Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

[X] Bring Kaguya with you

[X] Elloge

That was amazing, as usual. Did not expect the ponies, but eh, still pretty funny.

For the Yozi, I suggest Elloge, because we intend to forge our own story, one that topples an empire, throws down the Gods, and frees the Yozis. Why wouldn't the incarnation of stories aid such a creation come into existence?

EDIT: Also, who the hell is Ta'akozoka?

This means that it only applies to Lelouch's name as Lelouch, not Zero, until he gets the appropriate Charm to expand it:
Since, as you noted, the charmset doesn't have a charm to expand the list of names, we could either ignore that bit entirely or whip up a custom charm to make new names our own.

To expand on what I just posted, would Mardukth actually respect Lelouch enough to grant him access to his Charms? Lelouch has been hiding under a false identity for seven years, and is now still hiding his identity under a mask. That is not what Mardukth is. He declares his Name loud and proud to the world, not hiding himself. Do you think he'd respect Lelouch?
You could make that argument for most any Yozi, especially Malfeas whom you are championing. Malfeas is the tyrant, the king. He doesn't hide himself because hiding is impossible. What would he think of a lost prince sold away who survived only by hiding?

In contrast, we can explain how we plan to make our name the grandest in all the world, spearheading the revolution against Britannia. Everyone will know, respect, admire and follow Zero of the Rebellion.

And you're a bit mistaken about what Mardukth is: He doesn't declare himself, he makes others declare him. He is a legend, defined by those who believe in him. Malfeas' charms are lacking when it comes to large-scale leadership and organization; he is a singular force on the battlefield. Mardukth provides a number of ways to build large organizations by our name alone and lead them into battle, guiding those who believe in him to victory.

Lelouch resonates far more with Mardukth than Malfeas.

...So will Erembour be brought into her harem?
More like we'll all be brought into Erembour's harem. Lady is smooth.

Another point I'd like to make for Mardukth: He's got great leadership charms, while Malfeas has great personal charms. I'd like you to take a look at Ravenous Beastlord's Arsenal:
Cost: —; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Entourage 2, War
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Beast Master's Menagerie, Mountain Shelters Many
Those who inflate Mardukth's ego share in his grandeur. They become his tools to wield; their claws and fangs are his weapons. While the Infernal engages in physical combat within (Essence x 10) yards of his Followers and Familiars, they add his (Essence) to their Lethal and Bashing Soak. When they undertake a Coordinated Attack at his request, they gain (Essence) automatic successes on the attack. In mass combat, if the Infernal leads a unit composed predominantly of his Followers and Familiars, the unit gains a minimum Might equal to his Essence, to a maximum of five, regardless of distance. If the unit is composed entirely of his Followers and Familiars, it treats its Magnitude as being one higher for any purpose the Infernal desires.
Followers and Familiars within land consecrated by Megalithic Orogeny Memorial gain these benefits even while the Infernal is away.

With 4 charm purchases, we could turn the Black Knights into a combat unit capable of fighting far outside its weight class. Might and Magnitude are the deciding aspects of mass-combat and we'll be going up against armies that outclass us in both areas. This charm easily rectifies that and gives us the advantage.

Malfeas has no similar leadership charms. He is all about personal conflict. GSNF and its upgrades are nice, but Lelouch always commanded from a safer location, only entering combat when forced or to deliver a critical blow. Let's play to our strengths.

Name Shrouded Under Veils
Cost: -; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Masque of Hollow Faces

It is the sole pleasure of Oramus in his imprisonment that he may mock those who propose to know his true name, for in actuality he has seven impossible ones and all the other monikers, titles and sobriquets mortals create can never properly describe or define his true and utterly paradoxical nature. This Charm permanently upgrades Masque of Hollow Faces. In addition to the mental disguise it creates the Infernal may take a new name as part of it which to all Charms and other techniques for telling the truth is his actual name. This name must maintain a level of verisimilitude - a name which rings false to others will not work for such purposes.
A repurchase at Essence 4 allow the warlock's fake moniker to be a title of some description, like 'the Lady' or somesuch. A final repurchase at Essence 5 allows the Green Sun Prince to assign a different name to each of the fake personalities he creates, hiding his true identity under a great number of veils.

