Loyalty is its own Reward (A Traitor Legion Chapter Master Quest)

Maybe I'm missing something, but who the fuck are you talking about?
Remember that Planetary Governor we basically extorted at the behest of the Sector Governor? The fellow whose dynasty has been contesting the dominance of the Sector Governor's? This is his planet.

This, essentially.

There's another reason as well. Right now we are constantly putting out fires left and right. There's threats popping up each turn and we are juggling our military operations to keep the Sector straight with running our Chapter.

This is a chance to get a step closer to eradicate an established enemy faction to the Sector. The Eyes of the Mutator have so far proven to be the major naval threat, constantly active and occupying our forces. Taking them out opens up options.
Which is why I'm not recommending to ignore the pirates this turn? I just want some ground forces present, which we can free up by not doing Faisal.
Also, it could be Eldar Corsairs instead of Dark Eldar, in which case the target would be the shipping lanes instead of the population.
Pretty sure the action description would have mentioned if this was a largely naval threat. Regardless, we can have our Astartes serve as marines on at-risk merchant ships should that be the case.

Okay, so I wasn't misunderstanding you, we were in fact talking about the same thing and the same people.

Why do you think we can't spare a couple squads to run interference on Faisal? Give them two squads, a Thunderhawk and maybe a Techmarine, have them run interference?

@Nicholas Brooks Good change to the plan so far, though I would recommend adding some heavy weapons to the Seibourc team - at least once a lascannon came in handy for sniping a warboss too tough for bolters in one of the more recent updates.

The only other thing weighing on my mind is that maybe we should switch it up a bit; instead of sending the lion's share to Faisal and leaving a bit or nothing for Zatloczony, send the lion's share to Zatloczony and leave a couple squads to Faisal to run guerilla warfare. I agree we shouldn't risk our ships trying to seriously fight Eldar in space as we currently stand, but if they are just doing raiding we should be able to give strict orders to guard the important bits and don't pursue too far. It won't look good leaving some out to dry like that, but it'll look better than not coming at all.

@Nicholas Brooks, the revised plan looks good.
I do like this here:
---[X] Fabricator-General of Smilnay Nikola Delta-Null 6 (Adeptus Mechanicus)
----[X] Request the manufacture of both grounded and airborne vehicles for the Chapter as well as a Dreadnought Chassis
Hm... since we are going for Smilnay
"We´ve got partnerships with the regiments of the Imperial Guard and the Knights of House Lothbrok and our equipment has superior performance to that of the ramshackle botch-jobs of Milan. We also have the experience and capability needed to produce Astartes equipment."
Want to throw in that they can add our general equipment like armor, Stalker Bolters, cloaks, etc. or do you think we can assume that this comes automatically?

Not sure how much good that would do. Two squads is a pretty small force to deal with an entire rebellion, especially since it sounds like the King has a fair amount of popular support. Still, it's definitely worth thinking about.

I'm working on that. This is something of a juggling act.

To be fair that means assassinating him would probably cripple the rebellion.

I'm not sure how exactly the negotiations will go. It could be a "fixed pie" system where if you ask for more things you get less of each. So if we asked for vehicles and then also asked for a bunch of power weapons and plasma guns and Iron Halos, we'd get less vehicles than if we just asked for those. So I'm going the safe route and just asking for vehicles, since I think it's fair to say that those are, aside from ships, our biggest peeves.

Edit:
@Hunter531 @CanYouMeme @Czes

Plan has been updated. Let me know what you think.

So we are repairing the Shrouded Blade in-house? That raises some questions..... If we already had that capacity, why do we need to expend the favor with the Blazing Wardens for orbital infrastructure?
As I understand it, we can fix it, but we don't have the infrastructure to outright build new ships. With the Blazing Wardens' help, we'll have the ability to build Escorts in-house... Though that did make me realize something sorta odd.

@ThunderOwl Going forward, the BP costs for our Armory may need some retooling. the BP required to make 1 Stormbird (or 2 Thunderhawks) is 400, that's more than it takes to repair the Shrouded Blade.

