Grand Army of the Republic: A Star Wars Plan Quest

Well we have to put 4 dice into clones. 3 into the operations and 1 into the production. Get production close since even with a nat 100 it won't go over and then make doubly sure that productions is absolutely going to complete this turn.

As for administrative dice I would say 3 dice in Burying Secrets and 2 into each of the LAAT contracts. Or 4 dice in Acclamators so our clone forces have enough transport ships to move out.

We will have new goals starting next turn, so why not have a little head start in several areas that are in demand? Maybe put one die in several areas and see what sticks. Four should be enough as the last three will be used to bury the evidence.

I'm in favor of throwing 6 dices into Operations so that when we hit Phase 12 of Clone Production, we can actually activate the next phase of operations automatically.

I also want to fix our next plan goals so I think we should focus on the LAAT contracts, because Gunships would probably be part of it. Get it started now.

Gunships. I think we will hit our Capital quotas easily with how much we are procuring each turn, it's the Gunships I'm worried about. We have very few of them.

Math post ahead for plan makers:

Infrastructure

:

[] Expand into Tipoca City (Phase 6): + 16 Facilities
7D -> 17.33% chance of completion ,
10D-> 93.47% chance of completion

[] Expand into Timira City (Phase 4):
7D -> 90.03% chance of completion, +8 Facilities

My own thoughts: if the war is going to start early because of this roll as some in the thread fear. , we NEED to start on defences soon, if only to shoot down intruders. Here are the current odds of a crash build:

[] Planetary Defence Network (Phase 2)
3d -> 76.67% chance of completion of Phase 2
7d -> 95.5% chance of completing Phase 2 & 3.

As you can see, it's probably better to throw 7D rather than 3D if you want to get up the Defence Network phases quickly, but we probably need multiple turns to build something like Golans over Kamino.

Industry

[] Develop Kaminoan Shipyards (Phase 10), 608 Progress Needed.
9d -> 99.9% chance of Completion

Cloning

[] Expand Clone Production (Phase 12), 231 Progress needed
1d will have a max of 125 progress, 2d a max of 250 progress

[ ] Cloning Operations (Phase 11), 43 Progress needed
2d is enough to hit the next Phase of Cloning Ops
But I favor overkilling with 6d so we never have to touch this ever again.

Training

[] Construct Training Facilities (Final Phase) , 523 Progress needed,-16 Facilities
7d -> 44.79% chance of completion
4d -> 0% chance of accidental completion
[] Clone Trainers (Phase 5)
Suggest 3d on this, get progress started.

Research (7 Die)

I'd suggest we prioritize Force Resistance against Mind tricks if the Jedi are coming.

[] Force Resistance: 7d
Will not complete, but max of 980 Progress and min of 284.

Administration

Gunships over Acclamators, I want to prepare for our next Plan goals first, by focusing on the one type of starship we really lack.
[] Expand LAAT/c Gunship Contract (Phase 1): 2d
[] Expand LAAT/c Gunship Contract (Phase 1) : 2d
[] Burying Secrets: 3d
-> 98.16% chance of -5 exposure.

No? I'm saying the Sith are getting busy so even if they want to pay attention they won't be able to do so closely.

And I am saying wait a turn so that during the time that they are supposed to be coming in to check on our progress they wont see anything being worked on that might be interesting or objectionable. 1 turn and they should be focused on their stuff.

Infrastructure 7D+3FD
-[X] Expand into Tipoca City (Phase 6): 7D +3FD 150R
Industry 9D
-[X] Develop Kaminoan Shipyards (Phase 10): 9D 270R
Cloning 7D
-[X] Expand Clone Production (Phase 12): 1D 15R
-[X] Cloning Operations (Phase 11): 6D 60R
Training 7D
-[X] Construct Training Facilities (Final Phase): 4D 60R

Research 7D
-[X] Force Resistance: 7D 245R
Administration 7D
-[X] Expand LAAT/i Gunship Contract (Phase 1): 2D 10R
-[X] Expand LAAT/c Gunship Contract (Phase 1) : 2D 10R
-[X] Burying Secrets: 3D

Justifications:

Infrastructure:

If we are going to build defences, we still need more infrastructure especially if we are planning on completing the final phase of Training Facilities. At 7D, Tipoca City Phase 6 is only at 17.33% chance of completion, at 10D, the odds climb to 93.47%, this is why I've pushed all 3FD on infrastructure again. I've done the Math if the thread desires to pivot to defences now in my previous post, but I think we still probably need more infrastructure. This is also political since 40% of the thread voted to push for the final phase of Training Facilities last turn, and we have no way of supporting this right now.