Don't mind me, just gonna stick this here.

The bank squid. The Bank Squid.

Well said. We've got Akito for Slayer-ing: We're a commander.

...

We also get even more of a reason to act like a large ham. c:

A primordial who is supposed to be dead. (She was the great tentacled one, at least one fan created charmset had her being all about gaining resourches and gaining even more resources.)

Why she is in the list?
The Neverborn are nameless entities who only act through the Deathlords. They're placeholders. If there's a neat charmset for a previously-Neverborn Yozi, it's more fun to handwave it back into life.

Charm: Witness to Darkness
Intimacy: Erembour (Massive Crush)(Positive)

My Exalted lore is total shit, but if I'm right, then Lelouch just caused a Soul Piece of a Eldritch Dragon Demon-King to fall for him. Well DONE! Seriously this was freaking great man and our choices stacked beautifully!
One of Erembour's sub-souls is Dear Footed Mara, the creator of Black Claw style (love is a lie).

On the other-hand, Black Claw style is a great supernatural martial art for social exalts.

The bank squid. The Bank Squid.

AKA Scrooge McDuck the Primordial. With Tentacles.

[X] Bring Kaguya with you

[X] Mardukth
If nothing else, we can probably heresy up some charms between Mardukth, Oramus and TED to get em working the way we want.
Although, that would require Lelouch figuring out heresy. Humm... Meh. There's good stuff even without that.

Since, as you noted, the charmset doesn't have a charm to expand the list of names, we could either ignore that bit entirely or whip up a custom charm to make new names our own.

Actually, I'm not sure it would work even if we did - a sobriquet that refers to Zero is still referring to a mask, not as someone operating openly as themself. A name like "The Black Prince" would probably work, but Zero never would because the identity of "Zero" is not intrinsically linked to "Lelouch vi Britannia" in the minds of others.

And no, we can't just decide we can ignore that part. @Alexander89 would have to approve of that change, and I don't think he would. Though perhaps he might also enlighten us on how he'd handle the mechanic described as well, just so we're sure.

You could make that argument for most any Yozi, especially Malfeas whom you are championing. Malfeas is the tyrant, the king. He doesn't hide himself because hiding is impossible. What would he think of a lost prince sold away who survived only by hiding?

Lelouch wouldn't be 100% compatible with any Yozi by the sheer virtue of the fact that he's human. But I feel there's far greater compatibility with Malfeas than with Mardukth. Points of similarity (Excellency keywords italicized):

- Both have been stripped of their rightful positions of power.
- Both hate those who they believe wronged them, and they want vengeance. And in addition to loathing those people, they both loath themselves even more.
- Both are proud and arrogant.
- Malfeas appreciates boldness. Lelouch's plan for Japan was so bold that it made Ligier declare it was the boldest plan he has heard in millennia.
- Ligier shines through anything. We just made an artifact mask to let our fabulous self shine through it even while hidden.
- They are both royalty, and Lelouch is gunning to become an emperor. Authority is a key part of Malfeas, and Lelouch will hold a lot of it.
- As Zero, Lelouch will inspire both awe and terror, things that are important to Malfeas's being.
- Malfeas is ostentatious. As Zero, Lelouch is ostentatious as fuck.
- Lelouch's plans can often can involve collateral damage. It's not something he particularly likes once it's brought to his attention, but he often doesn't notice the little people while he's engaging in his plans or just realizes that it's a necessity for them to work and lives with it. He can be indiscriminately callous when he needs to be.
- Lelouch has a good Performance rating. This includes him knowing how to play the piano. Malfeas has a secret love of dance and music.

Yeah, he might not like that Lelouch has hidden himself, but that's less core to Malfeas than it is to Mardukth. After all, Ligier is able to decide to not let his light shine through something.

