Charlotte, the pope, and the interview seems to be the actions that could use more the points

Yeah so Cyber is a god and has written like... Half the update.

We're still waiting on the omake points, but tomorrow morning, will be the deadline.

Can you extend the deadline for like 4-6h? If I'm not wrong, even in your timezone it will be like 6 AM in the deadline you gave, most people would be sleeping through it, at least if they are from America timezones.

Also...

Well shit. I was expecting some crazy dice this time... and we got it.

Sorces of the French Revolution (SzechuanSauce)
Well, if anyone wants to learn about the historic French Revolution, here are some books that I think you guys would find useful.

General Overview
- Liberty or Death by Peter McPhee: I've mentioned this guy before, and it is not to be exaggerated that he is one of the best scholars on the French Revolution today. This book, while not exactly always giving great detail, is a great summary of the events of the French Revolution, from its origins, all the way to the Consulate and what exactly the revolution meant to contemporary and future people. Also, the book has a whole lot of great source material that you guys should look at to get a more focused look on specific parts of the revolution.
- A New World Begins by Jeremy Popkin: Again another really great historian of the French Revolution, his is also an overview of the revolution from its origins around the mid-18th century to around the time Napoleon took power. What is special about his account is that it takes a more internationalist approach, making many mentions of the colonial affairs in Saint-Dominique, and a more personal one in a sense, because it makes constant mentions of minor figures of the revolution like Ménétra, a glass-maker in the Ancien Regime who quickly found many responsibilities in the new one, enthusiastic revolutionary Goujon and his also enthusiastic, but more cautious buddy Tissot, the former who would die young as a martyr in 1795, and the latter living far longer, preserving his friend's memory.

Specific Parts of the Revolution
- Becoming a Revolutionary by Timothy Tackett: This book is an overview of the beginning of the French Revolution, that being the convocation of the Estates-General, all the way to a little bit before the flight of the king to Varennes. It covers wide range of topics such as the opinions of the deputies, what their social and economic backgrounds were, the parliamentary tactics practiced during these times and the origins of famous clubs like the Jacobins or the Society of 1789.
- The Fall of the French Monarchy by Munro Price: A book focusing on the French royal family and a rather obscure but nonetheless important figure, the Baron de Breteuil. This book traces the struggle of the French monarchy to stay alive or at least powerful through the French Revolutionary days, with attention being paid to the various methods taken to do so and also attention is paid to the opinions of the royal family and the baron.
- When the King took Flight by Timothy Tackett: This time being a very specific subject, this book is, as the title shows, about when the king attempted to flee the country. Examining his motives, which, despite what some might say, were completely against any compromise with the revolution, repudiating everything he says he was forced to do etc. It also pays attention to the reaction of the deputies and the people, who were, at least the majority, angered by what the king had done, especially the Parisians who burned every royal symbol they could find and no longer showing the deference they once had for the monarch. It also shows the slow growth of republicanism, arising from anger at the king's flight.
- Twelve who Ruled by R.R. Palmer: Most probably the best book focusing on the critical years of the Committee of Public Safety, this book focuses on the titular twelve who ruled, or at least, ruled by the consent of the National Convention since they had to get their membership renewed every month by said convention. It focuses on their activities, but a lot on what the terror looked like, what its impacts were, and rather controversially for some folks, about how absolutely critical it was in the reorganization of the country, centralizing the administrative apparatus, forging a better army, vanquishing its foes, and doing something about the darn economy.
- Jacobin Legacy: The Democratic Movement under the Directory by Isser Woloch: Now this focuses on a relatively obscure part of the Directory. Despite common opinion, the Jacobins did not simply disappear after Thermidor, they were scattered and no longer had state support, sure, but they were still there, the clubs transformed into Constitutional Circles, and the Jacobins, or perhaps democrats is more appropriate, were not a bunch of frothing at the mouth revolutionaries, they were respectable people of varied social backgrounds who, while finding the new Constitution to be not so good, were determined to work with it and possibly transform it into something more democratic. Also, something neat is that it brings to light obscure figures like Rene Vatar, one of the leading Jacobins at the time, a printer for the Committee of Public Safety and writer of what people then considered to be the Jacobin newspaper, the Journal des Hommes libres.

