and say that I completely misread the quoted passage with Wolong, and thought he said Elemental.

random thought you think we could combine giant slayer & transformation to make a hero who could go Kaiju

I've heard so many conflicting stuff about Worms that I kinda made it my thing to never read anything related to it :V

Mind you I only started hearing about worms when I first came to SV

I believe I said this once, a long time ago when I was talking with one of my irl friends in a discord server right after Faustian Pt. 4 dropped. I was still a dude 100% of the time back then, that's how long ago it was.

"I think Worm only understands great power. Project Prometheus also understands great responsibility."

Also, yes please on that Ask Wolong global action!

Yeah without a very steep cost feel like that would kind of remove the stakes.

@Bitterman
What if you added some other things. Removed Wolong's Auto success Ops check for the turn. A cost in income. And it is limited only to 1 aspect of the power. All if we take the Wolong talk
