Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

That didn't explain HOW she knew they were his.

Also that could have happened...what demons obey The Silent Wind?

[X] Yes, of course. Milly has also made a pact with a demon. Demons who love parties. Clearly this can only be a vision, brought about by the stress of the day and exposure to the power of Oramus. The madness of your patron showing you a hellish other world. There is only one sane response to such horror.

Err....sorry if this was covered but why don't we already have access to the 5 Reclamation Yozi charms? Was this house ruled? Because as per the book once they open the door, all the Infernals get access to the charms.

Well, having used the fact that the Melefactor and Scourge characters included ones from CG: Akito I finally got the current episodes of that out of my backlog of stuff to watch, so I think I have an idea now of who you'd pick. Here's my guess...

Ryo is definitely a warrior type, he's pretty independent, a bit hedonistic, and most importantly he has a canon failure which the Yozis could take advantage of to make him an offer - his group having originally had eleven members and going down to three means a lot of them died at some point, which he might easily blame himself for. I could see Isidoris going for him.

The little extra might be his two companions, the genius explosives expert and super hacker and the martial arts/kodachi chick.

If it's not him, I can only think that butterflies due to Exaltation have made it instead this guy...

He's wild, ruthless, and arrogant, and would probably be the type of person Isidoris would like. The only issue is a chance to fail so that the Yozis would have a chance to make an offer. If butterflies occurred at some point due to Exalted bullshit to prevent him from being found and taken into the Knights of St. Michael, as seen here from the credits...

...then I could see him having a chance to fail. Either that or failing to impress Shin enough to be taken in is his failure moment. The full character history isn't exactly explained in the wiki, so I'm kind of guessing here based on this stuff.

Extra might be having that giant dog/wolf as a familiar.
Not quite, but you're getting close with the CG: Akito angle.

Would it be in theme for an Oramus charm to allow Lulu's various fake persona created by earlier charms to go off and do things while Lulu is at another location?

Kind of a means to be in multiple locations at the same time?

Would definitely make being Zero easier, and almost impossible to prove Lelouch and Zero are one and the same.
Uhm...I think being in multiple places at once is doable.

I didn't get that from the post...but it could be true I guess.

Maybe Alexander will say something
All will be revealed next post

Access, yes. Who gets it, save for those receiving the specific Caste...it's still up to the Yozi.

Access, yes. Who gets it, save for those receiving the specific Caste...it's still up to the Yozi.
To clarify my position, as per the book when a Yozi opens the door aka allows a Infernal to use their charms, ALL the infernals get it without exceptions. The 5 Reclamation Yozi have already opened their charms to the Infernals and all of them regardless of Caste have access to those charms. Just at an extra 2xp price if it isn't caste or favored.

Infact the 5 Yozi, well 4 since Adorjan didn't really join in on this, tried to get the others to pen their charms to the Infernals as well, citing a number of benifits like preserving power incase of Fetitch Death and others. So far they have only convinced Kimbery but a few were considering it like Isodorus and Sorzeny.

The infernal sig characters also have multiple charms from multiple Yozi. The book also clarifies that once the door is open it cannot be closed and if it is granted to one infernal all infernal gets it.

Green Sun Princes work differently. Once a Yozi personally
teaches any of its Charms to one of Hell's Chosen, the
door opens for all Green Sun Princes to learn any of that
Yozi's Charms, even without a teacher. Once opened, this
door can't be closed, which is a major source of reluctance
from the Yozis who have not yet decided to take part in the
Green Sun Prince initiative. Infernals can't learn Charms
for Yozis they can't access or Charms one Yozi adapted from
study of a sibling, even if taught by someone who knows the
Charm. Fiends are an exception and may learn the Charms of
prohibited Yozis as foreign Charms using their anima power,
though this does not unlock that Yozi's Charms for all Green
Sun Princes. They can teach Infernal Charms to anyone capable
of learning them and cannot learn the Charms of other
beings except through effects like the Fiend anima power.

Interesting

Is there any downside for the tattoo? How many tattoos can Lelouch take?

Alexander would probably limit it to one tattoo (I would if I were GM) but other than the fact that your tattoo is a bit freaky due to seeming to be alive (which it is, but isn't too much of a disadvantage to Lelouch given he's super fascinating anyways) there aren't any noted disadvantages. You could make it into a Hellforged Wonder to make it more powerful, which means it would also be sentient, but that would also give you an extra Urge to deal with until you removed the tattoo.

Check the house rules on the first page. In this quest you need to request a Yozi to give access to their charms. This is due to Alexander's anti-XP sink rules that make repurchases of Charms free, which includes First Excellencies.

Maybe Essence/2 limit? Like your current Essence is 2 then you can only get 1 and you can only get 1 more once you reach Essence 4.

Talking about wonders from Hell, does anyone has any idea how to make chalcanth (the life force of a demon preserved in vitriol) something a little less evil? Since it's basically "we melt people into living materials", even if the people are demons and most are dumb enough to be mass produced clones of each other?

Make something like Chrysalis Grotesque, put the demon into it, wait, once the demon comes out it has 1 AHL and 2 LHL, the chrysalis now is a lesser copy of the demon which can be melt into chalcanth (think about magitek hell biophotocopy machine).

[X] Mild freak out.

Milly is someone we know well, and frankly the best possible person we could be dealing with.

...I'm a bit concerned, but we should calm the fuck down and listen to what she says before we do anything dumb.