People in the French Revolution
- Robespierre: A Revolutionary Life by Peter McPhee- Again written by McPhee, this is a work that traces one of the revolution's most foremost figures from his childhood days all the way to his death, examining the origins of his beliefs, what his beliefs actually were, his actions during the revolution, his personality, relationships and much more.
- Abbe Gregoire and the French Revolution by Alyssa Goldstein Sepinwall: This one focuses on one of the most peculiar members of the French Revolution, and also one of the most celebrated, the revolutionary priest turned constitutional bishop, the man himself, Abbé Henri Grégoire. It focuses on him fully, exploring his beliefs, many of them seemingly contradictory such as being a dedicated revolutionary and a dedicated Catholic which some saw as being mutually exclusive, his belief in women's education despite having incredibly sexist views even by the standards of the time, his belief in freedom for the Haitians despite him having a large influence of future colonial thoughts, his belief in Jewish emancipation and all the complexities that come with him.

I'll add in some more later, and you guys could put in your own recommendations or books about a specific topic you'd like to know about.

11.2 From Me to You; De moi à toi.
-[X] The Armee Code of Military Justice: Kellerman has read many disturbing reports from Italy, Spain, and the Rhine, of soldiers acting little better than bandits, looting the civilians of the enemy for payment. Army justice for centuries has been at the army's commanders' jurisdiction but many traditions are outdated and many generals do not care as long as soldiers are hurting the enemy and civilians. He proposes to join with several army lawyers and civilian ministers to create a unified code of military justice, to prevent huge massacres, maintain good order and discipline, and to maintain a high standard of professionalism, and to prevent the army from acting like little more than mercenaries.
-[X] Redesignation of Missions: Your Comrade has requested that there should be new classifications for missions and objectives for Army objectives. This is a changing world, and conquering it is not something that the French Army is going to do all the time. The Crisis in Spain is just an example of what needs to be done. It may work wonders for Morale, and prevent international Pressures from trying to destroy the French Empire and beyond in diplomatic circles.
-[X] The School of Armed Conflict: There are plenty of officers, Yourself included, who have never had a true, proper military education, preferring to learn on the job. That is incredible, and the fact that so many succeeded is a testament to the officers instincts, and ability to learn on the job. It also terrifies you that so many junior officers are going into battle with no training whatsoever. Having a chance to train and become better officers would be certainly beneficial.

11.2 From Me to You; De moi à toi.

The Men are getting to work, and by the End of the Year, their findings will be brought to your attention.

Reward: At the end of the Year, you will see the Army Spirits, and you will be given the choice to accept or refuse the reforms.

Dear Mother?

Hell, I didn't expect that news to join me when I began to write this?

To be quite honest, when I heard the news, I thought you had finally done something mad, and were taken aback by the power of your new office.

Except that I'm not. I'm proud. I'm happy… And above all else, I must say it's about damn time you came to your senses and realized that we were family.

But we have dire news from Britain, news that may not be the best.

Spain and Britain are now at war with Each other, and they have a field army of 30,000 on their way to Mainland Spain right now to seize the arsenals and place the entire northern peninsula under the King of Portugal. There is no Force, save for our own, to protect the Nation of Spain from Foreign occupation.

However, there is news from America that is interesting. The Americans and Spanish have agreed to a peace treaty, in exchange for mutual support against the Royal Navy that is attacking their fleets. Rumor has it that the Flotilla from America is leading a daring rescue to Ireland to rescue the captured Sailors that are waiting to be sent to other ships and separated. The Crews were kept together for… so reason, but the officers are in Dublin, while the Crews are in Cork.

I pray for their success…

One more thing. The East India Company is in Freefall. They are retreating to coastal forts all over India. But there is also news of a British Army trying to fight into the Levant, trying to get out of India, but are being forced into Afghanistan. The Commanding General Arthur Wesley was wounded in battle against the Sultan, but a Sergeant named Sharpe saved his life and was promoted for his deeds.

All that rumor is speculation and propaganda, but I think the British are trying to get out of India before they all die to rampage heathens.

Another piece of news is… Ten ships flying French Colors are… raiding all over the Indian Ocean.

With Love, and Hope,
Charlotte Auclair."

Reward: You were given information about the next British move, and news in India.

