Honestly, what sort of Government is France going to have. Obviously, it will be some form of Military Dictatorship/Junta/Empire, but what kind exactly. The Generals can't make it an outright junta, even they want some form of figleaf to serve as legitimacy for their coup.
Wouldn't she actually be more on the tall side of just people of the time? She seems to hang around more guys that are tall too so I can get why she wouldn't notice but at some point she has to notice how tall she really is. Like how tall are her soldiers in general?

Honestly, across the pond, many Americans must be shocked by what is happening in France and Europe. The formerly pro-French Americans will be dismayed when the Republican Government of France is overthrown by a Military Junta and the Federalists were already put off of France by Robespierre's Reign of Terror and their desire for better relations with Great Britain
George Washington: America must stay out of European affairs! If not, we will fall to the same devilish influences that now permeate that blighted Continent.

Oh GOD, the Oversimplified-Omake-Scenes I may write in the Future...
(Peace Conference after the War of the Xth Coalition - French Victory of course)
British Prime Minister: "Urgh...look at them. Stupid French Emperor and Empress, thinking they're so great..."
Frederick III.: "Tell me about it...damn brute of an Amazon."
Francis II.: "And her midget Husband."
Napoleon: "HEY!! I'm average height-"
Alexander I.: "NOBODY CARES!!"
(Short Pause. Next we see Nappy crying into Therese's shoulder as the other European Monarchs look on somewhat embarrassed.)
Napoleon (sobs): "W-why do they always have to b-be so mean about this...?"
Therese (gently pets his shoulder): "There, there, Napoleon...it's alright. You're definitely average height for the time. (Glares disapprovingly at the Monarchs, like a Mother at misbehaving kids) I hope you all are proud of yourselves!"
European Monarchs: *all look down in shame and mutter apologies*

Man I love this. Don't know why but I imagine Alexander reacting differently to Therese.
Alexander:.....By god she is a Beautiful Goddess.
Napoleon stops sobbing and starts glaring: What was that you little prick!?
Alexander: You heard me!! She deserves royal blood unlike a certain someone.
Napoleon: Oh that is it!! You are going down!!
Alexander: Bring it on!!
Napoleon and Alexander start a slap fight.
Therese:......*Sigh*......Why is this happening?
Edit: Ah I remember now. It was her preparing for a possible future meeting and having to wear a dress if she met Alexander. And I think someone made a comment on it.
Edit2: Or would it be more of a who is the bigger fan of Therese?
Jefferson? George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were friends for much of their lives, but their relationship became very strained especially as George Washington became more pro-Federalist which caused Jefferson to see Washington as a pawn of Hamilton. To put it bluntly, George Washington did not have a fond view of Jefferson by the end of his presidency. Also, John Adams had George Washington endorsement in the OTL, so Adams was essentially guaranteed to win.
I know there's a post in Screencaps From Last Night about exactly this, tall girl with boyfriend, other tall friends, does cosplay, but after two hours I give up.

