Loyalty is its own Reward (A Traitor Legion Chapter Master Quest)

I think that ships should roll 1d50 + ship type bonus damage.
Type bonus would go somithing like this:
+5 Raider or Destroyer
+10 Frigate
+15 Light Cruiser/Strike Cruiser
+20 Cruiser
+25 Battle Cruiser/Battle Barge
+30 Battleship

This would also make sure that larger ships with heavier armament cause more damage.
You could also add other bonuses to this.
For example all astartes ships & important navy flagships would get additional +5 from better crew quality.
Looks interesting but the exact ship types need work. Battle barges are Astartes Battleships and should gave the same stats unless you go deeper in details. You are also misding heavy cruisers( older counterpart to battlecruiser) and Grand cruisers( rare ships in between a battlecruiser/heavy cruiser and full battleship).

With the orks the problem is that both in Durruti and Seibourc the equipment they looted was Guard equipment, which you can't use, with the Lubu PDF the same problem applies, and with the Eyes of the Mutator, while they are a relatively recent warband, they have been corrupted for millenia, so their equipment is mutated, full of Chaos sigils and corrupting effects or both.
So we are only getting loot from renegade and very recent traitor (chaos) marines
Edit: maybe more if we get desperate

Heavy cruisers don't get a bonus because they are just cruisers with a different construction scheme. This is played out in the Battlefleet Gothic games where there's a difference in how you optimally play them, but they aren't objectively any better.

Grand Cruisers may or may not deserve special consideration, but given that their only consistent difference from Battleships (some models of which are barely 8km long while Grand Cruisers average 7) is size, I say they are better represented by having less HP instead of a separate bonus. Say, if a cruiser is 200, a BC is 300, and a batttleship (or barge) is 500, then GCs are 400

Heavy cruisers are explicitly Battlecruiser equivalent, not regular cruiser. To the point where IN reserves rule which allow Navy to field some older, normally Chaos ships, Heavies are explicitly treated as BCs. No issue on the Grand cruisers, at least on this level of abstraction.

As mentioned above Heavy Cruisers & Battle Cruisers are effectively same. Grand Cruisers are basically Battle Cruisers built in more sturdy manner.
Astartes ships have a lighter armament in comparison to a equivalent size Imperial Navy ship with escorts being the exception, in return they are more heavily armored and faster.
Strike Cruiser might be same size as a Navy Cruiser but its armament is comparable to a Dauntless class Light Cruiser.
In fact Vanguard variant of the strike cruiser is armed even lighter than a light cruiser, being effectively a heavy escort (frigate+).

Ah. I thought you meant HC= cruisers. No disagreement then.
With regards to Astartes ship weapons they usually have bombardment cannons. Short range, but much nastier then equal strenght weapon battery. So I would hesitate to call their armanent significantly lighter. For Bbarges it is definitely much nastier then average battlecruiser.

Maybe a way to differentiate between mission killed and destroyed would work?
In the Angels of Death Prequel (it´s free to watch on GW´s youtube channel, go watch it, it´s actually quite good!) the Sword of Baal ends up pretty much mission killed, with most of the crew dead, but the ship itself is repairable

I agree. Hopefully we can drag the hulk back home even if it can't be repaired. There is a thing called salvage value after all.

The loss of the cruiser stings, since the way things are set up, I am not sure if we have enough money/favours to get it replaced and buy the escorts that we sorely need.

Maybe we should start renting out Marines to Rogue Traders for money/favours. It's not glamorous work, but we could probably spare a few.

Now I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure there is a whole process of decorrupting war materials that have been used by Traitors. As I swear I remember hearing about ships being reclaimed, and Cleansed I could be misremembering but I'm pretty sure that is a thing. And While we may have rolled bad on salvaging our ship this time, I'd like to bring up that we've defeated any ships many times and never seem to get a chance to salvage them either. Now I'm not sure if this is because we've constantly rolled horrible or what, but it really seems like ships have had an unreasonable propensity to completely detonate, and that's not typically what happens when a ship is mission killed barring some very specific very unlucky circumstances.

And another thing, I personally think the salvagability shouldn't necasarily be decided by a techmarine int roll, as that seems much more like a D100 luck roll situation, and the Int roll would be more to see if you can make the emergency repairs to get it back on it's own or if you'll have to dedicate resources to get it moved somewhere to repair it.

