... Looks at their rolls.

I mean... no.

Good thing Davout is in the Neighbor hood. He should be doing some good shit done.
Well if nothing else the previous loss is probably going to make this fight much easier. Though for some strange reason I don't think that Davout will be offering a merciful deal after the response to last one.

Also oh God I just realized if Davout is Italy and threatening the Pope he might also be in position to dealing with pissed off Austrian on the way through. I think if nothing else after this Davout will have probably earned a future Marshall position, I don't think Nappy will object us suggesting he get a promotion very soon.

Hmmm actually if Austria declared war we could go through their lands to help Russia with their own Civil war. Assuming certain things are happening and remaining the same.

Good idea, we can make a stop in Vienna to resupply and extort Emperor Francis II for more goodies while we're at it.

All I shall say is that I hate the front page right now.

I'm trying to update it, but everytime I do, I can't fix what if freaking messed up.

Now the command and relations are gone.

You might want to get a second set of eyes on that. Coding alone may seem easier than wasting somebody else's time but trust me, it's less troublesome in the long run.

Well, as of fifteen minutes before you posted, a mod made some edits and everything still seems to be there so...

Backup successfully restored?

It seems like the tabs currently being used have some sort of limit to how many sliders you can have.

SECOND Coalition?!

DAMN YOU, PERFIDIOUS ALBION!!!

More like: DAMN YOU, ROBESPIERRE!
(After all, if we didn't have a civil war, then the British wouldn't have had the opportunity to rally our foreign enemies into a coalition, but Robespierre decided that now is a good time to move against Napoleon...)

I'm tempted to make a deal with the King of Naples here... giving him a less harsh peace treaty once he gets his second deafeat, in exchange for his help in framing Robespierre as a traitor to France (by having him admit that he started the attack because Robespierre "assured" him that the entirety of the army that attacked Sicily and Naples would not be present to rebuff his attack). We need the civil war to end as fast as possible so that we can deal with the coalition.

Okay, so, tantative first draft of a Plan:

The Army of the Pyrenees secures the Pyrenees. The Army of the Rhine shall guard it against Austria and Prussia. Davout and the Italian Sister Republics deal with Naples and Italy.
That leaves our half of the Army of the Orient, plus the Veterans of the Armies of Italy and the North to deal with Robby and his Supporters.

One thing I've wondered is why Austria was ever allowed to continue existing after it's multiple attempts against France:

By the time the third coalition comes around Austria has proven it can't be trusted to hold any agreement so peace treaties and nonaggression pacts are meaningless and most of Europe is either for or against France so I don't see why we can't have Austria dissolved and split apart.

Our enemies hate us anyway and de-fanging Austria removes a thorn in our side and makes the rest of the Coalition think twice before trying our patience.

@Magoose I found your problem.

Go to the front page and find where you put.

Strip out the

tags.

I already did it for you above, just strip out all the excess tabs I put in for testing.
Or just yank the accordion I used to shorten the army tab. That's fine too.

Hope this helps

1:48 in the morning. I am going to sleep. If you have any questions, I'll be back in like . . . 8 hours probably.

Completely dismantling a European Great Power has...consequences. And not necessarily ones you wanna deal with.

Besides, Napoleon married the Daughter of Francis II. partially because he hoped that that would keep Austria from fighting him again.

Negaverse: "I will rule the Universe!", a Napoleon-Quest; Turn 16: Le début de la guerre civile

Well...it has come to this now, has it?

Damn you, Robby...!

I know right? It's one thing to try and coup us...it's another to do that literally HOURS AFTER BRIAN took a leave of absence to deal with Family...OUR FAMILY.

Sending that Riot is just poor form. Not to mention starting a Civil War just to get back at us is REALLY short-sighted.

It's ROBBIE ROTTEN. What did you expect?

We REALLY should've killed Mr. "TO THE GUILLOTINE!!!" when we had the Chance.

Yeah, but there's no use lamenting that now. Let's just hope that the Civil War will be over quickly...

If only Brian had been a bit more willing to compromise on his Ideals, maybe we could've avoided this mess.