The problem again is that Zero is still a false identity. It's not a true name, which is something that matters to Mardukth's charms. Lelouch isn't operating and declaring himself as Lelouch vi Britannia, which is what the Charms would resonate with, he's operating as Zero. Mardukth may have his legend declared by others, but they declare it as the legend of Mardukth or some other appropriate title that identifies him as Mardukth, not as something else. With Mardukth it's an absolute necessity to openly display himself as Mardukth so others can declare his legend.

...So will Erembour be brought into her harem?

She's clearly Lelouch's waifu now. :p

Don't mind me, just gonna stick this here.

"This name must maintain a level of verisimilitude - a name which rings false to others will not work for such purposes." - we've pretty much declared that Zero is nobody in particular, a symbol rather than a particular person. Would that work for declaring it as a name of Lelouch vi Britannia? Right now I don't think it would, as Zero is just a tool he made. In time it might become more core to his identity, but at this point it's a mask he wears for a purpose rather than something that is truly part of him.

But again, the first problem is actually getting Mardukth to recognize that Lelouch is worthy, and I'm not convinced he would.

Points of similarity (Excellency keywords italicized):
Very interesting. Let me counter:

Both held positions of power and had it taken from them.
Both are impressive and intimidating
Both are vainglorious, exerting undeniable dominion
Both wield authority without mandate
Both attract an entourage and shelter them
Both satisfy others' expectations of greatness

Lelouch's plans revolve around gaining popular support and uniting the nation behind him. Mardukth is all about rallying others to him.

Look at the excellency keywords you selected: Hate, vengeance, arrogant, boldness, awe, terror, ostentatious, collateral damage. These are not traits for a unifying leader, they are traits of a tyrant who batters his servants into submission, which is what Malfeas does.

As for your other objection, the naming issue, I find that it doesn't really matter either way. In canon CG, Zero acknowledged that others could mimic him or claim him false: His response was that he'd prove himself through his deeds. Lelouch didn't need people to recognize that he was Zero, because only Zero could fill those shoes. That even became a plot-point in R2 when he dressed everyone up as Zero to exploit a legalistic loophole. If anything, I think this point would endear him further to Mardukth; Lelouch is willing to step aside from his given name to operate under one that more people will recognize. He'll create a legend which he must choose to embody. That's Mardukth to a 't'.

Look at the actual Excellency that describes Mardukth's methods of acting, specifically the last sentence:

FIRST MARDUKTH EXCELLENCY
Cost: 1m per die; Mins: Essence 1; Type: Reflexive (Step 1 or Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: None
The Mountain and the Beast Upon It is immense, impressive, and intimidating. His ways are the old ways, barbaric and demanding. He strides vaingloriously across even the most treacherous landscapes, exerting undeniable dominion over slaves and beasts alike. He wields authority without mandate, for no one else could grant it to him. All recognize his mastery intrinsically. As a being of immeasurable might, he maintains his claim simply by being unchallenged. Unconsciously prominent, he attracts an entourage and shelters them with his seemingly impossible grandeur. Those who submit or yield are blessed by the magnifying power of his name. Hearing their praise, he conforms to legends and satisfies their expectations of greatness. Those who foolishly attempt to resist the irresistible he overwhelms without comment or remorse. Fortunately for most of Creation, he considers the affairs of others are beneath him. He resides amid the cyclopean memorials, hunting and seeking answers that will appease his vanity.

This Charm may always be used to help the character climb or while the character gains an advantage for possessing high ground. It can also be used to expand prior works. It cannot help the character hide, disguise, or lie about his identity or while engaged in such deceptions.

Lelouch has lied about his identity for seven years. He will continue to do so both as Lelouch Lamperouge and as Zero, and has told his Coven that Lelouch vi Britannia is better of remaining "dead". And again it's important to note that Zero is a mask, a disguise that Lelouch is using to once again hide his identity. Hell, Lelouch wearing various masks around his true self and people wearing masks and lying and hiding their true selves from others is a major theme of Code Geass.

Think about it - you're arguing for taking the Charms of a Yozi whose Excellency Lelouch will be unable to use the vast majority of the time because most of the time he's either Lelouch Lamperouge or Zero rather than Lelouch vi Britannia.
