Grand Army of the Republic: A Star Wars Plan Quest

Well thank God it is! These evil Space Wizards deserve to get slapped at every opportunity.

Also, I'm just REALLY annoyed at the Wank they tend to receive from many Fans.

Don't you know? The Sith are merely an oppressed group of freedom lovers who embrace their emotions, which is always a good thing, unlike those stuffy, uptight Jedi who are responsible for every bad thing that happens in the Galaxy through their oppressive imposing of their ways on everyone/massive glaring incompetence. And the claims that the Sith are murderous pieces of shit who bring about pain and suffering don't know about my Light Side Sith in my SWTOR playthrough or Darth Vectivus, the guy that made phantoms that could be tied to people's life force without their knowledge or consent and when those died so did the person they were sympathetically linked to and when his spirit was called for to be asked if it was okay to murder a child if they were going to become a cruel tyrant, he more or less replied "Child murder? Fuck yeah!"

To be fair, Sith sorcery and Sith alchemy is rad as all hell. Love it, love villain aesthetic. But I need Good Guy Jango.
What I MEAN is the Fans who unironically try to portray them as the good Guys.

I love them as Villains too.

This. SO. MUCH. THIS!!!

[X] Kriff the Sith. Dooku was one of those responsible for Galidraan and while you thought that you had put all of that behind, old memories are stirring. Not to mention how the Sith have treated Mandalorian people in the past and, well, you can't help, but wonder what plans Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus have for your people in their schemes.

[X] Glory of Mandalore. It has been a long time since you last called yourself Mand'alor, but that was before you found yourself being placed in charge of an army of soldiers with Mandalorian blood. Perhaps this clone army will be your second chance to restore the Clans to honour and greatness.

don't know about my Light Side Sith in my SWTOR playthrough
What's especially ironic about this is that LS!Sith-Playthroughs make VERY clear just how much of an anomaly they are within the Sith-Order. Almost nobody among their fellow Sith shares their views and morals. Heck, a lot of the time they have to actively hide them and mask their kindness as deviousness. And even then, they can get up to some pretty shady stuff.
Are the LS!Sith in SWTOR interesting and fascinating Characters? Hell yes. Are they in any way a 'proof' that the Sith in general are the real good Guys? Hell no, if anything they reinforce the opposite of that view.

I guess this is more a fanfic thing because I don't recall any quests going on like this at all. At most they go down the grey route, or make some of the Sith characters a bit more affable.

Yeah I don't really like the idea of heroic Sith. Though I have always been open to the idea of a Sith who was a Punisher style Antihero,

[X] Cold Hard Credits. Kriff the Sith, kriff the Jedi, kriff the Republic and kriff Mandalore. You turned your back on Mandalore almost a decade ago in favour of earning credits. No need to change that just because this job is getting you all sentimental.

The voting is still open for now, but since there has already been a lot of interest, I'll be closing the vote in the morning after I've gotten up and gone online.

The vote is now closed. Jango's primary motivation is now screwing up the plans of Dooku and the Sith.

Industry (3 Dice): +5

[] Develop Kaminoan Shipyards (Phase I)
Kamino currently has no way of locally producing starships, but if you are willing to put the time and resources into it, that can change. It would only be some basic shipyards in orbit around the planet, but it would be a start.
(0/100 30 Resources per Die) (+ Production)

[] Develop Kaminoan Blaster Factories (Phase I)
Rather than buy blasters from outside entities, you could attempt to produce them all locally on Kamino. You just need to put the effort and credits into setting up some local production.

