Interlude - Birth
The Realm of Souls is a reflection of the material world. Every act in the material world has consequences and reactions in the Realm of Souls. The greater the act, the greater the reaction caused. Look no further than the Chaos Gods themselves born after the greatest war ever waged in their home.

But that is also a double edge, for while the realm of the material can affect the immaterial, so can the immaterial affect the material. And what a greater act it was than the death scream of a god? Hundreds of thousands of years ago, the greatest of all Dragons was slayed by a huntress and his death scream was heard even in the depths of the warp.

But each action has a reaction and as Draugnir's blood was spilled across both realms of existence, something was born, waiting to mature as the centuries passed. Much like another of the great Daemon Kings of the Warp, it was born of the act of murder.

But unlike its fellow Daemon King, it was not born over the murder of a mortal but the murder of a god. But both of them were now forever bound to their respective species in a way that could never be truly rewritten. And as the continuous cycles continued, it grew with strength as it continued to mature itself.

But even it would take a small eternity for it to truly awake itself if the Great Four had deemed it necessary to fasten its existence. The Great Gods of Chaos had grown both wrathful and amused by the existence of the reborn godling of Dragons, but those whose gaze locked on Dracul's Realm of Shadow were no less than both Khorne and Tzeentch.

The death of one of his Exalted enraged Khorne but also spurred him to act against the newborn god much more than before. But the Tzeentch stopped all his acts of brutality short for much of the Great Changer's plans depended on the Dragon. The decision of his brother to stop his acts of revenge led to Khorne sending more legions of blood and war against him than normal until at least Tzeentch reached out to not only him but also the rest of his siblings.

All of them had something to gain. Nurgle hated the fact that the Dragon had brought so much change and how as time passed, he would eliminate many of his diseases and plagues with careful innovation. Slaanesh felt delighted that the Dragon's mere existence was bringing such an effort of religious extremism to the part of his followers, even if it was more controlled than the Prince of Pleasure would have liked.

But all of them could agree that the only one who could prove to be an actual threat to their entertainment was the Dragon. The Pantheon of Man was weak, the Asur completely divided thanks to both divine and mortal actions, and the Dawi were slowly on the decline even as they tried their best to safeguard their people and prepare for the End Times through their preparations were not as hidden as they would like to think.

So, they made a bargain. Deals were struck, and pacts made, and the warp shuddered as the Four went to act together, by reaching out to the slumbering Daemon King born of the murder of the Dragon God Draugnir by the Asur Goddess Anath Raema. And they gave him power for him to finally awake.

The daemon emerged from his cocoon of death and murder with a mighty roar felt across entire regions of the warp. The daemons that had lived close to him were all destroyed in an extant as the Murder of Draugnir stalked his birthplace.

And in his dark realm felt a change in the very soul of his children, alarmed his gaze scoured the warp until he found the source of the disturbance he felt in his very being.

He found it.

And it found him.

As the two locked gazes, an understanding passed through them, something that only they and a few others would ever know. Ranath the Murder of Draugnir bellowed out a roar of challenge towards his hated enemy and prey, as Dracul retreated to his realm of shadow to plan around the new piece of the great game.

And so, the Chaos Gods laughed as the new piece already makes its changes by striking worry in the reborn father of dragons, but even they still keep watch, not only on both Dragons as they shall soon decide who is the predator and who is the prey. But also on the tyrannical golden light that grows with each passing second.