Turn 6 Action Results (764-768 M41)
Caroleus System, Aetelian Sector, 764 M41

After the Heresy, the Imperium´s military structure changed dramatically. How could it not, when those thought to be of unshakeable loyalty broke their oaths, when the Emperor´s Warmaster and closest son led a rebellion against him and wounded him so grievously, when the Traitors could tempt so many forces to turn their coats? Some of these decisions, like Guilliman breaking the Legions, you can see the sense of, even if you disagree with them. But there are others you just can´t comprehend why the High Lords or the Sire of the Ultramarines ever considered wise.

The split of the Imperial Army between Guard and Navy is one of those. Sure, the rationale between the decision was that if one officer from either branch turns traitor, they won't have a fully functional task force to start establishing their own renegade fiefdoms. That is a reasonable concern but it makes such a mess of logistics, troop movement and interservice rivalries that you don't personally consider the supposed benefit worth it. It is also why your intent of meeting the local highest officers of both of these branches requires you to travel to two different planets, because for some mind-boggling reason they can´t even agree on one planet to put their High Command in.

You push down your rising annoyance from showing on your face as you walk through the Imperial Guard Headquarters, helmet on the crook of your elbow and your Honor Guard right behind you. You reach the office of Lord General Tavisolta, and the four Stormtroopers guarding the door step aside, one of them opening the door to let you in, while your Honor Guard remains outside.

The office of the commander of all Guard Regiments in the Aetelian Sector is as richly decorated as you expected. The fur of some great beast has been made into a rug, one that covers most of the floor of the room. The wall to your side has a map of the Sector painted on it, planets colored according to their strategic importance. The other one has an actual painting, showing a bunch of guardsmen standing around a regimental flag firing at some enemy out of the painting's focus, their officer raising a power sword into the air with a defiant shout. There are no windows in the room, its source of light being a chandelier made of gold, the wax of its candles dripping onto the pelt in the floor. Near an ornate clock sits a richly decorated wooden bureau in the center of the room, absolutely covered in data slates and parchment. Behind it sits a man that appears to be in his thirties, although not even rejuvenant treatments can remedy the stress lines in his face and a receding blonde hairline. Dull hazel eyes with bags underneath rise from one of the reports in his left hand as he looks at you, his right grasping a huge mug of recaf before taking a long gulp, the dark liquid staining his thin mustache before he wipes it with a nearby napkin.

"Greetings Chapter Master Severus. It is a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance." Says Lord General Adolphus Tavisolta as he stands from his seat and moves towards you, offering his hand for a handshake.

You take it, noticing some respectable strength in his grip. "The feeling is mutual, Lord General."

A small but noticeable smile appears in his face as he takes a seat once more. "I apologize for not being able to offer you a seat, but we don´t have any fit for yourself." You both chuckle at the comment before he continues speaking. "Onto more serious matters, I would like to thank you for your chapter's assistance these last three decades. The situation is already stressful enough with your help, without it the Sector would be in dire straits."

Your eyebrows raise at that. "While I appreciate how much you value our assistance, I don´t find it necessary for you to exaggerate, Lord General. For starters I don´t have enough marines to have such influence."

Tavisolta looks almost pained by your words. "I wish I was exaggerating Chapter Master. Our forces are stretched thin putting out fires in the Sector. Between the Damocles Crusade and the Tyrannic War not only have plenty of local regiments been assigned out of the Sector by Segmentum Command, but afterwards they have not returned and the replacement regiments that they promised me have not arrived. With your assistance in promptly speeding up conflicts I´ve been able to reroute troops far more easily, but if those conflicts had dragged on we may have started to see serious losses in manpower and even planets." He drinks again from his mug, draining it before setting it on the desk again. "I´ll be honest, Chapter Master. For us collaborating with you is not only advisable, it is a strategic imperative." He looks at a clock and frowns. "I am terribly sorry but I must cut this meeting short, I´ve got a meeting with my staff to discuss the future distribution of forces in five minutes."

"Mind if I accompany you? Strictly as an advisor of course." You ask him.

