It is indeed so.

All yours if you want it.

Excellent, thank you.

So, the first and most important question I face is:

As the sole nation in the americas that is an United States of Anything, do I accept that "South" America is silly unless the United States of North America spring into being, and shorten my name to the United States of America until then, or do I shed that strange name and go with something based on Quechua or Spanish instead (like, say the Republic of Peru?)

:thonk:

Currently working on my turn-post and I have a question. Did the following lead to any faction changes for this turn or will it take effect in the coming turns? Can't seem to find a follow up event.
Lifeblood of Nations

"Bristol", painted in 1685
In the Grantvillian age, Trade is more important than ever. Grantvillian texts, magical resources, and newly discovered and exploited resources cross the world as routes shift, become impassable, or open up in new and unexpected ways. The Polar Passage, the Suez Canal, Airships and Zeppelins and Aeroplanes have all encouraged and diversified the practice, but at its core most international trade is still shipped by boat, and those who invested properly began to see returns.

In Bristol rapidly modernized port facilities and increasingly popular trans-polar cruises prompted a wave of investment. New factories, shipyards, and more began to open and various entrepreneurs and innovators were keen to take advantage.

At Agadir, trade began to flood in from the new world. Ships stopped on their way into the Mediterranean, some unloading for land or air transport to avoid the ever-more worrying Straits of Steel, the local economy boomed and the city expanded at an unprecedented rate, with other ports along the African Coast benefiting from the increased frequency of American merchants.

Results:
Morocco gets +1 to next Econ roll, Mali gets +1 to next Econ roll, Population growth boosts for both countries, Faction changes to come
Wales gets +1 to next Econ roll, +2 Years of Industry, Faction changes to come

Excellent, thank you.

It's mostly aversion to grabbing an uptime name. Feel free to change if you'd like.

@Theravis, dread master:

How do the Fiddly Bits(tm) of making a nation work? Is there a How-To somewhere?
Right, as someone who can, with fair accuracy, claim to be at least the co-creator of this system of rules, just PM me on here or discord. I'd recommend the latter.
Combination of the rules post in the OP, and community input. I'd strongly recommend our discord, though I'm at work at the moment and can't share the link
He's already on there.

So, as I just get into this game, is there an option to start off with an election year to mulligan my starting ruling party? (it has been four years since the last election, as it is)

Rolling magic and institution quest. I'll do the rolls sequentially, so the thematic and bonus roll for magic first, then the thematic and bonus roll for institution.

Magic Quest

Theme: 4 (Warfare)

Bonus: -2 (6-8)

Institution Quest

Tech Focus: Aeronautics

Theme: Warfare

Bonus: +2 (Theming Bonus from Expanded Military, Konzern Committed)