Hey, don't talk shit about our Brother-in Law and BFF, Guys. He's not very good at the day to day politics, sure, but the rest... I mean look at his Domestic Policy, its better then ours! He even made Civil Unions between Homosexuals legal...in 1795!! To say nothing of his Paris Police idea!

Hey, I'm not saying he was bad. But he quit his Job, albeit for sympathetic reasons, at a time when he could not afford to do so. His Idealism, while noble, aided Robespierre in doing what he just did.

Yeah, Brian is...not in the best place right now mentally. He blames himself quite a bit for the mess we are now in. And his belief in the Republic and the People has taken a massive blow.

I'd tell him 'I told you so!'...but I think the best course of Action right now is to tell him instead of blaming himself, dig himself out of it.

Agreed. And hey, with all that outta the way, maybe he'll be willing to support us fully now.

The Republic has failed. It was a beautiful dream and, were we all better men, it may have even worked.

But we are not and it didn't. The Revolution must survive, but it can't be with a Republic. Not anymore.

The time for the Rise of an Empire...has come.

*Rolls for Allegiances*

...Okay then. Not what I expected, but...not bad at all.

You wanna have some general Infos on what happened?

GIVE US THE CHAOS ROLLS!! ITS A FREE FOR ALL NOW! Also Yes.

ALRIGHT...so:

Almost every General and Military Leader currently residing in France rolled to support you. The only exceptions are Bessieres, Soult, Desaix, Adam Philippe, MacDonald and Marmont, who have sided with Robespierre.
In addition, the Army of the Rhine, the Army of the Pyrenees and the Veterans of the Army of the North and the (now dissolved) Army of Italy have ALL decided to join you. Only the fresh Recruits of the Army of the North and, of course, the National Guard support Robespierre.

On the other hand, most of the Civilian Administration is on Robespierres side, though quite a few of them only because he will put them and their loved ones all on the Guillotine if they refuse.
However, Jean-Baptiste Topino-Lebrun, Paul Barras, Antoine Louis Albitte and your Brother Lucien have sided with you.

OOF, at least two Marshals are against us... But that's nothing we can't handle! Not when we have ALL the Officers!

Two or three Marshals is nothing compared to all the other Marshals we have. And frankly, the Marshals that Robby has now are (relatively) little to worry about, since they weren't THAT impressive in OTL. Not to mention that we have basically ALL the Veterans on our side.

I'm glad our Brother came through for us. Barras surprises me, seeing how much he was against OTL-Napoleon later, but I'll take it.

Also, Lannes rolled a Nat!100 to support you. As if we needed any more proof that he's a Bro for life.

Hold on...did Robe capture anyone? And if yes, who?

Bad News is, Robby rolled well enough that he got a Chance to capture some of your Supporters.

Good news is, he only managed to catch two: Barras and Kellermann.

Hm. Not ideal, but not as bad as I thought...well, onto the next situation. We can only hope there is some more good news out of this.

*Rolls*

...*smiles* Well, well, well...

...You rolled for our Goddess of War, haven't you? TELL US SHE'S RETURNING!!

Army of the Orient Allegiance: 100
Therese Auclair-Reaction: 100

"Sir! SIR!"

You look up from your desk. "What is it, Pierre? I thought I asked not to be disturbed, unless it's vitally important-"

"The Army of the Orient, Sir...it has returned to France!"

...You try your hardest to not break out into a bright grin. "...Tell me more, Pierre."

After yours and Robespierre's differing Orders, Therese Auclair was uncertain on what to do.
Then, however, the Pope excommunicated her entire Army over flimsy charges and for political reasons...while Robespierre sent her a letter, ordering her to hand over the Royal Children for execution.
Now, she is on the Warpath. Half her army has sailed to Rome under Davouts command, accompanied by the Royal Children, to...'convince' the Pope to rethink his Decision.
The other half of the Army, 50.000 battle-hardened Soldiers under Therese's personal Leadership, has landed in Southern France and promptly declared for your cause. She is marching to Lyon to link up with you and will arrive after this Turn. All of her Sub-Commanders, Davout, Severin, Murat, Chamans, etc. have agreed to follow her Decision.
The Heroine of Valmy, the Conqueror of Sicily and the entire Army of the Orient are on your side.

