Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Ring Bind – Conjure rings of magic that wrap around target's limbs to lock them in place. The binds last one hour unless broken or dismissed. Currently, only one target can be affected at a time.

[X] Temporal Sludge – Slow the flow of time within an circle of 20 meter diameter to a third of its normal rate. Area does not have to be centered on caster. Spell effect currently lasts 20 seconds per casting.

Would Temporal Sludge affect us or our projectiles if we entered its AOE? I have been voting under the assumption that it would.

[X] Solar Wrath – Powerful bombardment spell. Unleash a beam of fiery destruction that is capable of destroying multiple barriers or walls before being stopped.

Moar dakka!

Basically:
-Solar Wrath - vs Lung, Hookwolf
-Ring Bind - pretty much all non-Brute/Breaker, but only one at a time
-Temporal Sludge - General tarpit

-Solar Wrath - vs Lung, Hookwolf

Would Solar Wrath work against Lung? He has flame immunity and Solar Wrath is a beam of fiery destruction. Not that I don't like Solar Wrath, it's just a potential interaction I'd like us to be aware of. Speaking of which, would Flare Shooter work against Lung?

He's not immune except to his own fire.

Sundancer took him to his knees. Granted, everyone else woukd be charcoal already

I'm voting for Temporal Sludge because I think it will be one of our best tools against Lung. The best way to survive Lung is to not let him touch us. The best way to beat him is owerwhelming damage before he can ramp up. Sludge helps with both, first we slow him down, then we use the extra time we got to fill the area around him with all the lasers. ALL OF THEM.

In general, sludge will be good at hampering opponents we can't normally hurt. Ramped up Lung, Endbringers (incredibly useful in EB battles!), Crawler, the Siberian...

Not so much, given that Sludge slows attacks entering as well, unless we can exploit differential time frames to compress and stack an attack passing through the boundary(without deflecting or scattering, I'm not sure how physics real this is regarding transitioning between fields of altered time flow, but most projectiles and beams would deform as they cross).

It's the counter Mover option. Tarpit them so you can nail them in one place. Soft counters Lung by delaying his ramp up, but if you don't have an option to hammer him down, you still don't.

It's the counter Mover option.

And it only works against Movers that actually move from place to place i.e. not teleporters. That means New Wave, Purity, Velocity, and Aegis, none of whom we should be fighting. Sludge still hampers but is less effective against Bitch, and Squealer, but I'm still not seeing what makes it so great.

I did realize it slows down the attacks too, but not how fast we can attack, as long as we stay outside the area. That is assuming the projectiles don't deform when they reach the field, but we don't have any reason to think they do? (Don't really know how the real world physics would work with slowed down time...) Actually, would be nice to get a QM answer to that. @Silently Watches, would passing into the temporal sludge slowed down time affect our attacks in any way, beside slowing them down? Would they scatter, change direction?

Assuming the answer is no, if we slow down Lung and then shoot him full with Lasers, we have time to fire thrice as many lasers at him as we otherwise would. (And yes, compressing them is definitely an option, why wouldn't that work?) The lasers get slowed down too when they reach the slowed area, but it still makes aiming easier.

Also, temporal sludge almost certainly works on Endbringers, two of which makes use of their mobility to a great extent. And as I said, I don't think it's only a counter Mover option as it's also a counter "how do we hurt this thing!"-option. It can delay and hinder many Brutes and other opponents who can't be hurt by more conventional means. It's got utility too, casting it on a wounded ally gets us almost three times more time to get them medical attention, for instance.

No, Temporal Sludge does not affect your attacks except by slowing them down. I'm not sure what you mean by compressing attacks, though, unless you're talking about using the "extra" time to fire off more spells.
