In Nuclear Fire

The splinters were connected to the Darkness. And the Winnower makes its displeasure with Jack known.
On that note, it raises a different question. Would Peter, should he ever roll Destiny as a Tech Base, actually be able to make something to connect to the Light or the Dark? Considering the fact that I doubt even something like an entity would be able to beat the Light or the Dark, I don't know.

Also, should he ever actually craft a connection to the Deep, would the Black Fleet appear somewhere in the Universe? Would the Sky/Light manifest as well? The Vex?

Actually, I can imagine Peter's shard now: "Hey... Winnower... Uh, I don't mean to be rude, but I kinda sorta landed on the section of the multiverse you are... y'know currently occupying and I was wondering if you could... well, maybe lend me a bit of your power so my host could use it a bit?"

Winnower: Meh. Screw it, why not. But if you try to become paracausal beings like your kind did the last time...

Peter's shard: "Yeah, I know. I'll let the rest of the network know too. Besides, you can just take it back."

Winnower: Or destroy your little teensy tiny section of the Multiverse.

Though going back to my earlier post, let me add one bit more:

Winnower:...Though while I have you, here is a little something for your host to create, with a condition.

Peter's Shard: this...[DATA]...what is your condition?

Winnower: the host of [Broadcast], the one your host calls Jack Slash, I wish to arrange things so he receives a...special...gift.

Peter's Shard: do even want to know?

Winnower: No. Amid the debates the Gardener and I have had over the eons, the one thing we agree on is the fact that piece of excrement deserves nothing but our contempt. Think of this as a means of letting my displeasure be known with him.

I wouldn't say that. I was more like Missy parents use her as weapon against the other. Sadly nothing new.
Exactly, Missy parents do love her though, it just what their doing is wrong using that poor kid like that , and what she did was somewhat predictable, it doesn't if you have powers you will eventually start acting your age, Taylor wasn't different in that scenario neither was Tattletale, they both act like teenagers and powers doesn't exactly help with their issues.

If they do get Destiny Tech, im just gonna not stop laughing cause I know how cancer some stasis abilitys are or most likely , Glacial Titan.

Honestly, that was just my first reaction to the latest chapter. She is a kid under a lot of pressure, being looked down on by her peers and all the adults in her life, and betrayed by people she thought she could trust and believed in. She is taking this opportunity to vent her pent up frustrations, but she is doing so by betraying someone that might possibly consider her to be a friend.

If it helps, I prefer your version of events to what was revealed in Ward.
It was the Original Wildbow version until he apparently decided to throw continuity off a cliff while burning

P-orcing All The Girls by Blackmarch? His snippet thread got one version where he got together with Taylor instead and one where he ended up in Harry Potter instead of Worm and got together with Hermione.
Gotta say, i think he is rewriting the thing, because greenskin has 35 chapters and has not been updated since 2019, while the one in QQ has 29 chapters and a lot of the same chapters but changes things around, for 1 Calvert is still alive and kicking instead of dead by SUV because of Moss startling him and his power shortcircuiting. Its also more tasteful in the ejem, buns in the oven department.

@Poliamida
Sorry to nitpick here. I know this is late and I reality do enjoy your story just something's that bothered me for awhile and I still haven't gotten over it any time the story has a bit of a call back or an allusion to it. So I wanna ask and just get it over with.
Something that I don't get back in the chapter where 'Belisaurus Cawl' me t with Director Piggot. When they Peter made that crack about Armsmaster not properly helping Kid Win why not reveal his specialty? Done as an off hand comment it'd show Cawl's abilities like he's flexing without even trying.
"Yes, but for every Armsmaster there are a thousand Kid Wins!"
"You haven't even figure out that poor boy's specialty is Modular!"
Wonder how true that thousand Kid Wins actually is? Don't all we really see is Brockton Bay?
I also would've liked it if they had corrected The Fight's proper name and ethnicity. She doesn't look anything like a fox! And 'Cawl' could have made a comment about them being a little racist for assuming without checking and giving the kitsune name to her for...why?
But the thing that irritates me the most is when the PRT outright declared that Heavy Gear is holding territory like a common villian gang. Yeah they kinda are now. But back then they were just protecting people that no one else is. I expected the response to be something like:
"And you say that after your underlings already took over territories."