Oh boy. This is going to be good

Excerpt from Papal Bull, 1796
Consolamur crustulo pueros, remissiónem

"In the efforts to remind that the Holy Father is merciful in his wisdom, is kind in His word, and brilliant in his plans, we are faulted. We have been reminded of our Hubris or our great shame that rots our very core of Sin and Blasphemy. But for such words, we are not here for. The Holy Church seeks to forgive, and reconcile the many souls who are in need of salvation for Christendom and for Heaven to welcome their souls with open arms, at the Gate of St. Peters.

The Souls of the Army of the Orient are reconciled. Forgiven for their transgressions, both alive, and dead.

Reward: You are no longer excommunicated.

If you read between the lines, the Pope is now your Bitch, and the next pope will likely be… A Frenchman.

New Action Available.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is an excerpt of an interview between the Empress and Jacques Hébert.

Empress Bonaparte: I'm glad you took the time to talk to me. I've had quite a boring time as of late. What with not being in my comfort zone as is.

Jacques Hébert: It must be said that you are as impressive as your record says.

Empress Bonaparte: Well how do we start this thing? I've never done this before.

JH: I'll write it down, and you will just answer truthfully.

EB: Alright.

JH: Empress, why are you so driven, what drives you to fight for France so diligently.

EB: It is simple. We are all among, born in a language and a home that we have always known, and we have a duty to defend it. We are under siege from nations that are reacting to something beautiful. A Dream of Revolution.

JH: And you believe in it?

EB: With all my heart. And any man or woman believes that it is wrong. Ask them something… Have you felt free before, to make a choice without authority.

JH: And you think that authority should be powerful?

EB: Only in the defense of the nation, and its interests.

JH: And those interests are?

EB: Save France, make her Prosperous. To never be slaves again.

Reward: The interview is a success.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a quiet moment to meet the Ministers of the French Empire.

A Moment that they had prepared for with gusto.

Given the amount of wine, they had consumed.

Pierre, One of Napoleon's personal assistants, Minster Barres, Minister Tallyrand, and over a dozen other men had gathered to meet you.

And for all the things that you had feared, rejection, and sexism amongst them, to be viewed not as whom the Emperor was, and the power he wielded, but as the woman, he married, and carrying his child.

Except that, amongst the men, there was no such action. They just greeted you as the Inspector General of France, the woman who was tasked with rebuilding the army.

And you joined them, and they treated you as they would any of their comrades.

Reward: The Ministers have been met.

Influencing Napoleon has received a drastic decrease in influence cost, due to the ministers liking you a lot, for your professionalism, work ethic, and reputation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doctor Larrey took a very long sigh. "It will be difficult."

"I've known a doctor for a long time, but why are you looking at me like I'm a corpse walking?"

He sighed again. "Your… body, to be blunt, has suffered extensive trauma, and over the past few months, you have been increasing a workload that is very dangerous for a woman in your condition. You might die."

"I cannot just sit and do nothing." You proclaimed.

"That is the problem." He shook his head. "You are a pregnant woman. You are carrying children into this world, and they matter!

"You think that makes me weak!" You proclaimed, angered by the man's accusation. "That I must be a mother because that is the only thing that will give me purpose!"

"No, It means you need to think about more than yourself!"

Silence hung on the room as you felt your hands become fists. "Empress. You of all people should understand that cooperation is needed for things to succeed. I am ordering you to not… take part in any more activities until you give birth and recover. I am your doctor, and If you work any harder, you will die, or miscarry."

He paused, standing up. "This isn't about you anymore. This is about them." He pointed to your pregnant belly.

Reward:

You have been ordered to rest, and recuperate.

Next turn you will only have 3 Actions, and will not be allowed to study or Train.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Proclamation was short, a small letter that was making the news official.

And they would take your name, not Napoleon's.

Reward: Charlotte and Louis have been adopted into your family, taking the Auclair family name.

This has caused outrage across Europe.

The Royalists are… while not upset, are confused why you are taking such a roundabout way to put Louis on the Throne. And make him take your name.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hospital was quiet, but the soldiers were at attention. The wounded and homeless soldiers were brought to this place, Les Invalides. The place for wounded soldiers who had fought for France.

You had made a large, public donation to the Hospital so that the men would realize something.

This would not be like the past, where wounded and forgotten men would be left to fend for themselves.

They would be remembered. They would be Heroes.