He frowns momentarily before shrugging. "Sure, you might have additional insight that we have missed, and someone of your experience will be useful."

As you both step out of the room, you muse on how the meeting has gone well and yet the situation looks bleaker than it was before.

-New Contact gained: Lord General Adolphus Tavisolta (Good-)

Lezo System, Aetelian Sector, 767 M41

Despite your Chapter having fought alongside him twice, this is the first time you meet face to face with Lord Admiral Hanno Adherbal. You are currently standing in one of the observation decks of the Heretic´s Bane, with both your Honor Guard and navy armsmen forming a perimeter around you, keeping anyone else at a distance. The Lord Admiral is an older man of small stature. Long, curly white hair is carefully styled behind his back, with a short goatee in a strong jaw and brown eyes under bushy eyebrows and surrounded by a weathered, tanned face.

"It is good to put a face to the voice, Chapter Master." He comments as you both stare at the starry void.

"Likewise." You reply plainly. You think about inquiring about why they didn't assist your forces during the hunt for their renegade admiral, but he is the one to bring it up.

"First of all, regarding Sakarbaal, I must thank you for the intel about his new command over the local pirates." He states, still looking outside. "If we hadn't learned that, some of my admirals could easily walk into an ambush, ignorant of the forces he now leads."

"Sharing that information is beneficial to us all. Although it would not be needed if some of those admirals you mentioned had accompanied my Master of the Fleet, instead of refusing to coordinate with us." You reproach him. You expect him to bluster in response, to grow angry, to make up excuses.

It surprises you that he just lowers his head and sighs, a pain expressed clear in his face. "It shames both the Navy and myself, but there is little I can do about that."

"Is Battlefleet Aetelian depleted?" You ask, his tone reminding you of your conversation with the Lord General Tavisolta.

He chuckles without mirth. "Depleted? No, Battlefleet Aetelian is stronger than it was when I assume its leadership. The problem lies in who leads all that strength." He finally looks at you, his head raised in an awkward angle as he stares at your face. "How old do you think I am, Chapter Master?"

The question seemingly has nothing to do with the topic of the conversation, but you still examine him in detail. He looks old to be sure, but what really clues you in are the telltale marks of extensive rejuvenant treatments, the liver spots that you can spy on his hand, the rhythm of his heartbeat and the faint smells that neither cologne nor careful grooming can hide from an Astartes senses. "Three to four centuries, I would say."

"328 years old." Confirms Adherbal with a shallow nod. "Rejuvenant treatments no longer work for me, at best I have four or five decades left. And every single one of my subordinates knows it." He spits on the floor. "So they are all desperately trying to get more honors and glory in order to take my place once I breathe my last. Apparently sharing the credit with Space Marines is not good enough for them. Idiotic bastards."

"How can you allow such insubordination Admiral" You ask him in disbelief of such blatant disregard of their duties, the only response from Adherbal being another mirthless chuckle.

"You´ve never interacted much with Imperial Navy personnel, haven't you?" He asks rhetorically. "Most of them are from noble families with plenty of interests in the Navy, both from Lezo and from my homeworld of Gadir. If I tried to punish every act of backroom politicking and self-interested skullduggery then I wouldn't have any Warp-damned officer above the rank of Captain!" He takes a breath to calm himself. "Besides, I even ordered them to work with you, to work together, and all I got from them was a variety of excuses about how their Astropaths didn´t understand the transmission or how Warp Currents delayed them and they "just" missed your vessels."

You´re deeply unsettled by his words. You know, and you have seen personally, how much the Imperium has fallen from the standards of the Great Crusade, but the behavior Adherbal is describing is a new low, reminding you of some of the conflicts between captains in the VIIth, except less bloody. "Don´t you have a chosen successor? Someone well-connected, skilled or experienced enough to make the others back off?"

"I had and I was about to announce it publicly, Himilco Sakarbaal. It is one of the reasons why everyone is so eager to put him down." He must know the question you're thinking, because he answers before you can ask it. "No, I don't know why he deserted. We suspect chaotic corruption but we have no concrete proof. As for another candidate, there are a few, my nephew among them, but none of them is nowhere near as good as Sakarbaal was."

There is a moment of silence, the old admiral taking a moment to compose himself.