Chalcanth
Talking about wonders from Hell, does anyone has any idea how to make chalcanth (the life force of a demon preserved in vitriol) something a little less evil? Since it's basically "we melt people into living materials", even if the people are demons and most are dumb enough to be mass produced clones of each other?

Ok, I have an idea I think will work. Don't completely remove that because Hell is still an alien place with a very different culture, but make alternatives...

1. Chalcanth is divided into three tiers in regards to First Circle demons. Living chalcanth, chalcanth, and lesser chalcanth. Living chalcanth is the stuff you need to make Hellforged Wonders, regular chalcanth is what you need to make three dot artifacts when made from First Circle demons, and lesser chalcanth is what you need for one or two dot artifacts when made by First Circle demons. If a serf were to ever get ahold of chalcanth to drink, they're likely to get the lesser kind.

2. How each tier is made...
- Living chalcanth is made by the canon method, except the demon is willingly volunteering and their soul is preserved in the process because they are not resisting. Very few demons volunteer for this, primarily because there are few people they would trust enough to not treat them as a high quality luxury beverage to be consumed or sold at a premium. That said, demons are alien in their mindset and they don't necessarily mind being turned into an item so long as it suits their motivations, so if someone they feel won't treat them like a beverage convinces them they'll agree to it so they can be made into a sentient item.

- Regular chalcanth is made in one of two methods.
-- The first is the canon method, and the demon in question is unwilling. However, anyone in Hell doing this outside of punishing a rebelling subordinate or an enemy who has done something to warrant it tends to get a reputation, ends up making a lot of enemies, and probably gets assassinated... unless they're a Second Circle Demon or an Infernal Exalt, in which case nobody can really do fuck all about it except another one of those, but even so any such person can expect to have far fewer vassals and serfs willing to serve them. If it's done to demons that are pretty much mindless animals, nobody really gives a fuck because it's like slaughtering cattle for meat.
-- The second method is something the neomah do. In exchange for their services as courtesans, neomah demand a price that their customer give them some piece of themselves (an eye, a finger, a limb, etc.). Canonically the only thing they do with this is sew them together to make a new, unique demon that they then abandon. However, here we can have them take an additional option - they take the part, throw it into a jar of vitriol, and sell it to a chalcanth brewer or use it to pay their taxes. Neomah might put out signs showing what kind of demon they want as a customer in this case (indicating a 'discount' of sorts) Other demons who provide goods and services will take this kind of payment as well. Once a chalcanth brewer has enough vitriol with essence saved up this way made from a single breed of demon, they can make it into regular chalcanth that represents the 'average' of that breed. You can make 'hybrid' chalcanth if you know what you're doing, but it's difficult. Demons do this voluntarily because they're bound to die sooner or later, and the neomah or some other high quality service normally out of their reach is often on their bucket list, though sometimes pieces like this can be taken as a punishment.

-Lesser chalcanth is made by a large number of demons of a particular type channeling Essence into vitriol. This takes a lot of time and a lot of Essence since nothing permanent is being sacrificed. This is a low paying job for serfs, really, or something you might do once a week if you can't pay taxes any other way.

3. For chalcanth made from Second and Third Circle demons, the above methods do work, but their tiers are living, greater, and regular because they refuse to be called lesser. Second Circle greater chalcanth comes from a Second Circle demon sacrificing a piece of itself and can make five dot artifacts that are not sapient, and regular comes from them investing motes over a long period of time and can make four dot artifacts. Third Circle greater chalcanth comes from sacrificing a piece of themselves and can make N/A artifacts that are not sapient, and regular can be used to make five dot artifacts. If you can get either a Second or Third Circle Demon to volunteer to fully be turned into living chalcanth, you can make four or five dot and N/A Hellforged Wonders respectively. The involuntary process will just get you a large amount of greater chalcanth, but good luck actually having the power to force it.

That sound workable?

Suzaku exalting is a bad thing, because he has this way of fucking up Lelouch's work when he has a chance.

Plus it kinda turns demons into just a source of powerups by killing them instead of being interesting characters you can interact with, which seems wrong.

I like this. Still alien, because demons see nothing wrong using pieces of themselves as materials to use, but easier for a human to accept. Plus I doubt we will see many N/A Artifacts in this quest, and most of them will be so old that worrying about what was needed to make them is pointless.

Current tally. Nothing has a majority, but one option has a larger plurality. There's probably a way to combine the top two or three options in some manner, though. I'm sure whatever the GM does will be funny.

Pretty sure that most generic demons don't actually have much of a mind or personality at least, so it's not exactly much different from slaughtering animals for the purpose. I'd personally treat it like soulsteel:
-'generic' soulsteel/chalcanth is made from ghosts which have largely worn out their selfawareness or demons with no sense of self(aka, basically a meat automaton). This is used in the common works and applications of the material. They don't have enough personality to put up much resistance.

-'heroic' soulsteel/chalcanth is made from unique individuals, with a personality and such. Willingness still optional because of inhuman psychology but they are valuable enough to constitute materials for permanent works rather than consumables, in part because it's wasteful of their individual traits and quirks, as they give no benefit over the generic form if just consumed. This is also colored by whether they are willing or not, since an unwilling soul would produce a more recalcitrant and finicky artifact.

You need a purpose for Hell/Underworld to actually treat them less cavalierly after all. There simply isn't many who'd care, but efficiency, rarity, convenience and waste speaks to all.

I'm pretty sure most of them do have personalities - first circle demons at least can all be people, just like humans.
