Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[] Okay, first of all
-[] Really? Outing me in public?
-[] Guess that makes you a cape too. Cailleach?
-[] What's so damn important?

[] Oh, and it's not Circus. It's Calamity Witch.
-[jk] *walk out dramatically* :V

I think we have the right to be angry here, I think she's being pretty stupid, even if she's trying to be "comforting"? So as punishment, I think we should let her say her piece before dropping the proverbial bomb, and hopefully outing herself as well.

I feel like the conversation could go in wildly different ways so its hard to plan for.

edit: or we just pick from the options instead of running around with a write-in

Or, and I know this is gonna sound crazy, you could just pick from the options given. "No, I'm not Circus but I am Calamity Witch", "Yes, I'm Circus", or "No, I'm not a cape"; those are your choices.

Not hard buddy.

... I understand people planning out the votes and debating before the vote starts but the people who make it in vote format and JUST that. I Don't understand... wait I just figured out that they might have did it for copy paste purposes carry on then. Also I'm of the opinion that we really shouldn't say it out loud that we are Calamity Witch I don't know why but I feel like someone would over hear us saying it and make a big fuss about it, but I'm most likely paranoid as frick, and nothing like that would happen. though I really think we need to clear the air... then again my only experience with worm (I really should get started reading it but I can't seem to find it dangit google has felled me I keep getting fics, websites to other worm searches, or sciences websites about IRL worms) is though fics and quests so Half of these people I don't even know who is Circus anyway. well the vote gets here I'm most likely going to flip a irl coin between the first and last option, because pretended to be someone else doesn't feel right to me

I'm pretty sure that Taylor feels a lot better about her appearance after PS airbrushed her though? And if you're referring to Circus, doesn't she look convincingly female while in costume?
On the one hand, yes. On the other, Genderfluid cross-dresser to the point even Tattletale can't tell the difference.

I'm not seeing quite where the anger is supposed to be coming from. She pulled us to an empty restroom, so there's no "outing me in public".

Definitely excitement. When when when?! I can't find a date online.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 3rd: Reflection, 07-22-17. In Japan anyways, Don't know about the international release.

Tell the truth - Circus? Hell no. You are Calamity Witch.
Tell a lie - Circus. Sure. Better that than the truth.

Tough Choices I lean towards truth tho, I'd rather dither alittle "Well maybe I'm a parahuman maybe not depends on what you've got to say next" kinda thing but as is I'll lean towards truth.

I meant to mention this last night but fell asleep instead; Alexandria is going to see all the parallels now. She already thought Calamity Witch was a mini-me and now she's found out Calamity Witch is involved with a shady interdimensional conspiracy. AKA; mini-me has got her own Cauldron.

Calamity Witch even has her own Scion analog:
That ship that crashed? It was carrying a relic to their homeworld, some kind of ancient magic tech that they don't fully understand. When it crashed here, they were worried someone might turn it on accidentally and… break the planet or something, so they sent a team here to retrieve it.

With rephrasing, we can combine the first and last options:

I'm not a parahuman, but I am Calamity Witch.

(So, really, the first option.)

I feel like we should laugh, deny we're Circus, and say that she should try PHO if she really needs to contact a Cape who's not in the PRT, rather than pull random schoolmates into empty bathrooms.

How close are we to Kayleigh though? I suspect whatever Circus can do, Calamity Witch can do better.

Why you never have time to hang out with the rest of us.

Hrmm... considering she's also a cape and potentially has a drug gang to help run (not to mention the recent gang war), is this evidence against her being Cailleach? Say it isn't so @Silently Watches :cry: Though, given shes a high schooler, hard to say how much Daddy lets her be involved in the actual organized-crime side of things just yet. (Unless I'm forgetting this being asked already)

Alexandria/Taylor OTP!

Someone would like to speak with you,

Though, between the vibes here from Taylor fangirling, and how freaking calm and unflinching Alexandria seemed to take the news (with its adjustment to her elaborate Tinker theorizing) , I reaaaallly reaalllly want an Interlude now either from Alexandria's perspective of this very conversation, or her reactions afterwards. Especially with ,
mini-me has got her own Cauldron.
added in.

==============================
There might be something unexpected hidden behind a particular door

Is it just me, or does this sound like an enticement to string her along about Circus? Can't see what else that refers to, I mean. The mystery box, it siiiings to me.... but lies spiral and misunderstandings make for tragic comedy.