"Do you think he might fall under the aegis of the Eyes of the Mutator?" You finally ask, receiving a shake to the head in response.

"With how corruptive the heretic's sorcery is, I can't truly dismiss the possibility, but I don't think so. They almost killed him once or twice during his career." He looks back at the void outside. "My Admirals might be reticent to assist you, but I know my duty. Next time you try to hunt him down, I´ll be there with this ship." He promises, and you believe him, placated by the certainty of his voice.

Braicam System, Aetelian Sector, 766 M41

For what you recall from previous experience, most of the myriad ways different worlds use to solve disputes via duels to the death take place outside, beneath either the sun or the moon. One of the exceptions from that rule turns out to be Braicam, as the everpresent rain makes a miserable affair out of spectating the noble and proper tradition of two men killing each other as a tool of the legal system. As such, trials by combat in Braicam take place on the inside, shortly after dinner in order to grant whoever loses a last meal.

It is why you and your Honor Guard are currently inside the feasting hall of Castle Mannor, seated at the right of the King in a place of honor and the source of endless muttering from the rest of the attendants, who speculate for the purpose of your visit. He had been pleased when you had arrived, and your demand for a tithe of recruits for your chapter in exchange of your representation has not put a damper on that mood, King Tristan agreeing to the price enthusiastically. You take a sip of wine from a goblet, drawing some amusement from the astonished looks several nearby nobles are throwing towards Thrax as he messily devours a whole boar. Numa wasn´t seated, choosing instead to regale some nearby kids with tales of his service, the children's eyes shining with wonder as he speaks of battles in distant stars. Martellus and Lepidus were rowdily singing along some chanson made in honor of the actions of the 7th Company, Alesios too distracted berating a servant for his conduct for him to call them out on it. Garum was speaking to the noble on his left, apparently discussing tactics judging by who he used both cutlery and food to represent troops on the table.

"Constantinus!" Called out the King, a herald dressed in yellow and green appearing before him. "Announce the end of the feast and the start of the trial." The herald nods before stepping away. Lepidus and Martellus finish their singing and approach you.

"Is that man named after Logos?" Asks an amused Lepidus.

"He is, and from what I hear plenty more people bear his name." You answer. "Apparently it is the only name the Braicamians heard of our brothers."

"Well, it is no wonder they heard his." Japes Martellus before putting on an exaggerated serious face. "Of course, we can´t tell Logos this, he would be completely unbearable." Both of them laugh loudly at that, making you shake your head fondly at their behavior.

"HEAR YE, HEAR YE NOBLE LORDS AND LADIES OF BRAICAM!"" Shouts the herald, grabbing the attention of all the attendants and quieting the conversations in the hall. The herald is aptly named, you conclude, as good as projecting his voice for his name sake. "THE FEAST WILL COME TO AN END, FOR NOW IT IS TIME FOR THE TRIAL BY COMBAT TO BEGIN, REGARDING THE SEIZING OF THE LANDS NEAR THE RIVIERE ROUGE OF HOUSE DUPONT BY KING TRISTAN THE THIRD DU MARTEL!"

A group of servants quickly but efficiently makes space for the feuding combatants, removing tables, chairs and meals at great speed. You, your marines and the rest of the attendants cluster in the edges of the hall, ready to spectate the incoming duel. The herald reappears, clearing his voice before speaking again.

"THE CHAMPIONS WILL NOW BE CALLED TO STAND FOR COMBAT! REPRESENTING HOUSE DUPONT, COUNT PIERRE DUPONT, LORD OF HOUSE DUPONT AND KNIGHT OF BRAICAM!" A young man confidently strides forward, clad in plate armor and wielding a greatsword until he stands five meters away from the herald.

"AND REPRESENTING KING TRISTAN THE THIRD, CLAUDIUS SPATHA, CHAMPION OF THE MIST SHRIKES CHAPTER!" The hall explodes into shocked and excited muttering as Claudius strides forward, helmetless and seemingly unarmed. The confident look of his opponent fades, and you can see him tremble as Claudius squares off against him with a smirk. "AS THIS IS A DUEL TO THE DEATH, THE REPRESENTATIVES NOW HAVE THEIR LAST CHANCE TO BACK DOWN!" The trembling of Claudius' opponent trembling becomes more noticeable but to your surprise, and the visible disapproval of the crowd, he doesn´t retreat. The castle priest steps forward, and pronounces a quick benediction on the man´s weapon, which seems to somewhat calm him. The priest moves to do the same to Claudius but he stops when he sees he´s unarmed.

