Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

Mercy!

Or if we're still doing the pirate thing, Parley?

I avoided Mercy as too obvious.

I'm partial to Mercy.

Privateers are gone.

Except for Kurt, Lacey's husband, and Shipwright. With those connections, her choosing a nautical/pirate/privateer name could be an in character decision.

It occurs to me that Kurt might be recruitable as support now. He's gotten a lot of the pride and inflexibility beaten out of him; that, or he's doubled down and gotten worse. A new power armor designed with all of Shipwright's development since making the old ones could make him a feasible support character comparable to a parahuman in ways that the privateers weren't once they lost Danny. If he can get over himself, we might want to head this way. Socializing one person, who we live with, who is married to a team member, should be much easier to manage than dealing with the group.

Just a thought.

[x] What spell to learn
-[x] Physical Heal
[x] Explore her powers in the real world (non-combat)
-[x] Announce herself at a hospital and go through testing as a parahuman healer. Then discuss career options.

What he was trying to do wasn't wrong though. The privateers didn't need to be 'socialized out of it', they just needed to realize that their methods and materials weren't effective without Danny and the paradigm needed a major overhaul. Maybe we could have given them the support they needed, maybe they could have gone cop/firefighter/PRT; those are the same goals and honorable as well.

But without danny...
Well,.. you're suggesting we be the support he needs, and I'm fine with that. Now we just need to build votes.

The character sheet doesn't imply anything. Lacey isn't a fighter, and binding people wasn't the first thought on her mind.
She does have ring bind however?
Also, I thought Infinite Enhancement was supposed to have Petty Cure already, with Physical Heal the next spell in the tree, or at least I thought I recall something along those lines.

In any case, I vote for
-[x] Physical Heal

I was referring more to the fact that the Privateers essentially self destructed because we weren't willing to spend the activity slots doing stuff with them, stacked on top of the all or nothing approach they went for in the last days of the group, that caused us to leave their home because we couldn't deal with Kurt, until Lacey threw him out over it...

If he's willing to work with us and former villains (Epoch, Maclibuin, Standstill, and Cailleach could all be deal breakers if he hasn't lost this view), then it might be worth building him a new, better suit and bringing him with us as an ally instead of him operating on his own.

IE doesn't have anything that small in it. Petty Cure was written out of the game, as I recall it, and is only present on our character sheet because it was one of the spells offered to us(though not taken at the time) back before the skill tree system was put in play. I would have liked to have it so there'd be some default healing skill, but getting physical heal before she has any votes on what to do works for me.

Yes, she started with Ring Bind, and we had it trained to master within a couple of days of her character sheet being created. Omakes and artwork are a powerful force here.

Question, did we ever find out why Coil bombed Tay's apartment? Was he just being a butt?
Given even simmy had trouble predicting Taylor (failing every time she cast a spell) I expect it was because she was either in the way (he was stationed in philly briefly) or in revenge for screwing things up in Brockton.

But mostly, yeah, he was just being an ass.

Sounds good to me.

Sine Tattletale was feeding him information, likely including our identity and home address, Coil could very well have come after us entirely because we went so bitchy when she tried to bully us into cooperating with her. Like many of her leaps of intuition, TT misjudged there and for a moment thought she was about to die, then she got captured by Coil, enslaved with drugs, and was generally given every reason to hate us and wish us dead. Further, with how her power works, she might know how close we came to stopping Coil(SW flat out said we would have gotten him if we hadn't pulled back at the last step), and resented us for it, or how dangerous we potentially were, and might even have realized we wouldn't be at the apartment, making the attack on us a Hail Mary play by Tattletale to get us to come after Coil.

In case that's a bit incoherent, as I'm combining a number of clauses and possibilities:
TT saw in us a chance to get out from under Coil.
She saw we were the type of person to buckle under to bullying.
She did not know about Storm's personality "upgrades".
When she came after us, she pushed all the wrong buttons.
We nearly stopped Coil.
We didn't.
She was stuck working for him.
When she escaped from BB, she either got captured by Coil or went to him voluntarily.
He then enslaved her with highly addictive drugs.
She is fed information to give insights on.
She works out who we are and where we live.
She either hates us and/or fears us enough to want to bring us and Coil into conflict.
She tells Coil where we live. She may have known we weren't there; her power is a bit hit and miss on this kind of information.
Coil attacks us.
We bring down the Hammer of God and murderize him a dozen times before he runs out of decision splits and surrenders to us.

Omg, if she couldn't already fly I would lose my ish to get her mercy style wings, I'm such a mercy main in spirit even though I prefer dps

She can't even learn it yet, so given her personality, I'd say that Lacy would probably rather learn Telekinesis for mundane utility, but I'm voting for physical heal because it is more useful.
Next spell will probably be telekinesis, unless she can learn to fly.
Synergy skill tree
  • Aerial Combat (0/6 Novice) – Ability to fly. Straight lines are easy, but you must slow down to change direction. CANNOT PURCHASE UNTIL B-RANK
    • Guardian Beast – Uplift a single animal's consciousness and give it combat and human forms. Like Mid-Childan Familiars, Guardian Beasts are totally loyal to their masters unless a truly unforgivable act is committed. Take note that though it will have its own Linker Core, it still fills it from yours.
right, forgot about the B rank requirement. Though, why its a prereq for guardian beast Ive no idea.

Probably because GB's can fly on the get go? I might be wrong, and on the note of the mercy wings, I meant that she can't fly yet and it would be redundant to give her mercy-esque tech wings, ya know?

(It would totally be epic tho)

It's just how I organized the skills. I also said you could buy Guardian Beast now and get flight later, though, so it isn't like I'm really restricting you here.

Guardian Beasts can only fly if their mages can as well.

I liked Overwatch, but I feel like that's more of a Thinker/Tactician's name or a sniper's name. (If Danny were still around that might have been a good name for him as a tactical leader)

Supplementary
Vitaemancer
I like these two, Supplementary is... kind of a put down though? In my mind it's adjacent to Superfluous, which nobody really wants to be.
Vitaemancer has 'mancer' in it, which will make RPG people think 'wizard' and 'vitae' which most doctors and anyone with an ounce of Latin knowledge will know. (Plus there's the pseudo pun of calling a white mage the opposite of a necromancer.)

Who do you think she is, Odysseus? She's not likely to go around poking Behemoth in the eye.
