Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

Would it be possible to combine the Dragon's Hoard and Picking up the Pieces Sub-Quests if we got Dragon involved on recovering the Nanoha tech or would those still count as two separate things?
Separate things. A Dragon's Hoard is about talking to her "Tinker to Tinker" (which is doubly ironic considering she isn't actually a Tinker, either), but if you got her involved with Picking Up the Pieces, your conversations would be very focused, with you not telling her much about yourself. You can thank all the people who decided not to run with A Dragon's Hoard and also mentioned that they wanted to avoid talking to Dragon for fear of that info reaching Saint for determining that course of action, not that they don't have a point.

What if we picked both options this time, but next time only picked PutP with Dragon involved? Would it advance ADH then as well?

It… Hmm. Getting Dragon involved fits extremely well with PutP part 3, but ADH 2 has a specific scene that has to happen for that sub-quest to progress thanks to a certain detail that will be revealed to the characters. Not to mention, what you know for this last chapter would tie in with ADH 1. So… Urgh…

Okay. If you choose ADH 1 and PutP 2 next week and ADH 2 and PutP 3 the week after that, then yes, you can have the conversation that would have been the focus of ADH 3 happen during PutP 3, wrapping up the ADH sub-quest without spending another block of time on it. Or if you want to risk delaying PutP 3 until week 4, I could do the same; just as long as ADH 2 happens first. (Should they both be chosen for the same week, I'll be nice and put ADH 2 first.)

So what's a good questline schedule that we should take to make this work for all three? Any suggestions??
D-week: Current week
D-week+1: A Dragon's Horde, Picking up the Pieces 2
D-Week+2: A Dragon's Horde 2, Picking up the Pieces 3

Seriously, this is literally what SW outlined.
Yes, this means dropping the Echidna Questline, but I would consider it an Investment. An Investment in the greater power we will need to fight Noelle and the Travelers, the stronger parahumans out in the world, getting the Privateers some real effective equipment, and possibly even making Noelle a Mage.

Okay. So we take a break on Monster Mash for...two weeks, and then after that we either jump back into it, or if a new questline pops up from it decide what we're gonna do from there.

I'm fine with this plan, and hopefully anything gained in ADH will end up being beneficial enough to cut the time for Monster Mash.

Then we can maybe focus on something like dealing with the Fallen in BB. Maybe we can go back for Purity or something.

Aaaand make that three times in this day the thread's tempted Murphy.
Seriously, this is one of those sections of the quest that're on a hidden timer. We're probably not going to get to that point before the arc ends.

Eh, prolly. But it's always an option if we still have the choice to do it.

Also, good stuffs from SB:

So... If I'm reading that right...
This week (week 2) we should pick:
A Dragon's Hoard 1
Picking Up the Pieces 2

Then Week 3:
A Dragon's Hoard 2
Picking Up the Pieces 3

As this completes 2 quests in 2 weeks, then we can focus on tying up the case 53's and maybe checking in on Danny and the Privateers?

Alternatively I suppose we could go:

Week 2:
Picking Up the Pieces 2
A Dragon's Hoard 1

Week 3:
A Dragon's Hoard 2
Monstrous Menagerie 2
Week 4:
Picking Up the Pieces 3
Monstrous Menagerie 3

And hopefully tie up all 3 sub-quests in 3 weeks. The second path is riskier in the delay with Picking up the Pieces, but nets us a faster completion (assuming 3 parts) on the Case 53's. Then again, that would mean possibly confronting Noelle (if it is her) faster and running into an S-class sans Ragnarok.

Still, I originally thought we should delay ADH until we had some time to collect an analyse the ship fragments before contacting Dragon, but that we should do so. Lets look at what contacting Dragon could cause from worst to best.

The Dragon Slayers attack in an attempt to take Perfect Storm, kill Taylor and successful steal the magi-tech. This is extremely unlikely as when the chips are down, the dragon slayers should not be able to survive a combination of Recursion field and Solar Wrath set to lethal. Still, worst case Taylor dies and has to go through the regrettable process of having Perfect Storm rebuild her pull her sorry ass out of the grave.