The Life of Brian: The Grand Collapse:
Elissa did not smile as warmly as you believed she would as you set down your darling angel. "I have made many mistakes, but this is not one of them."
She sighed as you looked back to her, snorting as she sat down on the couch. "Are you not afraid of what is to come? You have allowed Robespierre to take power, do you not believe the political consequences of your actions."
"I understand them quite clearly." You replied, being very firm in your tone but the quiet feeling of uncertainty was rather apparent. "Why do you think I made Napoleon write all those correspondences."
"Because you are a coward relying on my brother to be the pillar that you should have been!" She proclaimed, keeping her voice low.
"I am not going to be the many who allowed the republic to die, to allow all that the Revolution fought for to fail!" Your voice was raised.
"Then why do you have the courage to die for it? Allow it to fall to a man who will kill you if given the chance! Do you believe that your plan to protect the revolution is right? If you still had power, you could stop what may come."
"And what might come dear?" You asked.
You then heard shouting from the streets. You ran towards the commotion and saw a large gathering of people, primarily men, and teenagers, but also members of the national guard cavalry escorting them. All were armed.
"Hmm, another policing action?" You muttered, knowing that such actions were starting to become increasingly common, with the improper use of force being common.
You had hoped the Reform on Paris Policing would have remained intact...but alas the first thing Robespierre did was execute the first class of Officers for "Embezzlement, Treason, and Misuse of State Authority!"
Misuse, you had trained the officers yourself, if not in the most perfect manner of police work, then in a manner of conduct, and to remember that they were there to protect the public, not be instruments of the state… You had written the rules for their conduct and they were made of old military veterans, men whom both Napoleon and Robespierre approved of.
"Auclair, TRAITOR!" A shout roared from the crowd. "Death to Auclair!"
You frowned. It had only been an hour since your resignation.
You then looked at the clock in your apartment, one that you had brought when you first moved to Paris.
No, make that two hours. This mob seemed far too organized to just be riled up in such a short time. No, this was a planned and organized Mob, filled with political radicals stirring the fires that were, above all else, loyal to Robespierre's vision of the republic.
A vision that would destroy you. You took a look at Elissa and gave a small sigh. "You may think me a fool, but I trust you will remain safe while I am gone?"
"Of course Brian." She replied with a small nod. "Sword and pistol?"
"No, just a sword, I need to travel light, and making noise will only make things worse for both of you." You replied as you walked over to your dresser with your blade, and strapped it to aside.
Taking a glance you looked at yourself in the mirror, before you stripped your uniform jacket from your top, and thew off your boots.
"I trust that your plan involves you looking like a beggar soldier?" your wife smiled as she opened one of the side doors to the hallway.
"Who would expect Brian Auclair, a General, to be shoeless, and without a uniform, I only look like a sergeant grenadier?" You replied as you twitched a smile, before allowing yourself to look down in shame. "I am a fool Elissa,I have failed you and France, but I will make this right, to both of you. and give little Elsa a chance at a future we can make of it."
"Good. I expect nothing less from you." Your wife replied. "Now go. I'll tell them you went to church to pray for your sister's soul. Buy you some time."
You nodded and sloped your head down into the hallway. Your neighbors must have been fixated by the mob coming closer, but you merely moved quickly, towards the back staircase. Marching down, more and more political agitators, loyalists, and national guardsmen were gathering.
A quiet look came over you as you saw the apparent ringleader. Saint-Just, the angel of death himself. The man who believed all those who stood against the revolution had to die for the revolution and was willing to make those who did not believe it pays it in a mountain of corpses…
Yet as you walked through the building and into the alleyway they seemed more concerned with what was in front of them right now.
Elissa Boneparte was holding your rifle at the window of your home. "You cowards!" She shouted. "Why must you march with an army, when coming alone would have served the same purpose!"
"Your husband has committed grave crimes against the Republic and must stand trial!" Saint-Just at least seemed to have the Honor enough to lead from the front.
"My husband gave Consul Robespierre a Trial, and he was allowed to walk free because he had honor and dignity, and a belief in the rule of law, despite all the horror that was inflicted on the public and the People! You and your mob have none of either!"
You loved your wife, truly you did, for her bravery and her willingness to defend you, no matter what, even with a rifle clearly unloaded.
It was one of the few things Napoleon said she'd have when she was courting you. And the fact she was doing this for your sake is another point of respect.
As you walked through the alley, you saw some of the working poor, the men who were day laborers… and former soldiers who saw your saber.
"General!?" They all said calmly knowing of the danger of the mob that had descended upon your family, and your home. "Come this way."
You placed a finger on your mouth. "What army are you and yours?"
"Army of the North Sir, 15th volunteer cavalry. We were one of the demobilized battalions after the war ended." He said. "Sargent de Glass Sir." The firm salute was a sign of recognition. "Colonel Ney is expecting you, he has horses and a guard ready to flee the city."
"Colonel Ney? Why does he care about my life? I ruined the chances for the republic to keep the promises I made to you men." Brian replied.
"You tried, and that is more than anyone else had done for us." the Sargent replied. "And to him, that is enough, now head to Notre Dame, he's waiting for you there."
You nodded. "Any chance you can disorient the mob?"
"I'll try sir." He stated.
You nodded and ran down the street, towards Notre Dame. The city seemed alight with mobs and men of the national guard, conducting raids all across the city. In some houses and apartments, you heard gunshots and did not need to see the grizzly sights of the events unfolding to know precisely what was occurring. Several squares had erected guillotines and judges, enacting trials that were showier than the operas of old.
This was no simple coup now...this was the work of true radicals, true extremists of the greatest regard, who would stop at nothing...to see their will done upon God's earth.
The River Seine would run red with the blood of innocents.
And it was all your fault.
But as you wandered through the crowds and the mobs, you only received glances and glares, but many more just ignored you.
A dirty Homeless, shoeless soldier? There were thousands of them. A tall one? A Grenadier fallen on hard times, as all men do.
Brain Auclair was a general, with a fancy hat, uniform, and wealth, with horses and men under his command.
Who would expect him to go down into the gutters to hide?
Well, any man it seemed, except Maximilian Robespierre.
He thought you too proud to dirty yourself in the filth of the city's underbelly.
Clearly, he did not know you that well, even with all you have talked to him.
----------------------------------------------------
Notre Dame was empty, save for Ney himself, and a few horses, it seemed not even the Revolution would touch this place, even as an artifact, a lasting symbol of the old Burbon and the Capet kings of France. Old regimes meant nothing in this new, frightening world.
And this was perhaps a sign of God's Power on this earth, a sign of the fragile light that still touched and showed mercy on His world.
Your world was falling apart, but you always had friends.
Ney gave a nod. "I expected something far more… fitting for you?"
"It seems I can never escape filth and trash, even as a general." You replied, before looking down. "I have failed you, Michel… And I am sorry."
Ney for his part did not seem heartbroken by your response. "No… It is I who should be apologizing to you. I believed in you, and the work you have done. I thought you were the right man to lead France to the Future, a constant pillar of idealism and willingness to work for the People, and the soldiers who fight for them. It is we the Soldiers who put you in power who should have done more.."
"Yes, you should have done more for me...like not giving me the Job I was ill-suited for in the first place." You replied with bitterness.
"That was why we chose you. You would see that France prospered, not your own ideas." Ney stated. "Come, General Bonaparte is waiting for you, he needs his chief of staff."
And for the first time in a long time… you felt at peace. You knew what you needed to do.
You hated your brother-in-law for many things in your life since meeting him...but the clear direction and steady hand needed to see to victory was...appreciated.
You hated Paris...you always hated Paris ever since the Trial of his Sister...now you only had two ways you could ever enter it again.
In Victory, to end the Revolutionary Force you had devoted your life to supporting and replacing it with another.
Or in defeat, to meet your death at the hands of Men you had given mercy to... mercy your foes would never return.
If that was their stance on the matter....then you would not give them a chance to rise again.
Reward: Brain Auclair has escaped Paris, and he and almost half the general staff of the French Armed Forces have been named Traitors and Outlaws to the French Republic.
Napoleon Bonaparte is now Head of the Rival French Military Government, or as it is more popularly known as "The French Restoration Authority." Based in Lyon. A Majority of the French High command and junior officers have joined the Restoration Authority.
The Veterans of the Army of Italy, the North, have reformed into their units, and are seizing fortifications, arms, supplies, and other crucial war resources in the countryside.
Royalists of the Vendee, and many other regions are confused at the outcome that has befallen the nation, but do not believe what they are seeing, and have tentatively declared neutrality.
The Army of the Pyrenees has secured Southern France. And their forces are preparing a defense in the mountains from Spanish Bourbon Forces.
The Army of the Orient is Returning from Sicily to assist General Bonaparte.
The French Republic has organized the National Guard under General Macdonald, while Generals Marmont and Soult have taken command of the Army of the North, formerly the Army of the Netherlands.
France gains National Spirit: Civil War: All Wars are Civil, for all men are brothers. (This nation is at war with itself.)
AN: Well shit.
I didn't expect the Army rolls to go that well in your favor, but unfortunately, the Army of the North went Robe's way, so we're in a civil war.
A rather one-sided one at that, but a civil war nonetheless.
The Rumor mill that will react to the "HOLD SHIT FRANCE IS ON FIRE!"
Well uh… maybe we could convince Napoleon to go for a constitutional monarchy? Put Louis back on the throne in a ceremonial position to pacify the neighbors but Napoleon truly runs things with a parliament or a congress as prime minister or premier or whatever. Maybe we could get royalist support without destroying republican ideals that way.

