Also, the people under Captain's control still obey him and are a bit of a hivemind even when they're out of his range for a while at least. Not sure if he can give them new orders while they're out of his range, but they still obey his old orders at least, and they all behave like one being with many bodies, very effecient. And Captain can, with some great effort, not take over someone who's in his range of control. He can only restrain his power for so long though, seeing as it's a great strain. It also is a bit more voluntary than Khepri, since the people under control said it was like listening to a foreman give orders, and then automatically obeying them on instinct. He can still force them to do things against their will, but it isn't the 'trapped in your own body while Khepri uses you like a puppet' that freaked out so many people in canon.

There is the fact though that everyone, including us, our entire team, and the public, thinks that Purity is still a flaming racist, which she kind of is. Notice how she's specifically targetting the ABB, and before that the Merchants which is the only large gang that black people can join. Might not be too good of an idea to recruit her, just for the sake of public perception alone. Also, Purity has been around fighting gangs for 2 years while not part of the Empire or any other organization. Taylor can pretty easily that whatever she's doing is not about money or power, or we would have heard about it. The two most likely explanations for her actions that I could come up with are that she really doesn't like the ABB and the Merchants, which we are okay with, or she wants to clean up the city, which we are also okay with. Based on this info, Taylor might want to reach out to Purity and see what her game is, and if it looks feasible, recruit her. The Privateers would then have the two strongest flying blasters in town. Might keep people from trying to pull shit with us based on the fear factor alone.
Awakening coma patients. Diagnostics (if it's like what Taylor had with her bugs, then he should be getting information on their physical state - Taylor instinctively knew about all the various venoms her insects did, for example). Training and drug rehab (Taylor had at least some biological control over her bugs, and was able to force their breeding cycles into overdrive, so some degree of hormonal control makes sense).
This almost convinces me to go for Purity. If we can recruit her... That'd be great, I think.Escalating when you aren't prepared for the opposition to do the same is a terrible idea. Just ask Alexandria.

Not at all. Logic is like this "don't escalate unless you are ready" -> "escalation is unavoidable anyway" -> "make sure you are ready to escalate".Sorry, was there sarcasm in there? I'm really bad at reading social cues in person; I'm even worse over the internet.
Or we talk it out and Purity ends up joining our gang. Not sure what to pick.
Leaning towards TRAINING though, or maybe Going after the gangs. Not because I think we can get rid of a gang (we won't), but because it'll likely have us interacting with significantly more characters. We start pounding out the Merchants and we'll likely meet Glory Girl or the Wards or more of the Protectorate (Undersiders hit only a handful of places before canon, they don't want to draw attention).
Going after Purity to me just seems like an action that will drive her back into the E88 (she's as weak as a normal human even if she hits hard, either we arrest her and she goes to jail--and gets broken out and pulled back into the E88, or we end up rivals of a sort and she goes back to the E88 for safety. IMO, theirs only a small chance of BEFRIENDING happening I think).
We'd be quite the powerhouse then, with us, GB, Purity, and some super effecient hivemind minions courtesy of Captain. But we almost definitely have a few minorities among said minions, so I don't think recruiting Purity will be as easy as all that. She does genuinely believe that colored people tend towards crime more than white people because their brains are just wired that way, or something.
Certainly possible, but I don't think it'll be that easy. Taylor's mindset here didn't have Purity as someone to turn or even arrest, but rather "Enemy" and "Target", someone for her to defeat. She's confrontational, looking for a fight.