"As I said, my objectives don't involve this city. My only purpose here is to guide my pupils. They do as they see fit."
"However I do not understand what you insinuate by 'took over' the former ABB territory. They liberated an oppressed people of your city that happened to be of an certain ethnicity. And from a foe that your Protectorate had so much trouble with that he was mostly left alone! Given their young age and relative inexperience they should be commended."
"The territory you claimed."

"If that's what you want to call it, yes. Two more are planned, and if the city wants more then I'm open to negotiation."
Missed opportunity.
"Again with this? From insinuation to outright declaration that I or Heavy Gear has claimed any land here or anywhere? Where is your proof? The deeds to the land? Tax files? The children are too young to buy property. They have stated no claims to own anything but what they carry and neither have I. If you can't possibly mean like the common gangsters do? Foolishly fighting and killing over streets and buildings they don't actually own? Yes they fight The Merchants and the Empire 88 but so have you. They've neither fought the police or your personnel nor seeked conflict with the legal authorities and you'd know that if the two of you had bothered to send anyone over to patrol and protect the people. I without fear of a lizard or his assassin endangering you. So if you'd like to do some good feel free to come on over anytime! I am sure your local civilians would be happy to know you care for them. Or are you actually staying away to help sell the imagine of a couple of young heroes who've fought Lung and defeated Lung the RAGE Dragon of Kyushu twice in your stead are just as dangerous villains and to be avoided rather than celebrated? Again I say if you have proof they have 'claimed territory' please use it instead of obscuring the facts to make them look bad so you look good."

Yesh! I honestly meant that to be a few lines but once I got started it just started to flow. Must have percolated more in my head than I thought.
Anyway, it's obvious at that point they weren't going to come to an agreement so why not hit them with some verbal blows when they had it so wrong?

The Light and The Darkness fall squarely in the realm of magic. Peter's power would see what they can do and try to copy the effects to the best of its abilities using the technology known to the entities. The result would be something that kind of looks like the Light/Dark but wouldn't be nearly as powerful. With work an effort the shard can crack the code, though. When that happens the real deal will enter the world and things will get weird.

Because neither Peter nor Taylor are real politicians and aren't really good at negotiating. Their modus operandi is 'kick the door, go in, get what they want, leave'. Then went into that meeting convinced that the PRT would accept the deal because it was logical and reasonable. When they got rejected they just gave up on talking to them and just went full-on 'Screw you, I'll build my own PRT with yu-gi-oh and robot girls!'

Poor Peter, when he rolls yu-gi-oh he will suffer from a huge case of decision paralyze around 5000 cards and a limited time to build them.

That maybe explain why he didn't make The Erase, sic her to Zion and call it a day.

That would border torture IMO.

Man Eater Bug, Chain Energy, Monster Reborn, Armored Insect Dragon, Change Of Heart, Sword Hunter, Black Pendant, Autonomous Action Unit, whatever that one card is called that turns ur opponents monsters into insect types, Dian Keto The Cure Master, Draining Shield, Mirror Wall, and VWXYZ Dragon Catapult Dragon (in of course, it's accompanying parts), come to mind.

Make a machine that draws cards instead.
But it actually prints the pictures as circuits (shallow laser cutting, metal powder deposition, heating).
Only downside, every card is single use and you have no control over whats made.

I'm not so sure about this last part, chief. The Vex are literal Galaxy Brains that extend through space-time on all axis that can simulate the Multiverse and infinite timelines on the regular and they haven't figured out either the Light or the Dark, though that may be because they're Acausal. They came close, but that was with The Black Garden and The Black Garden is fucky cause weird metaphysics. I mean, Panoptes had the entire Infinite Forest at his disposal and the best he could do was wait for the Light and the Dark to destroy each other cause the Vex could beat neither. A mimicry of some of the simple stuff is possible like you said, but pulling out full-on paracausal shit... I dunno.

Also, is it wrong for me to want to see a singular Doom Dorrito delete Zion for existence?