The Dragon Slayers successfully steal Magi-tech from Dragon and the mercenaries are now armed with xenos technology. However, none of them know how to use magic assuming they even have linker cores. So, as shown with the ship fragment draining Taylor, Magi-tech, surprise surprise, requires mana to run. Still, if the Magi-tech works of mundane energy, then we've better armed the Dragon Slayers.

The Dragon Slayers attack and fail to steal technology despite disabling Dragon. Turns out Taylor, Samantha and anyone else there is perfectly able to fend off their assault. This has the down side of possibly revealing Dragon's true nature to Taylor. On the other hand, Taylor's likely to be sympathetic to Dragon as an AI given her close friendship with Perfect Storm.

Now, positives that could happen.

Dragon can assist with Salvaging the remains of Perfect Storm's ship.

Dragon could begin production of Magi-tech weaponry, such as the Belkan canon Silently Watches once mentioned which could one shot an Endbringer (admittedly at the cost of Earyh-Bet). But, basically begin producing weapons and her own armoured suits with Magi-tech to help Taylor finally kill the Endbringers.

the Dragon Slayers attack and Taylor accidentalies Saint. The world is now a better place.

And I'm kind of running out of steam, so I'll finish it there. Basically, with A Dragon's Hoard, I see the potential gains as worth the risk. And, if the Dragon Slayers do attack... as a chance for us questers to use our meta knowledge and have Taylor gank Saint.

Picking up the Pieces, Part 2 – Perfect Storm has been analyzing that piece of space wizard technology for a while. Ask for a progress report and offer whatever help you can give if it's needed.

Natural followup. Must do.

A Dragon's Hoard – Dragon wants to talk to you about Perfect Storm. Dragon. The only problem is that she wants to talk to you as one Tinker to another, and you aren't a Tinker. This conversation might require a little bit of intense planning and preparation.

Still not the time. There's Saint, and there's also the bit where we don't actually know any of this shit.

On the other hand Dragon is a favorite and this is the route to finding out her nature to free her. So we lose a bit, and gain much later.

Snark Hunt – According to the bulletin you received, the Fallen are causing trouble where the wall around Brockton Bay is being built. They… probably aren't going to be too much trouble for the PRT agents to hold off, but lend a hand to drive off the Endbringer-worshippers.

They probably ARE going to be trouble eventually.

Monstrous Menagerie – Those monsters had to come from somewhere. Have Perfect Storm do some digging, and then investigate where there seems to be the most activity. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Quest followup. Leaving it alone means we don't get the perks soon enough.
Fairly straightforward, just track the cases happening, and then run Wide Area Search.

Getting someone to collaborate on this may be nice though. The Travelers are not easy to fight.

Helping Out the Little Guy – Look for trouble in your new home and stop it. You can write in for someone to come along with you.
Hanging Out – This is a bit of an experiment. Pick someone to spend time with outside of combat. Write in the who, what, and where.

Recruitment pitch for Vista more or less.

Know Thyself – Spend a free period training in the simulator. May be chosen twice. Write-in for which spell to practice.

We probably want to do this at some point if we want to be stronk, but there's always things to do.

Well thanks to WoG, we can actually afford to put it off for one week and potentially have all three quests done by the fourth week.

Also, slightly off topic but I tried to find a picture of a witch in a string bikini that Taylor described.

Most of them were extremely NSFW, and a few were leery enough for me to not bother even trying to post it on here.

But they exitst though. I just want everyone to know that.
Look up 'modest string bikini' and you'll find less NSFW results. :p

Magitech Dragon would be pretty awesome, you know.

S'okay. Most of us were already looking for a good reason to switch over to ADH anyway, and if we do this we can optimize time spent doing stuff.

All I really want is to actually complete as many quests as possible before they time out. So this definitely works for me.

Technically speaking, the problem is probably not so much that you gave us info as that you gave us info on one specific thing.

We like picking options that we know something about. If you're going to say things, you'll need to say something about everything. Which could be a bit difficult. :V

It also really helps when doing one sub-quest has what should be a positive effect on a different sub-quest.
Even if it didn't reduce the amount of turns it required to complete, I would have still tried for it since we obviously have problems with retrieving things because of environmental hazards.