A.N.: Remember when I said that Robby sent another letter to Therese?
Yeah...it was a Crit-Fail on his part.
Therese is in full-blown Mama-Bear mode and she is DONE with his shit.
You dun goofed, Robby. You dun goofed HARD.

...AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAAA!!!

...ULTIMATE WAIFU PULLS THROUGH AGAIN!!

Seriously, if there ever was a Girl I'd unironically simp for, it's Therese Auclair!! Screw Josephine, there is only one Woman in all of France who deserves to be our Empress!!

We need to marry this Girl. We NEED to marry this Girl ASAP!

Seriously, guys, when a Woman comes to your aid in a Civil War with her ENTIRE fucking Army, then she's the one!

A.N.: And here we go, my first Napoleon-Negaverse-Omake, written together with @Cyberphilosipher. Hope you all like it.

Just had one thought. If the Pope needs a face-saving reason (after changing pants, of course) to justify overturning the excommunication, Therese and the Army of Orient marching against Robespierre (High Priest of the Cult of the Supreme Being) is a rather good one ('the Holy Father, in his Godly Mercy, has decreed that, in order to be allowed back into the Communion of the Faithful, the so-called Army of the Orient french army must carry the good fight against the Arch-Heresiarch Maximillien Robespierre')

Sadly, Robby didn't go COMPLETELY Cucoo before Brian and Naopleon couped him. The Cult isn't a thing in this Quest. Not yet at least.

Mmm, I missed that, at what date, exactly did Brian arrest Robespierre ITTL?

Maybe the Pope can pretend that Robespierre is a leading member of the Cult of Reason (I know, OTL, Robespierre was against it and that is part of the reason he promoted the Cult of the SUpreme being, but I don't know how well known this was outside of France at the time, and since when have popes feared a good lie for Godly reasons (ie for their own benefits)?).

Edit: I mean, even if he has not yet officially proclamed the Cult of the Supreme Being, Robespierre is a known and violent anti-Catholic Church firebrand (in the literal sense, OTL), while Brian, Napoleon and (previously) Therese are acceptably good enough catholics (for France, in these trying times)...

Disaster Roll: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxh25kc + https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxh2bmt

The situation in France has not deteriorated as rapidly as many seemed to have expected. The Royalists, keen on the news of their wayward prince, seem open to many ideas involving the restoration authority and have risen in revolt behind the enemy lines of the Parisian government

They hope that their resistance to Paris will be seen as a way to gain influence in the new government, seeing Robespierre as nothing more than a scoundrel, a murderer, and a man ill-fit to rule France in the name of its people.

For only the King can rule France, and-

They have heard the news of the Excommunication of the Army of the Orient, and one Louis Capet in particular.

And there is a rage that even Heaven can feel.

A Rage that all is lost.

Reward: The Vendee has risen again to fight for Louis Capet's claim to the French throne, and has decided that it would be better to work with Napoleon for a chance to see it so, than work against him.

The Papal States are in danger of losing many of the believers in France due to their actions, as the French people do not believe that the Temporal Authority of Saint Peter's Church has any right to dictate matters of politics on earth.

It seems that the catholic bishops stoking the fires of rebellion against the French Republic have stopped, utterly shocked at their leader in Pope Pius doing such a thing.

The French Republic: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxh152o

To call what happened a consolidation of power is a gross understatement of what truly occurred in Paris in the days and weeks after the escape of Brian Auclair and his seizure of Power…

Robespierre and his supporters, loyal, worthy, or otherwise, have seized control of every facet of life in Paris and the surrounding communes.

Reactionaries, royalists, and anyone who was deemed unrevolutionary were led to trials.

Many were sentenced to labor, to work, or to the National Guard.

A few suffered a more permanent fate.

With the Razor falling…

And the world becomes dark.

Veterans from the previous wars, men who were old, ill and sick, were given rifles to fight their comrades.

Many fled to their reformed units.

Many more became prisoners or penal units, sent to fight or die.