"Milord, we cannot proceed with the trial if you are not properly armed." He says, Spatha smile widening even further in response.

"On the contrary friend, I am armed appropriately for the occasion." He opens his left fist, revealing an eating knife he must have picked from the table. The priest looks at it dumbfounded before gathering his wits and saying its own benediction to it. Claudius starts doing tricks with the knife as the priest steps away before grabbing it with his thumb and index finger and pointing it at his opponent. "On guard good sir."

Dupont fear is replaced by befuddlement, which is then replaced by indignation. "Are, are you mocking me?" He asks incredulously.

"Yes, yes I am." Replies Spatha. The Braicamian knight puts his weapon on a guard, the greatsword tip pointed at Spatha's head. The herald looks at the both of them before speaking up."

"BOTH CONTESTANT ARE NOW READY, MAY THE GOD-EMPEROR FAVOR HE WHO IS IN THE RIGHT! BEGIN!"

Sir Dupont charges forth with a roar thrusting with his blade at Spatha's face. The man is skilled, you have to admit. The attack is fast and precise, with enough momentum to cause serious injury if it struck. Of course, Spatha is unfazed, moving at a speed that shocks everyone in the hall and gripping the tip centimeters away from his face.

"Not bad." Says Spatha conversationally, even as Dupont tries to free the weapon from his grasp. "But I am sure you can do better than that, try again." He pushes the weapon back, making the knight stumble before he finds his balance, attempting this time to slash at his neck, Spatha grabbing the blade again. "Not good enough." Comments Claudius again. "Come on, again."

The "trial" goes on like that for a few minutes in that manner, the poor knight trying to strike down your chapter champion, only for your Spatha to catch the blow with a pithy comment before letting him try again. By the end of it the crowd is watching the mockery of a duel in complete silence, the knight heaving in exhaustion as he struggles to raise the blade again.

"Well as entertaining as this has been, I think we have concluded that your offense could use further training. Now let's see how good your defense is." Before anyone can react Claudius closes the distance and rams the knife into the eye slit of the count´s helmet, denting the faceplate as his armored hand impacts it. "Uhm, not good enough apparently." Quips Spatha as the dead body falls to the floor in a clank of metal.

Nobody speaks, still struggle to process the speed of Claudius' strike. The herald is the first to do so, and proceeds to play his part. "THE GOD-EMPEROR HAS SPOKEN! THE SEIZURE OF THE LAND BY THE KING IS A COMPLETELY LEGITIMATE ACT, AND NONE MAY DISPUTE THE WISDOM OF IT." As the priest gives the dead noble´s body the last rites, your victorious champion moves towards you, standing to your left."

"You seem to have fun." You state drily, getting a laugh out of Spatha.

"Somewhat." He admits, before his mien loses it´s good humor. "Besides, it is good that I could fulfill my role as a champion before the damn seizures kill me."

You frown at that comment. Spatha's condition had worsened as time went on, the seizures more severe in both duration and damage wreaked upon his body, the champion requiring Valzadai´s attention every time afterwards.

Making repairs on space-faring vessels without the assistance of proper docks was a challenging prospect, but one that Karark Zel had been able to solve. The solution had been to place the damaged ships on orbit and then shuffle supplies on board via Thunderhawk and Stormbird for the Technmarines and serfs to use, as they repair the ship. It wasn´t easy and it surely wasn´t fast, but it allowed the chapter fleet to keep it´s fleet maintained.

As the Bird of Prey tows what remains of the Shrouded Blade, the Master of the Forge of the Mist Shrikes is forced to admit that the method might not suffice in this case. Not only is the hull keeping it´s structural integrity by the Grace of the Omnissiah, but every single system the ship possessed is unusable or just missing. As much as it pains him, he does not possess the appropriate tools or facilities to bring the ship back to service.

His lamentations on the state of the ship are interrupted by the entry of Valzadai into the forge. "You´ve been investigating the Luctusian Refuges, what have you learned from them."