They would no longer be abandoned by the Nation they fought for.

Reward: Les Invalides has been founded, the home for sick, wounded, and retired soldiers. A place where any man has shed blood for his nation.

Unknown Effect on the Morale of the Soldiers in the Army.

In France, the thoughts of you being a bloodthirsty, power-hungry tyrant… have lessened.

There are still whispers that you seek power for personal gain, but many still think you are hiding things, things like a personal ambition to take over France for yourself and your brother.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Investments you sent you a small… design. The Huntsmen design for a Steel press. A design that you had seen numerous flaws in immediately with a pen, corrected them.

Then you decided to take the basis of the design, and improve upon them, like the Auclair Jacquard Machines that you had created before you left for Sicily.

What made you write to Jacquard, and ask him politely to gather an engineer or a dozen and request for them to arrive in Paris post haste.

The Brainstorming lasted only a month before you had hammered out a design. A Design that could make ammunition by the millions in a quarter, supply entire armies within a few weeks.

Supply the entire French army, in less than a year, for campaigns.

And once the war was over, the abundance of Cheap steel and Iron, meant projects of greatness could begin. Like mass production of weapons.

Paving Roads… So many uses for cheap steel.

It was Glorious. And despite your condition… put a smile on your face.

You also had a man in Lorraine that you trusted with such power.

Severin's Father's Matteo. He would be well compensated if everything went well.

Reward:

Lorraine is now the Arms Factory of France, and in Two Quarters, will be online.

All Armies will start a campaign with Full Supply, regardless of quality for one battle.

The Wealth of France will increase to 10/10 for three years, once the factory is online.

. It should be called the Auclair Steel Press at this point.

The Severin Family has become Very Wealthy because you trusted Matteo to keep things running smoothly while construction and other manufacturing infrastructure were built.

Other, unknown Effects have occurred, but will not be known for quite some time.

You are now one of the leading industrial powers of the world in a few certain areas of technology.

Your nation hungers for the raw resources of the world to feed its economy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I must present myself to the MEN!! LET ME!!" You shouted at your Doctor and looked at you.

"You were shot the last time you made a speech, forgive us for being a bit overprotective!" He said.

Failure, the Last time you gave a speech was still fresh in the minds of many.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You looked up from your bed and sighed. "Dammit, I fell asleep again."

"Hmm, Pancakes, not soldier pancakes, but normal ones." You mused.

You then looked at the clock. "Servent, what sort of pancakes are your staff preparing!?"

"Buttered Chocolate Pancakes with a hint of sugar and Strawberries." He said.

Damn your growing pallet of Aristocratic tastes!

Failure.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What do you mean I have to keep myself from Stress, I Can Study!!" You shouted. "I am part of this government and require such skills in administration!"

"You need bed rest and GOOD FOOD!! You're already going to have a dangerous birth as it is!!" Your Doctor said.

"I don't even want to get even more fat than I already am!" You shouted.

"My Empress PUT THE SWORD DOWN!" He said.

Failure!

AN: Enjoy.

And I am off to a break again.

See you in a few weeks.

But really, There is a hiatus for a few weeks.

I'm trying to get promoted.
I wish you good luck. And after the Dream Omake...

Well, if this isn't Prime Material for an Omake, I don't know what is.

Sucks that we only have three actions next turn. Maybe go to the Women's Club, our knight and maybe more propaganda to lessen the rumors.

Curious on why Europe is angry at us adopting them. Hmmm really hope Louis comes home soon so we can talk to the Royalists.

Now the situation is Spain is gonna need attention because of the British making moves there with there allies. Luckily we got an army there. Just need to get local support.

Now the situation is Spain is gonna need attention because of the British making moves there with there allies. Luckily we got an army there. Just need to get local support.
If the Brits are moving in to place the Island under the reign of Portugal, then we have gotten the PERFECT Opportunity to make our own play.

Do not be afraid, Spain, we're here to save you from the foreign Invaders!

...What, no, we are not just using this as an excuse to take over your country ourselves, don't be silly.

And hey the army is no longer excommunicated because of Therese talking with the Pope. People of France and our soldiers are probably happy. Not to mention the Pope is now our Bitch. Could use the Pope to help with the Spain situation.

Edit: also can't forget the Royalist are probably happy and grateful of Therese for getting it undone.