Reward: The French Republic has fallen into a state of Terror, with every man, woman and child who do not put every effort to the Revolution, being considered traitors, cowards or far far worse.

Any one who could stand up to the Consul Robespierre, and his government has already left. And any man brave enough to speak out.

Meet the Razor itself.

The numbers of experienced soldiers grow, as penal battalions and newly promoted officers take command, and political commissars hold equal or greater command than the officers who had been placed in the command.

Napoleon: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxgovkl

The Restoration government is under his complete control, and duties on all theaters have been delegated to the generals who have given their oaths to him, and to France itself.

They would save their home from the madness of the Revolution, and those who have corrupted it for their power. Napoleon himself is taking to the field with 15,000 men of the Consular Guard, men who left with him during his flight from Paris, along with Irregular volunteer forces numbering 20,000, under the command of newly-promoted Brigadier General, Michel Ney.

Additional forces of the Restoration government army are all over France, under different officers. They are scattered, yes… but they are seizing many vial objectives, supply depots and cites.

But they are still scattered.

Reward: The Restoration Authorities forces are scattered across France, but have seized vital objectives, and are receiving new orders by the day.

They also experience popular support from citizens all across the Authorities territory, seeing as many of the soldiers are doing everything they can to not despoil the countryside before the Harvest.

Brian: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxgpjcs

Brian Auclair is not the greatest chief of Staff in France's Army. That honor belonged to General Beirther…

But what he had was a reputation, both as a field commander and an administrator for a man who is notoriously difficult to work with, being able to know exactly what Napoleon meant when he said his orders verbally or in notes delivered by courier.

And he works miracles, even when it seems impossible.

Reward: Brain has settled back into his role as chief of Staff to Napoleon, and as a capable deputy for the Restoration Government.

General Auclair, Grand Marshal Bonaparte

Our mission to the Papal states to protest The Army of the Orient's excommunication has been a partial success. The Pope and his state have surrendered to II Corps without a shot fired.

Currently he has not reconciled with any member of the Army, even as we revealed Louis and Charlotte were members, and they were part of the excommunication.

The Pope was horrified and was planning to reconcile them immediately. However, Louis refused, as he would only reconcile them, instead of the whole Army.

Both are beginning to write scathing letters to the rest of Europe, about the pope's… political actions. The Scandal may be enough for the Holy Father to… reconsider.

For now, we stand by for new orders, and if we are granted such… we will strike at the Austrians or the Napleians.

General Davout.

Reward: General Davout has secured his objectives in Rome, and is awaiting new orders.

Tsar Peter: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxgywoo

Tsar Peter is dead, accidently shot by one of his riders, mistaken for an enemy cossak, while hunting near Moscow.

It is a shock, a true senseless tragedy, but now the civil war is over.

Reward: The Tsar is dead. Long live the Tsar.

Tsar Alexander: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxgzax9

The news of his father's death came as an unexpected event, but the War is over.

There are traitors to deal with.

Reward: Long live the Tsar.

GB: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxgrvil

The Government of Great Britain, sensing weakness in it's continental rival in France, has sent diplomats all over europe

They see the weakness of France collapsing, and can finally get their revenge on them.

They have promised to pay millions of pounds, supply the nations with supplies, and support them with the Royal Navy, to return France To their rightful place.

Beneath the British Yoke.

Coalition Formation Roll: https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kpxgv08v

Who Joins?:

Austria: 52

The Austrian Empire has joined the

HRE States: 58

Prussia: 74

Naples: 98

Spain: 71

Well… it seems everyone is here to fight France and it's a dangerous revolution that seeks to destroy it.

Reward: The Second Coalition has Formed, and has declared war on the French Republic, and State.

God save France, for only he can.

AN: Holy Shit, sorry bout that guys, I forgot... everything about the second coalition.

By the way, how come Barras of all People sided with Nappy? Did he just hate Robby that damn much?
Well, considering the options that he had, A revolutionary Zealot in Robe who has proven popular with the voters, but also goes too far, or a pragmatic, if authoritarian man in Nappy?

I know what choice I would make in a heartbeat... wouldn't you?
