Republicanism in France is dead for now. The people are just not ready for it.

Let's try giving constitutional monarchy a try.

Like, have a house of representatives who "pass recommendations to the monarch" and the monarch just do happens to rubber stamp all but the most absolutely fuck-stupid ones.

Any chance that France is going to start looking at its young buddy America for ways to try to handle the divide between cities and non-urban territories? Because from what I'm hearing it sounds like exactly what the US system of state electoral votes is meant for.

I'd argue they are ready for a more representative form of democracy.

The problem is, they just do not have the population of voters that are capable to fully represent the country yet.

Plus everyone wants to just have a stable government right now, and the republic just isn't doing that right now.
Let's try giving constitutional monarchy a try.
Louis: You put a crown on my head, I'll slaughter you all.

Maybe... but the whole thing is looking more and more authoritarian by the minute as of this writing.

I mean, you'll kinda be a de-facto prince again. But this is an empire, so really you'd be one of the many Dukes or Princes your dad's going to make. You'd only be Co-Emperor if Napoleon thinks you have what it takes to run the empire and the Roman Empire in the East is worth emulating.

Actually, that's a good Question: If this DOES turn to Empire and we do marry Napoleon, what would Louis' and Chalotte's Status be? They are practically our Children at this point, but were never officially adopted or anything.

Louis: Once again, you put a crown on my head, I'll slaughter you.

Therese: Louis, we've talked about this, threatening people with murder is not a solution.

Louis: Tell that to the Republicans.

Napoleon may just adopt them outright to give himself legitimacy to the Royalists in France, but would not force Louis to become Heir because let's face it, the kid would not accept it at all.

God now I want to see Napoleon awkwardly trying to bond with his new adopted son who he has nothing in common with except maybe being part of the military in very different carriers.

Napoleon: So...
Louis: Yeah...
Napoleon: ... You earned a medal in Sicily huh?
Louis: Yes I did.
Napoleon: That's good I remember earning my first medal...

Of course for all I know their will be a roll that he crits and Louis will become his darling little boy overnight.

Louis earned a citation for bravery, not a medal, along with being mentioned in our official dispatches. That is a pretty big deal for a young soldier like Louis.

Knowing Nappy, he'll feel threatened by the kid because he's been more manly at a younger age.

Although, knowing Louis, he might try suicide again, and that means we'll need to talk him down.

Alternatively he rolls a critfail, Louis will become his darling little boy overnight, and he tries to make him Prince again to his horror. :V

TFW you are a military genius who has already won numerous campaign and a major leader of one of most powerful countries in the world before you are even 30 but are threatened by a literal child's manly activities.
I mean, the kids a sniper, he wastes no time in fucking blowing officers away with a rifle

If Louis got his act together he would look very impressive to many Royalists along with a few officers and generals. Heck I'd say he's more impressive than most kings are right now.

Edit: Actually does the King of Naples realize he was shot at by Louis?

This has the potential to be hilarious if he continues to be successful like this.

That could cause people to compare him the Kings of Old at the head of his band of warriors, that the Royal Blood is strong within him, and that he is meant for greatness.

Meanwhile Louis just wants to be left alone and soldier on.

This feels appropriate:

A future painting of Empress Terese Auclaire titled "48 Hours Nonstop" the painting shows the state office of France as a jumbled mess full of diagrams and maps and charts and toy canons holding down huge stacks of papers. The desk is huge and has two bins with two signs declaring "in" and "done" the "done" bin filled to overflowing and the "in" bin is empty. Terese is conked out, snoozing away at her desk as Napoleon looks on fondly while holding another "in" bin filled with more papers and Louis is holding another empty "done" bin.

Okay, but seriously, that Image is kinda wholesome.

That is adorable!

And something that would totally be a propaganda piece.

Honestly Therese is great for propaganda. She's basically the second coming of Joan. Obviously some are trying make it a perfect second coming like Robespierre and his followers but many others are trying to avoid the France killing her part along with herself trying to avoid it. Not to mention the victories she has brought to France and just being very relatable.

Edit: Actually would the excommunicated by the Pope count as her heresy?

Well... relatable to a point. She did after all lead men into battle, has never been defeated, is the adopted older sister/ mother to two children who used to be royals of France, and she's really fucking tall for the time.

Also... Speaking of hight... I'm going to see if she's become taller since she's only 22 and has maybe one more year of growth left.

Honestly, what sort of Government is France going to have. Obviously, it will be some form of Military Dictatorship/Junta/Empire, but what kind exactly. The Generals can't make it an outright junta as even they would want some form of figleaf to serve as legitimacy for their coup. A Stratocracy? An Oligarchy?