I also want to know what's beyond Phase 6 of Tipoca City, because it's crucial for knowing how many facilities we can acquire for the next plan.

Industry:

We continue down the Super Capital plan. Our ASC rolls failing so badly means we probably have to look to producing a Supercarrier design since the Venator is a mediocre carrier.

Cloning:
I am throwing 6D to Clone operations so our Operation phase expansions for the next 2 or more phases will automatically activate upon unlock.

Training:
Split between getting Training Facilities close but not over the line to final phase in case the next plan require us to get Phase 12 Clone Production earlier, and expanding our Clone Trainer program.

Research:
The Jedi are knocking around, the Sith are getting antsy, and some in the thread have brought up the possibility the Nightsisters might get involved because of Force Vision. Force Resistance for our clones might be a good idea, especially against Jedi Mindtricks, especially since our chances on 7D on completing any of our less expensive research is quite low.

Admin:
We don't have many gunships. Our next plan probably will demand a lot more Gunships. Let's get started since we already have so many Capitals.

Galaar'kyramud? I'm... this isn't a problem in the least, not in my book. Its a hard counter to the utterly obscene numbers of Vultures and other droid-craft that we are going to be seeing and should either be playing escort duty to heavier ships that are likely to be swamped or acting as a heavier core for fighter wolfpacks. If we are using it against a capital ship the battle is probably lost anyway.

The Separatists were a little bit slow on fielding capitals for the first year of the war in any case, leaning on retrofitted Lucrehulks (who were glorified carriers and thus exactly what we would be hard countering) until they get Recusants in decent numbers and then Bulwarks. By the point they start going capital heavy, attrition would mean most of our Galaar'kyramud will be spare parts before they become dead weight.

But... hoo boy, that trap is going to require more than just burial to make go away. We'll need fall guys.

I wonder whether Omakes should be made about how our Misdirection and Client masking efforts for our shell companies are set up. For example, the Interdictors could appear to be secretly routing to ORSF forces that are looking at Interdictor Acquisitions as part of their continued efforts to fight back the growing lawlessness in the Outer-rim. My guess is the Sith might well offer us a way to pin the blame on the Militarists within the Republic quietly rearming by drawing down on their political capital, to stash some of our cap ships in depots in pro-militarist systems like Eriadu or Malastere, but something tells me as a poison apple, some of those Interdictor purchases are also going to end up in the hands of the Separatists too.

Do you have any other Fall Guys to propose?

we should consider doing some local production next for gunships next turn, we have enough surplus production

I want to see our upcoming plan quotas and Dreadnought demands. To be honest, I want to reserve the local production for Starfighters because every single Starfighter in our lineup cost exposure.... and we are in a very, very bad exposure position right now with this very poor intrigue roll. I don't know if Ossha is going to make more intrigue rolls with equally punishing Exposure spikes, but we need to save every scrap of unnecessary exposure inducing contract expansion in the near future and divert it to local production if needed. Our Gunships being exposure free means there's very little point in locally producing LAATs, when we can churn out otherwise exposure costly Liberators because our ASC Corvette rolled so poorly, so we need tons more Starfighters to fight Drone swarms properly.

I mean... maybe we actually want to make that true? It would legitimately be in our best interests if we started preemptively gearing certain factions up outside our little pocket. We still need to be able to play white knight when the day comes but Interdictors out there on day zero would be invaluable, even in small numbers.

I may be crazy here, I'm certainly sleep deprived and so I'm only tenuously putting this forward, but I like the idea. So... lets give Tarkin a birthday present and keep it going.

Things are Better? (Canon/+10 Bonus)
Things are Better?

Darth Sidious gazed out into Coruscant's night sky accompanied by his apprentice, whatching the ships and satellites the substitued for the stars blotted out by the planet-wide city's lights.