We really have no choice in the matter here. Since the civil war is happening, a lot of our enemies are going to capitalize on this and start going after France and we are in no position to fight off our enemies while also dealing with a civil war. Therefore we have to put our enemies in a position where the drawbacks that would result from attacking France outweight the benefits, and for that we need to restore the Monarchy in some way. It was a mistake to allow Robespierre a trial, and now that mistake is back to haunt us. Provided that we catch Robe, he's either getting jailed or getting the guillotine, for he has made himself an enemy of France and a unwitting pawn of the foreign powers who seek the downfall of France
Since the civil war is happening, a lot of our enemies are going to capitalize on this and start going after France and we are in no position to fight off our enemies while also dealing with a civil war...
It does beg the question of which side they'd be rooting for: the Republic whose very existence is an existential threat to all monarchies or the counter-revolutionaries led by some of the most terrifying men (and woman) in Europe.
After we get our act together, France's foreign policy is going to be interesting to say the least.
I'm getting quite tired of how so many people here seem adamant in defending the revolution.
OTL it was a chaotic and incoherent mess, where the government changed on a whim, and rarely for the better, and this one seems determined to be a literal dumpster fire.
At what point do we just tell Napoleon to do his thing, I'm starting to look forward to the first French empire.
Heh. All this talk of making Louis the new king when the solution is right in front of us, as it always has been. Brian has accepted it. Max knows his time to stop it has almost run out. Napoleon knew it would come, one way or another.
If it takes a strong man to deny what's in front of him, then truly the denial of Napoleon's emperorship being the best for the nation and its people has become a herculean task.
Well, well... It may be a Civil War, but the Odds are very much in our Favor. We have most of the Generals on our side, as well as a lot of the armed Forces. Even more then that, we pretty much have all the Veterans with us. Robby and his Supporters only remain with fresh Recruits for the most part.
And if there is one truth to Warfare, it's this: You don't bring fresh Recruits to a hardened Veteran-Fight.
