I have a preliminary one up, this will be army only for now, I will expand into Navy later. These are also meant to be in-universe perceptions and may introduce a Sprey like character at some point.

Mughal Empire:
123,00 men under arms
Fielding a surprisingly small army broken down into four maneuver units of two armies, one division, and a brigade the Mughals seem to have completely eschewed the concept of mobile warfare and magical warfare having relegated their mages to a single recon brigade. The Mughals seem split between whether they have embraced industrial warfare or not. A reliance on such large formations for combat as well as the high disposition raises the question of how they intend to prosecute a war. Their lack of mobility and relatively low standing manpower leads many believe their intended doctrine is to conscript large numbers of infantry armies to hold most of the line while two elite armies press any attack under the aid of large artillery barrages.

Moroccan Sultanate:
200,000 men under arms:
Fielding a single army of 200,000 men with 20,000 long guns to support them the veteran "Black Guard" are likely the most powerful single military formation on the continent easily dominating their southern neighbors but with a lack of strategic mobility in their current deployment region if the Morrocans can support such a formation in combat against a true foe has yet to be proven.

Ashanti Empire:
207,250 men under arms:
While they do not share a border with the Moroccans the Ashanti field a significant force, four armies broken down in effective maneuver units. The primary maneuver of each army is a single corp around which supporting units are used. Three corps with relatively obsolete cannons are supported by recon, engineering, and magical forces indicating a very forward thinking doctrine. Each independent recon battalion and one corp are mounted allowing for rapid movement to exploit breakthroughs conducted by the corps. The Ashanti are considered the surprise military power of the region though are heavily hobbled by a lack of technology to utilize their ideas.

Prussia:
100,000 men under arms
Once considered a military powerhouse of the continent the Prussian army is currently composed of two corps labelled armies with significant tank and artillery support. Specialists are distributed throughout the corp allowing them to engage threats of all sorts on a modern battlefield save for a distinct lack of magical capability common in many current European armies. Little else can be said for the Prussians except for their large formations and well equipped status.

Empire of Japan:
67,250 men under arms
A relatively small army but not surprising for an island nation. While the larger Kansaigun would seem to be the core of the Japanese military holding both the nation's only motorized division and entire allotment of heavy tanks but the true strength of the Empire is likely to come from the two marine hakenguns, composed of specialists brigades the motorized and armoured divisions are more likely to build upon the successes of these specialists. They are small in size but given their specialized equipment and training expect their application to be precise.

Shun Dynasty:
400,000 men under arms
A vast force dwarfing most by magnitudes sixteen divisions with magical support and engineering attached formations makes the Shun military seem fearsome at first glance but a complete lack of artillery, operational mobility, armour solutions, and below average magic capability for their mages means the Shun military is more bark than bite.

United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway:
Unknown at this time

The Kingdom of Dahomey:
100,000 men and women under arms
Dahomey stands out as an oddity among armies. It fields four divisions of which one is segregated being composed entirely of women. In theory a more modernized force in terms of equipment than the rest of the continent a failure to capitalize on this has left them as another light infantry force with magical support despite below average magical capability shown among their mages.

Mexican Dominion:
109,328 men under arms
Significant in size, well equipped, and mobile the Mexican Dominion appears a forward thinking military complex with three core divisions around which most of their army is built to support. Despite much of their force appearing modern and capable their army has a noticeable lack of tanks which they appear to attempt to make up for with independent anti-tank artillery formations but as they are not mobile their utility on the offense is likely to be low.

Kingdom of Ireland:
20,750 men under arms
There is little to say on the Irish, a single division of light infantry with engineer and magical support with four supporting companies, sufficient to defend a single beachhead but unlikely to stand long in the event of major conflict.

Californian Union:
59,000 men under arms
Attempting to do more with less a single corp is supported three specialized brigades. Self-propelled anti-tank gun and anti-aircraft gun brigades allow them to put up a tough defense against these enemies but with only 400 artillery guns for their entire army a prolonged war would likely result in the complete annihilation of their military as an effective fighting force in a single battle should the enemy press them hard or drive their armor from the field.

Kingdom of France:
190,140 men under arms
Insufficient information is known at this time

Mamluk Sultanate:
120,000 men under arms
Seven divisions including two motorized divisions make it all too clear the form of war the Mamluk Sultanate intends to fight. Golem with their 75mm guns and tanks with their 57mm guns are clearly intended to be the heavy lifters of any conflict placing disproportionate firepower in these divisions compared to others in the region while three infantry divisions specialized for the assault reveal that the Mamluk Sultanate has little intention of fighting a defensive war instead having slower forces to breakthrough a line and faster but still well armed forces to exploit these opportunities. Many question the lack of magical support for most divisions given the magical advantage the Mamluks hold over most nations.

Commonwealth of Oceania:
290,000 men under arms
The dominant military power on the continent and one of the most impressive military forces none can deny the power of an Oceanian brigade. The size of the military belies it's actual combat size with over 1/3 as territorial guard light infantry. The New Model Army is the fighting force of Oceanian military and is the only one it needs. Called "foot" the 10 infantry brigades are actually mechanized infantry brigades supported by the powerful "Hammond" self-propelled gun. The three inch gun fires a powerful 18 pound shell horrifically lethal to infantry and able to destroy fortifications. In a straight fight there is no question that Oceania is the dominant force of their continent.