"Not much I´m afraid." Replies Karark Zel, undeterred by his fellow ex-legionnaire blunt manners. "The systems are complex and the mayors of the Refuges have been… reluctant to allow me permission, as for the ones that the Imperium can manufacture, their filtering process is not tailored for the Mist, which is why they require maintenance every two Luctusian days. Why do you ask?"

"In order to see if you could grant me some additional insights on the Mist counter-agents, but it seems like you can´t." Valzadai hands a datapad to Karark Zel as he speaks. Intrigued, Karark Zel starts reading, only to smile widely when he processes the information inside.

"You've managed to prevent further degeneration of the geneseed once placed into a dreadnought. Excellent work Valzadai." The Chief Apothecary shrugs at Karark Zel´s praise.

"Not truly. Not only do we lack a true test for the method until Spatha´s condition worsens, but even then it´s not a truly surefire method. Besides, the calculations might prove inaccurate due to outside meddling. I will have to due more test on the samples I have." Says Valzadai as he leaves as abruptly as he arrived.

There is currently a full company of space marines making use of the sparring cages in the fortress-monastery. This is something typical, if perhaps not with so many marines at once. What's truly strange about this situation is how the sparring marines are fighting. Their movements are sluggish, their reactions slow, and the strength behind their blows lacking. The only officer supervising this is the Master of Recruits, at least until you approach him.

"What company is currently doing this? The 10th?" You ask him, Kuthil nodding in response. "For how long have they been going at this?"

Myrok takes a moment to check his armor chronometres. "1 week, 5 days, 14 hours, 23 minutes and 49 seconds."

You nod, idly seeing as one of the marines, exhausted, fails to dodge a blow and falls to the floor in a heap. He tries to stand, stabbing his combat blade into the floor to support himself, but he lacks the strength to do so. "Uninterrupted?"

"Of course." Says Myrok as he moves towards the fallen marine, his sergeant and sparring partner leaning against the cage bars. "Alaudae, you´ve been the first of the company to fall down. You´ll be the first to participate in the remedial exercises, once you recover."

"What" Asks Alaudae as he gasps for air. "What remedial exercise?"

"A simple one-on-one sparring match against me, until I fall exhausted." He replies aloud so that the rest of the company can hear him. "The next 49 marines that fall down will also have to attend the remedial exercises, and I warn you now, if you fall down, I won´t stop hitting you."

You suppress a laugh as the rest of the 10th company stiffens, before throwing themselves into their sparring with a last burst of speed, unwilling to face down Kuthil in such circumstances. Kuthil moves back to your side, and a stray thought pops into your mind.

"I´ve been in my office all day, I could use a spar right now." You comment.

Myrok looks at you and smiles. "It would be my pleasure to be your partner, Severus."

Twenty minutes later you´re both standing inside one of the sparring cages, it´s previous occupants currently unconscious outside of it. Both of you remain on your guard, inactive chainglaives pointed at each other as you study his stance for weakness the same way he does yours.

"What have you been occupied with today, so as to remain in your office for most of the day?" Asks the former Headsman. You suspect that he's asking in order to distract you, as he is not one for idle chatter.

"Going through some reports on the Ecclesiarchy in the sector." You reply at the same time you throw a thrust at his chest to probe his defenses, which he deflects quickly before doing the same with a sweeping slash to your legs.

You go to parry it, but it turns out to be a feint as the blade suddenly moves towards your right arm. "I thought you had already met with the Cardinal." You move your arm out of the way, Myrok`s weapon cutting through empty air.

"That was to take the measure of the Cardinal, but there are a few details that couldn´t be gleaned from that meeting." Your words are accompanied by you attempting to stab him in the gut, but he grabs your weapon by the haft, yanks it away from your grasp and places his own on your neck.

"Like what?" He asks as he removes the weapon.

You move towards your weapon, picking it for the group. "For example, while the Ecclesiarchy was as plagued by infighting as seemingly every other institution in this sector, he managed to crush all opposition decisively, and earned the unconditional support of the Sororitas we relieved in Creidamh. If he says jump, every single priest asks how high."

