Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Oh...

IIRC she originally said she could send in 'allies'...

Wait.

The Knight. The fucking combat knight dude we sparred with. (I forget if he gave his name but am at work and don't have time to check)

We need a nonmagical fighter to take out scourge, wouldn't he be a pretty fantastic help?
Knight-san can't be teleported by Gaia's method of teleportation.
Though I'm sure she can figure out a way.

I'd rather not the Portugals seeing as those were for a time being 'typical' magical girls, and I'd like the Naron-verse to remain Naron-verse only with MGs being monsters to stamp out ASAP!
We use our own! Besides I'm pretty sure they'd just get gibbed out here.

I think we should, see if Gaia can get us the knight, and maybe ask for Una as well as a backup plan?

But yeah, knightbro.

Admittedly I'm thinking we have a semi-solid plan-call Una to surprise-one shot...ACtually.
Neverthere can swap locations with people...What's to prevent him from swapping Fortress out with Scourge if Una takes the shot, instead of what we're hoping for where our play forces them to focus on us opening the trio up to Una's backstab attempt?

Can we send Una back after this fight though, because this might get overall quite a bit tougher if we have to worry about keeping track and protecting Una alone.

Like who? We don't have any other allies.
I was kind of giving you a hint that there are more. With the explicit mention I will not give out any more information on the matter.

If you want no EXP for beating them and Gaia has a way to get him there, sure. As Rukia said, porting does not work on him.
That would be one, anyway.

We might be able to get Gaia to help us. But probably not.
The might is rather accurate.

[] Plan Una then Swording
-[] Have Gaia send Una behind the enemies with orders to shoot Fortress with Paradox
-[] Before Una ports in, cast Halt on Neverthere so that Scourge will use Consume on Halt and be unable to stop Una from killing Fortress.
-[] Charge Scourge and attempt to kill him in melee. Have both aura's off and use no spells. Be prepared for if/when Neverthere switches with Scourge.
-[] If Neverthere switches with Scourge, attack Nevermore with your sword.
-[] If Nevermore dies first, then charge and kill Scourge in melee. If Scourge dies first, cast Halt on Neverthere and have Una cast Paradox on him.
-[] Double and triple check that all of them are dead, don't want another repeat of Fortress.

So the idea is to prevent Scourge from stopping Una's alpha strike on Fortress by forcing Scourge to cast his spell first and then to deal with the other two. Melee is the only way to deal with Scourge, so getting into melee range of him is key. Nevermore switching with Scourge once we are there just provides us with a very squishy target right in front of us. Neverthere should be easy to deal with once his allies are dead, but it is always a good idea to be safe and prevent him from escaping with Halt. Thoughts?
You wrote "Nevermore" instead of Neverthere in places. I do not see anything wrong with it and I like the addition of Halting Neverthere first to distract Scourge.

We use our own!
Okay, what?

MGs are combat monsters in every installment, first and foremost. No one is a 'typical' MG and Libra has nothing to do with this Quest. If you are afraid that MGs will be seen as harbingers of destruction, then playing as a harbinger of destruction already burned that bridge thoroughly in the first place.

Neverthere can swap locations with people...What's to prevent him from swapping Fortress out with Scourge if Una takes the shot, instead of what we're hoping for where our play forces them to focus on us opening the trio up to Una's backstab attempt?
Neverthere can only swap himself with allies, not one ally with another. Additionally, Halt's Total Lockdown prevents escape via magic. If this is your concern, Inferno's plan from the previous page (quoted above) would be your go-to.

Can we send Una back after this fight though, because this might get overall quite a bit tougher if we have to worry about keeping track and protecting Una alone.
I have the feeling Gaia would take her back after the engagement anyway. Either specify in your vote, or leave it to me to remind Rukia of it if this does not happen automatically.

On a sidenote: we just discussed something and realised another Item ought to be in the Shop. Now it is, so you should take a look.

Why have Una use Paradox on Neverthere though?

sounds like a decent enough plan.
though we should still use A&O to absorb spells cast by fortress, or we might die (unimportant, if fortress dies to the turn 1 Una ambush)

I suggest adding some XP-expenditure to make it more likely to succeed.

I wonder if Tohru counts as ally we can bring in since she's care about Cerys due to that incident.

maybe. but she does not want to be involved with Gaia. We'd be doing her a disservice by calling her in.
Also Gaia can't teleport into or out of Japan.
True but Gaia could care less since the bond is between Cerys and Tohru not her so there's degree of separation.
Aren't Una still in Japan if there's not teleport?

Really should include using omega in this plan so we don't die, but other than that it looks okay.

I think we should avoid using magic surge against scourge if we buy it, even with our sword.

I agree with redknight that we need omega in case Fortress shoots a spell at us, but that it is otherwise a good plan.

Looks like the votes are pretty much set, I'll try to write the next chapter tomorrow.
Unless this means the vote is closed.