Due to the vote being so unanimous for now, I'll give the vote a few more hours before closing in case a new plan pops up. If it doesn't, I'll write the short 0.5 prelude after closing.

Lezoan Campaign 0.5
Luctus System, Aetelian Sector 769 M41

The Fortress Monastery is in a frenzy of activity. Serfs loaded supplies and ammunition unto Thunderhawks and Stormbirds, which departed to orbit as soon they were filled, only to return as fast as possible. The techmarines, led by Karark Zel, made last minute checks over the ground vehicles and weapons in the armory, waving censers and chanting litanies of efficiency. The apothecaries prepared their equipment for the casualties the Chapter's wars will have, sharpening nartheciums and mixing their cocktails of stimulants and treatment injections, Valzadai going over the data that Yefimovich had acquired in his service to the Deathwatch about the capabilities of Genestealer Hybrids. The Chief Librarian in question was meditating on his chambers, going over some of the lessons Joshua had imparted on him during his mentorship.

You and the rest of Chapter Command are gathered in your habitual meeting room. Grim expressions are placed in all your faces as you read transcripts of the astropathic calls you´ve received.

"The situation in Lezo is grim, but it could be worse." Concludes Secutor as he places the vellum back on the table. "It appears that the warning you gave them helped in that they weren´t completely caught off guard."

"Not enough." Growls Hostilius. "Apparently they only kept the heightened state of alarm for about a year. An unacceptable level of laxity."

"Its not like they had any timeline to work with." Utica says on their behalf. "Besides, at least the Lord Sector insisted on increasing funding and training for the PDF, which is part of why they weren´t overwhelmed immediately."

You see how the scowl on Hostilius' face deepens, but you interject before he can escalate the conversation. "Do we know the status of Lord Cartagena? And of Inquisitor Harker?"

"The governor Palace is still holding, although it seems that they enemy is focusing his efforts in breaching the palace." Answers Tullius. "As for Inquisitor Harker, he is currently on Jalente, but it seems that some of his acolytes were present on the planet. He urges us to contact them when we arrive on the planet."

You nod. If the acolytes are still alive, they will have useful information on the Genestealer Hybrids movements and positions. A hive world provides endless places for the vermin to hide, and according to the intelligence Yefimovich has forwarded them, killing the xeno creature in charge of the cult would be a killing blow for the insurrection. As for the Lord Sector, not only would his death sent the higher politics of the whole Sector into chaos, but would also be a loss of a well-positioned, if for now hidden ally.

"WHAT ABOUT THE IMPERIAL NAVY?! SHOULDN´T THEY SENT AT LEAST THEIR ARMSMEN IF THEIR HEADQUARTERS ARE THREATENED?!" Constatinus asks with his usual tone.

It is Gallienus who answers with a shrug. "Who knows, the call doesn´t even mentioned them."

"Nevertheless, there are other problems with this situation." Points out Numerian with a grim countenance. "We will be stretched thin to respond to the calls for assistance we´ve received, including leaving some of our forces stranded until we can assemble an extraction."

"We are." You readily admit. "However, it is necessary. Not even with the perilous situation on Lezo can we afford to turn aside other fronts where we are needed."

"Still, with a major xeno insurrection on a Hive world as important as Lezo we will need more forces to assure victory." Declares Catilina softly. "Perhaps it might be wise to call for assistance from other Imperial Forces in the Sector."

Now you have the chance to call for assistance from the various military forces available, to assist you either on the Lezoan Campaign or in other deployments. Calling in a favor gives you automatically an ally detachment. For the cases where you don´t have a favor, Severus will make a fellowship roll to call for assistance, with a bonus or malus to the number of successes needed depending on the relationship with each member.

-[] Write-in who do you want to call for assistance, if any, and for what purpose.

Q.M Notes: As I said, a really short update to serve as introduction. Will leave a day or two to vote before writing the deployments and the campaign proper.
