Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Try out your new powers – You were a good girl last night and came home when you were supposed to. You've earned the right to have a little fun.
-[X] Test the simulation – All the destruction of real life, none of the mess to clean up.

[X] Guardian Beast – Uplift a single animal's consciousness and give it combat and human forms. Like Mid-Childan Familiars, Guardian Beasts are totally loyal to their masters unless a truly unforgivable act is committed. Take note that though it will have its own Linker Core, it still fills it from yours.

Can Taylor have a Wolverine? She might find one in a zoo, or have it shipped. Might need to trim its fur since it's meant to live in cold places. They can subsist off a highly varied diet (there are a lot of different live and dead animal types!), grow up to the size of large dog (maybe not Bitch's mutant dogs), are independent, and have strong family bonds. Better than a cat IMO.

Loveable face!
Another way to make everyone think Tay-tay is cray cray.

Problem with that is getting Danny to agree and, more importantly, not getting mauled by the vicious critter we're trying to tame.

Best reasonably sized familiar animal in my opinion would be the honey badger. It's wolverine but way better. Bees? No fucks given. Concrete walls jailing you in? Work the environment to escape. Food hung away from easy access? No such thing. The only problem: they live in the African and Asian continents.

Here's a list of possible choices.
I'd go with either the beaver, dolphin, or swan.
Should be easiest to find.
Though Nazi Super Cow would be awesome.
If we simply get a cat, its combat form would likely be a sabertooth of some kind, or better yet an American lion.

Monitor lizards, despite their size and rarity, are not actually illegal to own in the US. I don't think Taylor could afford a Komodo dragon, not without collecting some major cape bounties first, but the combat form of a large enough monitor lizard might just be a proper dragon. Which would be awesome, and that's what really matters here.

True.
But imagine a giant swan.
With wings that big, It'd probably be able to beat around a lot of people, and create strong gusts of wind.
Plus it's beak.
Never forget the beak.
Hard and sharl enough to pierce iron perhaps?
And, it'd look very elegant, thus throwing peolle off at how tough it is.
Then as they laugh at the "pretty bird", Bam!, broken jaws and bones, with a few months stay at the hospital at the side.

Still, I would prefer either a Maine Coon, or Bernese Mountain Dog.

Bot of them are big and adorable.

there's a very good reason to pick a dog: Imagine Bitch's face when she meets our dog and it completely blows her off...

also it's kinda cynical but rescuing a dog from the E88's dog fighting ring will massively boost their devotion.

still even if we get the Guardian beast I'm with @LightMage let's get us a Mantis Shrimp, bright and colorful, and extremely dangerous.

Since conversation has dwindled, have a second progress report!

Still train in the simulation, still Guardian Beast. The poll will close tomorrow around 6:00 EST, so if you're wavering on which to pick, make your choice before then.

Guys, how about we switch from Petty Cure to Frost Beam? Anything to avoid a spell we won't be able to immediately use and train.

Disclaimer: I don't a give a shit for any argument people may have for Guardian Beast. My reasons boil down to "I don't want to." and "This is a quest where I'm supposed to have fun, why should I choose the option I know I won't like?"

So you urge people to tactical voting, because you do not like the winning option.

*sigh*

If you have valid reasons to give for voting something, then give them. Urging people to change their vote because you don't like something isn't that.

There will be vote results which I don't like. Let's use the first one as example. If knight type would have won, I would have been quite sad (no matter how much I love Signum) but I still would accept it and play (and not blame the healer/support voters for not changing to "better choice")

Thing is? Other people want to have fun too, and believe that choosing Guardian Beast will give them that more than the other options. I am one of those people. I urge tactical voting like you are doing for the same reasons... but I ALSO provide other reasons when I do so. Namely, the reasons why I feel that the option I want will be more fun. And also reasons why it is better regardless of what would be more fun, like how Skyborne Vengeance would have been totally OOC for a name given by Taylor. The latter type of reasons I give mostly because if we make everything really shitty then it won't be fun anyway.

Urging people to change their vote just because you personally don't like the other option, without giving any other reason why they should, is both gauche and unlikely to be effective. Both for this reason and the reasons given by the posters above me.

And I'm sure the rest of us have our reasons for picking Guardian Beast as well.
Sure, people argue for badassery, and combat forms, but personally?

I want to give Taylor a friend.

Because with all the bullying, her "best friend" betraying her, her painful distance from her Dad, and her self esteem issues, she really needs one.