Not really, fanon greg is just very very stupid and so many people think that's the canon version. He's a normal teenager who we don't know much about, he lie many other characters gets twisted and the few traits we see of him from taylors point of view gets taken too the extreme. And since A lot of writers of worm fanfiction hasn't even read the source material they think that the fanon version is canon.
There are 2 great Greg Veders in the Fandom (at least if you ask me) both from the same author, one is Vindicator the Paladin from The Warcrafted, who verbally lashed out at Emma(best burn i heard yet against Emma Barnes in the Fandom btw "You heard me, you SOULLESS BITCH. What kind of a bloodless hag laughs at a girl for crying over her dead Mom? Wouldn't YOU cry if your Mom died?" He paused, all but jittering in place with his suppressed anger. "No, I bet you wouldn't, You'd probably just roll her dead body for loose change and credit cards.") for what she did to Taylor and ends up becoming the new Target in Winslow until an Agent selects him after that he proceeds to give Lung a spanking alongside the rest of the Warcrafted+Wards and much later he kills fucking Mannequin.

The other is the second Mythic Trigger of Earth Bet Void Cowboy (the third best Tinker in the world for the simple reason that he is Dragon on steroids. Give him tinkertech and he can improve it and make it replicable using mundane means) in Ladybird, basically Taylor trigger is hijacked by Celestia and Luna and they turn her into a Unicorn, who proceeds to win the award at cutest Carrie and hands SS and Emma their asses. Armsmaster then, after seeing what they had done and the press saying something really insensitive, proceeds to do an impromptu speech and ends up calling the entirety of the student population gutless little shits for never stepping up and stopping the harassment or helping Taylor, instead pointing and laughing, reveling in the misery.
Turns out Greg was there and it shattered his world view, not enough to trigger thank God,
So long story short, XxVoid_CowboyxX apologies for everything and leaves PHO, tries to be a hero, triggers in a fight against lung and Luna turns him into an Earth Pony...who then proceeds to make his debut and leave a mark in the Cape scene....using Lung's Face.
Greg in Ladybird is super relatable because well.....(His family had moved often when he was young. For a few days things would be fine. Then one day he'd show up and everyone would shuffle their seats so there was no room for him. Or he'd see one of the girls, out of the corner of his eye, curling her lip like she'd smelled something rancid when he walked past. It had long ago reached a point that any time he joined some new social circle-- a new neighborhood, a new school, a new class-- he considered it a question not of IF, but HOW LONG before he was an outcast again, despised by everyone there.) And this has been going on since first grade. He even lampshades and admits that it may be due to foot in mouth and being a nerd+geek.

No, no, let me clarify. This wouldn't be the shard being able to control the Dark and Light, this would be the shard opening the door and lighting up a giant sign that reads 'free all you can eat souls buffet'. What the D and L do after that will be up to them.

Same if he gets Warhammer and manages to unlock Warp powers. Awesome, you have psychic powers now, but the Chaos Gods also know about you and that may not be healthy.

For the record, Peter would totally try to join the Dark first.

Oh, dear.

Well, thanks for the clarification and I pray for Earth Bet's safety. Also, if the Light and the Dark come in, that means The Pattern/The Vex will come in too. Which is a very much not good thing.

Now... Vex Mecha Zerg... Nope, still not a good thing. I mean, very good in the sense that, "Oh god will no one ever challenge me ever", but very not good in the sense that Vex Mecha Zerg sounds terrifying. Infinitely fractal time travelling Acausal murder space locusts that turn planets into CPUs to simulate turning other planets into CPUs.

That shoot swirly black hole matter from a different timeline, exotic matter that removes your existence, and S L A P... well, I can see Peter having fun with the Vex.

Also, if I may ask, what type of Dark power would Peter be going after? Taking, like Oryx? Stasis? Hive tom-fuckery? Those weird plant things aboard the Glykon that turned a guardian into the caricature of Hentai everywhere?

More likely take the same path as Clovis Bray I and recreate the Exo Project, with the goal of turning himself into Peter-1. It does fit his style, though it would make him into just as an insufferable prick as Clovis.

But moving on from Destiny, any theories on what the next tech tree Peter will gain?