I have to say, aside from all the other (shipping) reasons, I reaaallly want her to be Cailleach now just to make this misunderstanding even funnier. I mean, they've fought together, talked together (how do Capes handle recognizable voices anyways??) , she comforted and guarded us mid-battle and we came to her family's aid. It could either be hilarious or dramatic, and I hope SW would keep it interesting either way. Luna plz

In any case, I don't think we should voice our suspicions about her being Cailleach. Either it comes up naturally during the following conversation, or we can address it another time. Not sure what our options are here for privacy (though, IDEA!! , would popping a Recursion Field be a good way to demonstrate proof of our capedom and test at the same time? :V ) , but no reason to risk outing a /villain/ just because she risked outing us.

Heh. Personally the best way to go about it would be "I'm not circus, but I may be able to help... what do you need?"
You've neither confirmed nor denied the parahuman bit, so you can make up anything you want later, you've told the truth without revealing who you are, and you've left yourself open to helping as a hero or covering for your identity and 'helping as a friend'.

[] Turn the tables
-[] So you would be Cailleach? You know, you need to work on the name if so.
-[] Ever actually spoken to Circus before?

Basically the Federation, just with all their technology based on mana instead of electricity.
Taylor, may I ask what criteria you used to determine that they are the Federation and not, for example, the United Nations Space Command or the People's Republic of Haven or even Cerberus?

looking for benevolent military organizations to head off accusations of an alien dictatorship
Ah, of course.
They're totally benevolent and totally not a dictatorship.
You know it because their admiral was nice, and only benevolent nations have nice admirals, right?
You know nothing about their form of government, but we already determined that they're benevolent, and benevolent nations cannot be dictatorship, right?

"Not everyone is as pessimistic as Dad." You toss your hair back. "Some people still understand what it means to offer a little trust."
Not everyone as composed as Alexandria.
Not everyone as short-tempered as your dad and love you as much as him to freak out when you drop such a bombshell on them.

"I need to talk to Circus."
:lol:rofl::lol:rofl::lol:rofl:

Taylor: "...Okay. I can neither confirm nor deny this, but let's imagine for a moment that you're talking with Circus. Why you need her?"
Kayleigh: "There is a very important McGuffin that was stolen from my family by the gangs. I know where they they stashed it, and I need you to steal it back. But you need to be stealthy, noone should suspect anything."
Taylor: "Stealthy. Of course, that I can do."

*next day*

Kayleigh: "Taylor, WTF?!"
Taylor: "What? I did what you wanted. Here's your McGuffin, and noone suspects anything. I was stealthy, as you asked."
Kayleigh: "Stealthy?! You blew up their stash and arrest all the gangsters!!!"
Taylor: "When everything on fire noone cares about little thievery. I think it's called Malfean stealth."

The logical thing to do, whether we spin the Not-Really-Circus or not, is asking why she wants to speak to them.
Personally, I think the bullet points should go like this:
  1. You're right and wrong at the same time, Kaileigh.
  2. Yes, I am a cape.
  3. No, I am not Circus.
  4. But anyway, what's the problem if you don't mind telling me - now that you have involved me?
In other words, a sort of "I'm Calamity Witch" option just slightly postponing the reveal.

Taylor, may I ask what criteria you used to determine that they are the Federation and not, for example, the United Nations Space Command or the People's Republic of Haven or even Cerberus?
Well, the TSAB can run a taco stand without it trying to kill all the staff, so they're not analogous to Cerberus.

I hope the events of this chapter royally fucked any plans Dragon had that involved hiding the TSAB.
Why?

Kayleigh must be desperate, because she doesn't strike me as being particularly stupid. Unless this is a 'psyche, kidding, I know you're really Calamity Witch' kinda moment. Which... Still isn't very funny actually.
I've read through the quest recently, so it could be discussed after "party" update... but is there any real big chance Taylor isn't suspected for being Calamity Witch (for anyone trying to figure it out) ? I mean, it was mostly highschool party, participants were invited, CW is supposed to be among participants, she is known for being from Brockton Bay. So, just skip through not so enormous list of partygoers, exclude anyone who is not post-endbringer broctonite female... How many names would be left on the list ?