Kingdom of Spain:
80,750 men under arms
A small but apparently capable military, four divisions are potentially supported by three independent mage battalions. All four divisions are composed of motorized infantry backed by one of the only heavy tanks fielded today. There is little to say Spain is lacking with each division able to work together with sufficient fire support and aarmour support in each and able to exploit any breakthroughs they make. if their military is anything to show the decline of Spain is at an end with competent minds at the reigns.

Kingdom of Wales:
20,000 men under arms
A single division with some support nobody expects Wales to be a military powerhouse and they deliver on this expectation.

Republic of Platina:
Unknown at this time

Naglfar:
250 men under arms
250 marines and their mages compose the entirety of the Naglfar army though none expect them to be weak military given their massive magical capability.

Syndicate of the West Indies:
Unknown at this time

United States of Europe:
Unknown at this time

Kingdom of Portugal:
20,000 men under arms
A sad state of affairs after the military dominance of Spain next door was displayed, a mere 20 light tanks in a single division almost completely lacking in specialist support. Portugal's time as a rival on the peninsula will end the next time any other nation on the continent glances in their direction.

Azawad Confederation:
45,000 men under arms
Two division strength war hosts and five battalion strength warbands compose the rather small Azawad military but they make up for it with complete mobility and noteworthy firepower. The primary power comes in the war hosts being both mechanized and holding disproportionate amounts of artillery but the lack of centralization and poor condition of Azawad artillery keeps them from being a force to be reckoned with.
What actually is this?

Also woot woot double post.

Oh! Now that I have wifi again (and some free time) would people rather have me do a few initial reports for the turn update, or a sort of short history/primer of the metacycle (LSS/MSS/NSS)?

Initial reports I think, to hold interest and make it feel like things are progressing if nothing else. >>

I mean, honestly, I might not understand the current state of world affairs on account of me being kinda dense. But I have a good-ish enough understanding regarding my particular slice of it to play in it and if there's any questions I can just as you or @Mina or @Estro as needed. More than anything I'd really just like to see things move. A lot of the GSRP's I've been in have stalled out right around this point and never really recovered y'know? <<

LSS Summary
Alright:

LSS started fairly smoothly, with nations trying to make contact with Grantville and Citallon, and the Austrians and Ottomans trying to lock down and monopolize contact with them. The English, Dutch, and Austrians made early contact with Grantville, Citallon lagged considerably.

Spain made all the Jews and Muslims move to California. They then got their asses kicked in several wars because they couldn't pay their men.

Then the English stole from Grantville's libraries, the Austrians staged a revolt in the city to get them to accept Austrian protection, and the Dutch had a succession crisis leading almost to civil war.

France banished the Frondeurs to America and married Henrietta Stuart. Charles II was captured thanks to the English having a historical record of his landing in Scotland.

Austria, Poland, Sweden, France, Spain, the newly reformed Knights Templar, the Papacy, Russia, Iran, and most of Italy went on crusade against the Ottomans to try to bust Citallon out of their control. The Ottomans responded by turning the Balkan campaign into the Napoleonic invasion of Russia. Unfortunately, after 4 years, the Ottomans folded, no longer able to feed their own capital. The crusaders broke up their holdings, basically pushing them back to just Turkey.

The English used this as an excuse to seize Dutch and Swedish holdings in the Americas. Their claims of being foreordained as masters of the world fell a bit flat, and the Dutch and Swedes invaded. This is where the two timelines diverge.

In MSS, Royalist sympathizers break Charles out of prison and depose Cromwell. The outbreak of WW1 and subsequent giant dogpile on Super!Austria settled the colonies issue by means of everyone being too busy to care. The important things to know about this timeline:
Iran and Austria were huge, swole buddies. Nobody liked them.
Austria was ruled by an immortal Kaiser Frederick Barbarossa. Nobody liked him either.
Russia/Denmark/Sweden/Netherlands/England/Japan had an alliance against Iran/Austria/Spain.
England switched sides after their allies kept telling them not to act like late 1600s colonial overlords. A huge bush war against the Incans ensued. Portugal was basically England's Italy, doing their level best to not help whatsoever.
The Mexicans joined Austria after a huge communist revolt.
Austria had a huge communist revolt... nobody trusted them after either.
Poland pretended to be on Austria's side, then ambushed them while they were passing through to defend Poland from Russia. Poland was run by Mina Harker. Everyone liked her. She married an Incan prince for some reason.
WW2 happened. The game collapsed in a pile of angry saltiness.

NSS:
No world war happens, though smaller bush wars were common.
In MSS, a Dutch agent gets the Aztecs and Incans to think he is a reborn savior. The Aztecs figure out he's fake and start a republic. The Incans never do. in NSS, the opposite happens.
Germany doesn't completely consolidate under Austria.
Cromwell is still alive, and not a horrifying eldritch evil sword created through extremely poor decision making.

Fuck you that's more than my entire economy. Is joke, pls no mad.
England switched sides after their allies kept telling them not to act like late 1600s colonial overlords. A huge bush war against the Incans ensued. Portugal was basically England's Italy, doing their level best to not help whatsoever.
I would qualify my shenanigans as more than a "bush war." It created a new nation(in the Yucatan, with help from other people) and was the catalyst for the 2nd World War kicking off.

Because FITE ME PERFIDIOUS ALBION!

Don't forget Citallon going to the moon, I'm pretty sure that never happened in this timeline.

@Theravis: dumb question of the day: I assume Citallon is from Random Magic Place, and that Grantville is some sort of modern American town? Just how much knowledge of the modern world filtered out?

So currently reading the final pages of MMS, it's a very interesting experience seeing all the crazy stuff you guys got up to.