"Garm Bel Iblis." Sidious was calm as he spoke his newest enemy's name. "How troublesome."

"Shall I dispatch an assassin?" Darth Tyranus asked blandly.

"That will be quite unnecessary. Killing Iblis and his cohorts now would only sow further interest. Better to redirect their attention... elsewhere."

Sidious's answer did not surprise Tyranus. Being a political actor himself, such was the conclusion he had reached himself, and in politics he had no doubts his master outstripped him in skill. Yet, there was a rythm to these things. He was the apprentice and as the apprentice it as much his duty to display subservience as it was to show loyalty.

"What is your plan my lord?"

"Our friend from Corellia wishes to discover where these weapons have disappeared to? Then he shall be given everything he needs to do so." Sidious's mouth broke into a toothy grin. It was not a kind expression. "We shall grant him the authority to direct the Judicial Forces as they conduct inspections of the armories and bankrolls of worlds that the Senate deem suspicious."

Tyranus chuckled. "I am certain the Galactic Senate will be thoughtful in designating which worlds are to be inspected."

"You must be prepared to woo these worlds Tyranus. Garm Bel Iblis has handed us an immense opportunity. We must not waste it."

"Of course my master," Tyranus said with a bow. "I may have something which may help further muddy the waters."

The Count of Serenno pulled from his cloak a holoprojector and clicked it on. On it appeared a young woman with shoulder length hair and dressed in rough clothes. Were it not for the lightsaber held within her hand neither man would have guessed her to be a Jedi.

"This is Jedi Knight Lorana Jinzler sending a distress call to any who would listen. My master, Jorus C'baoth has..." The woman paused, visibly struggling with the words she was about to say. "...has fallen. The colony he helped found has become a twisted reflection of the Jedi Order. A council of force users rules with he at its head. Children are taken from their parents and taught to look down upon those without the gift of the Force. Dissent is dealt with harshly. At first he had people imprisoned but when others spoke up and refused to stand down he..." The Jedi stared at her lightsaber.

Tyranus paused the message there. "She continues on to say that she is leading a resistance against C'baoth and his followers and that she hopes that anyone that hears the message will relay it to the authorities."

"Ah, Jorus." Sidious's eyes twinkled with delight "The hate he exuded after he was denied his precious Outbound Flight by the Senate and his Council was delicious. His colony succeeded then?"

"For a definition of a success as you can see from the message." Tyranus returned the holoprojector to his cloak.

"Quite. Has the message been picked up by anyone else?"

"No my lord. My agents only discovered it because they were specifically there to monitor C'baoth. The master did well in finding a world distant from prying eyes."

Sidious 'hmmed'.

"Revealing the depths to which a Jedi Master like C'baoth has fallen to the rest of the galaxy would be most advantageous," Tyranus continued. "Imagine the trust the Order would lose."

"And the division it would sow within the Jedi's own ranks." Sidious smiled at Tyranus "Well done, my apprentice. Well done indeed. This is much more than I could ever hoped for had I simply allowed the Outbound Flight to occur. At most that would led to a dozen dead Jedi, but this..." Sidious let out an echoing laugh. "This will strike at the very soul of the Jedi!"

"Then, do I have your permission to spread this message?"

"It is granted. Make certain it is heard far and wide." After a moment Sidious mused aloud, "I wonder how many Jedi will die trying to restrain their wayward master."

"C'baoth is strong with the Force. If he has indeed fallen to the Dark Side then he will be an even more formidable foe. I suspect many Jedi sent to bring him to heel will be slaughtered."

"Good. Good. What of this Lorana Jinzler, will she be a problem?"

"No, she is an average example of a Jedi Knight. She is no one of concern to us."

"Very well, you are dismissed Darth Tyranus."

Count Dooku bowed. "Yes, my lord."

There you go, an omake of our two Sith lords dealing with Garm's curveball. Whether it'll pan out in their favor is something we'll have to see.

The big change from OTL is that there was no Outbound Flight here. Thanks to the push to increase funding for the Judicials I mentioned in Satine and Siri's omake the Outbound Flight got the axe and when Palpatine saw how that was pushing C'baoth over to the other side he decided to only have the Jedi Master trailed rather than killed when C'baoth settled for creating a colony in the Outer Rim.