"Then it would be good to earn his good graces." Concludes Myrok as you prepare for another bout. You spend the rest of the evening sparring, the men of the 10th collapsing in the meantime. He beats you most of the time, but it is still a valuable experience all the same.

-Progress made in the Training of the Chapter serfs 1/3

The information we´ve forwarded towards Refuge Security and the PDF has borne fruit. A planet guide crackdown has been enacted in all settlements and while we cannot ever lower our guard regarding the threat of Chaos, we have ample proof that whatever cultists might have evaded capture are few and completely disorganized. with all the cult leaders we were aware of killed.

Speaking of the PDF, between securing routes and recolonization efforts of Schronienie and Kryjowka (the Refuge the cultists were using as hideout) they are finding themselves hard pressed, with multiple regiments suffering grievous casualties.

As thanks for our efforts in keeping the planet free from cults and in reclaiming more settlements for habitation, the Luctusian government has decided to divert some of their manufacturing capabilities into supporting some of our logistical needs.

-BP granted by Luctus increases by 25

Q.M notes: Turns out that my muse has decided that the chapter comes out earlier. Tell me what planet you´re interested in seeing in the Guide next.

Maybe the planet of IG Sector High Command?

Useful.

Neophyte Implantation success rolls 1d23=16+6(23x0.25)=22
Techmarine candidates 1d4-2=4-2=2
Apothecary candidates 1d4-2=2-2=0
Chaplain candidates 1d4-2=4-2=2
Recruitment rolls 2d100/2= 60+80/2= 70
Psyker recruitment rolls 1d4-2=4-2=2
We got no new Apotecary candidates, but we got a maximum of Techmarine, Chaplain and Librarian candidates. Not bad.
Implantation succes and new Recruitment rolls are pretty good as well.

A few things to note.

1. Grigori Yefimovich will be returning in the next update, so we'll at last have our Chief Librarian.
2. The new Chaplain candidates will be important as the Chapter fights Chaos more often now.
3. We're literally 9 points away from the next level of Toughness. Tragic I tell ya.

I wonder if they'll write a poem about this one? How the emperors angels descended to fight for the king and law humiliated the fool who would disobey his king and the king in his gratitude send Braicams greatest sons to fill the Mist Shrieks ranks.

Valzadai Intelligence roll 8d10= 6, 2, 4, 5, 4, 4, 4, 3= 1 Success 1+1= 2/100

The fuck is this?
The fuck is this?

You'd think these two were a pack of fresh-faced PDF wankers who barely knew which end of a wrench or scalpel to hold, come on man :anger:

At least we got the ship towed back and can probably repair it soon. Only by one point, but fuck it I'll take what I can get.

Technically, it's two points, but yeah I don't get why all of these rolls are below 6, I genuinely don't understand where all the dice favour went.

Guard leadership seems fine but damn navy is a ticking bomb.

If I'm doing the math right then in total we got 160 neophytes this turn. Hope those 90 Braicam don't cause too much culture clash.

Also

LOL besides that sound like the PDF is currently badly mauled

Dark age tech seem to really hate being study.

@ThunderOwl Would "Help build space infrastructure" be a viable use of our Major Favor with the Blazing Wardens?
You could, although due to being a Space Marine Chapter their infrastructure isn't going to be as sizable as the Mechanicus, and it will take more time to be built.

Well, I gotta admit those rolls suprised me too, but one of the things of running a quest is that we all bow down to the Dice Gods in the end.

well, at least getting willpower up was a good move in hindsight thanks to our new psykers and chaos corruption that just showed up this turn. And the fact we were less then 10 points away from T 5 hurts so bad man. Still next meeting should go to the two forge worlds in order to get some good deals for our equipment, and hopefully roll high for our implementation to get a hundred plus new marines to be joined under a new company.

I've got a question @ThunderOwl Are dreadnoughts only going to be named characters? I couldn't help but notice that despite all of our losses, we've never had a random marine get interred into a dreadnought.

-Hull of the Shrouded Blade recovered.
Thank you for allowing us to salvage our SC while it'll still be a pain to fully bring into service again it's bound to be better then trying to get a new SC entirely.

And hey 2 new Psykers! Nice our Libarius is slowly growing and right as our first Psyker is coming back as well!

And our second one as well, once we get our chapter master, we get a grand total of 4 psykers.