Cloning (5 Die): +10

[] Initial Clone Production (Phase I)
At the end of the day, you do need to produce the clones and the sooner you get started, the better as it will take most of a decade for them to reach a fighting age.
(0/50, 10 Resources per Die) (- Facilities, - Trainers, + Clones)

Training (5 Dice): +15

[] Construct Training Facilities (Phase I)
You will need somewhere to train your clones to fight and use their equipment. Set up some locations on Kamino for the clones to receive training.
(0/100, 15 Resources per Die) (--Facilities, -Logistics, ++ Trainers)

[] Construct Learning Facilities (Phase I)
Even with the accelerated ageing, the clones will spend a few years as children so you will need to teach them some basic stuff. And even if they weren't kids, you would still need to teach them the basics.
(0/100, 15 Resources per Die) (--Facilities ++ Trainers)

[] Recruit Mandalorian Trainers (Phase I)
You might be the last of the True Mandalorians, but you aren't without contacts with your people. Send out some feelers to see if any of your fellow Mandalorians are willing to sign on as trainers for the clones.
(0/150, 15 Resources per Die) (++ Trainers)

Over your career as a bounty hunter, you have made plenty of contacts in the community and know the reputations of anyone worth knowing. Find some people who can both keep their mouths shut and are willing to sign on as trainers.
(0/100, 20 Resources per Die) (+2 E, ++ Trainers)

[] Recruit Professional Trainers (Phase I)
You need trainers and the galaxy has no shortage of professional military trainers from worlds like Carida, Corulag and Anaxes. It would draw some attention, but you could hire some of these professionals as trainers.
(0/100, 20 Resources per Die) (+5 E, ++ Trainers)

(0/500, 25 Resources per Die)

[] Slowed Ageing
While the accelerated ageing is desirable for getting the clones to a fighting age in a timely manner, it stops being desirable at that point as the clones will become too old to fight much sooner. Look into a way of slowing down how fast the clones age after a certain point.
(0/600, 30 Resources per Die)

The clone army is going to need some weapons to fight with and for the purposes of secrecy, you intend to develop them inhouse.

(0/400, 25 Resources per Die)

Administration (3 Dice): +0

[] Do The Kriffing Paperwork
You are a man of action and hate wasting time on paperwork. Except it isn't actually a waste and is quite important. Important enough that you should probably put the time into getting it done.
(0/500, 5 Resources per Die) (+1 Free Die)

[] Hiring Paper Pushers (Phase I)
Paper works need doing, but that doesn't mean that you or any of your current subordinates have to do it. Look around for some bureaucrats that have a good appreciation for discretion and secrecy.
(0/300) (+1d10 E, +3 to Administration Dice)

[] Hiring Outside Expertise
You are good at what you do and the Kaminoans know their business, but you don't have all of the expertise that you need to do a good job getting things done inhouse. Hire some outside experts so things can be done more easily in the future.
(DC 50/70/90) (-1 SS, +3 E/-3 SS, +5 E/-5 SS, +8 E)

[] Equipment Suppliers
There are plenty of people who make basic equipment for others to buy out there. Instead of making your own, you could pay them to make them for you. Sure, this is a secret project, you don't need to tell them the truth.

Anyway, I'm intending for my plan quest twist to be that you know what you are doing and the time frame you have, which is a trio of three-year plans or the end of Q4 23 BBY. You just have to decide on what you are doing and get it done in time so you will have more options than you can take advantage of. Your challenge is deciding your own path to victory and successfully following it.

You also will have to worry about keeping your bosses happy and balancing secret against efficiency as outsourcing allows for better outcomes as you take advantage of outside expertise, but risks exposing your operations and getting shut down. Everything except research and development are known outcomes, but that doesn't tell you what path you need to take to achieve your goals.

You have your goal, you have your timeframe and you have your options. You just need to figure out how to make those all fit together.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to.

[] Slowed Ageing
This is nice, gives the clones a chance at an actual life and stops them being a self-terminating problem, so to speak. Both of which slightly screw Palp's intentions without actually doing anything unreasonable.
Edit: also that's a huge amount of dice huh. And will have to catch the actual discussion and planning later on.

Developing local Kaminoan industries will be benefecial for faster production time and a source of revenue while also possibly gaining the respect of the Kaminoans for bringing them more money.

That respect can results in us currying favor with them to use for.
