That is basically my reasoning as well.
Plus, I want to know if Karen would go so far as to actually publically announce Cerys as the culprit. Knowing this will help us plan for how to act close to civilisation in the future.

While I'm somewhat curious about the news, I'm not interested about how Karen will spin the whole incident against Cerys. It's not like it matters much anyway.

Edit:
In fact, I'm pretty 'meh' about the war. I'm more interested to see how Gaia will convince Cerys to embrace the glory of anime (or other 'nerdy' entertainment).

It kind of is, I am afraid.

If Cerys is blamed openly, any future Magical Girls we want to interact with will be influenced by this. Chances of getting to talk to them peacefully down go down rapidly, no matter who they are.
So I would rather know what to expect, to prepare for future encounters.

Of course we could ask Gaia about it later, but previous events do not put this course of action into a good light. I reckon it would be forgotten before we get to that.

I can see your point (in fact, I already thought about it prior to my post), but it's somewhat pointless because Cerys is going to be seen as a boogeyman anyway; following the aftermath of her assault against both armies' frontlines.

I look forward to our deployment. We are going to kill so many people and potentially make WW3 much more then just a two sided affair(haven't been this on board for murder since Hellsing).

Also I expect Cerys will get a good amount of MG's at her command if only because we're a maternal figure to Orphans and abandoned, a leader for the blood thirsty and have the power those truly desperate would want. Long term we might have the power to dictate this war by raw force.

That being said, I don't think The news will stabilize Us as much as actual relaxation and I trust uninformed but relaxed Cerys more then Informed but cranky us for short term management. Especially given what we just went through.
 
Hmm i wonder what these settlements on the turtisland are for. Does Gaia intend to recruit her own (personal) army from amongst the humans and train them in preparation for the demon invasion? Or maybe its something of a last refuge where we can bring survivors and refugees from the war? Or perhaps both.

Its much too big for just magical girls thats for sure.

Only one thing is certain with Rivendell. It's that Gaia has a plan.

She's planning ahead for both the Magical Girl Nation, and the necessary embassies and diplomatic enclaves such a nation will be expected to host.

That, or she's setting up so she can be the venue for the next Olympic Games, I guess.
