[X] [Medea]

This Chapter Was Rough. For pretty much everyone but especially Rin and Shirou.
But now there's nothing else to do but move forward. I'm eager to see what kind of person Shirou is going to become admittedly. Though I'm sure there's only going to be more heartbreak for him.

The goal is to not be Kiritsugu.

It was...the best outcome we could have actually hoped for...seeing It was us against someone as BS as BB, and her having Taiga hostage

...doesn't make It less painful...but Shirou kept his word to Raiga

He would save Taiga

[X] [Ayako]

We need More Ayako scenes, specially now that Rin's death Is something that will hit both of them Badly

They can/must mourn her together

They need to cry and hold each other, to let their grief out.

And even without a body, I can see Shirou making a shrine or something similar to honour Rin

He tried. He really did. Now Is time to make peace with this outcome

a shadowy figure darts out of Fujimaru's hand to take a swipe at BB. The figure is indistinct, but female, and is seemingly fighting with their fists.
Thank you for this. Both the Ruler karma? catharsis? what's the right word here....., and also showing Guda fighting.
only for BB to be forced to take a step to the side as another shadow goes tearing by her, narrowly missing. This one is masculine and tall, with giant… wheels in each hand.
...Asvwahattaman? (I'm so sorry for the misspelling, it's one of the ones I can never get right). he only has one wheel though, right? I can't think of any Rulers who use wheels. I dunno how Ruler Moriarty fights but I don't think he (or, really any of the Rulers) would be described specifically as masculine and tall. So, assuming this is Hot Wheels, do we dare make the assumption that this means Ritsuka has gone through Lostbelts 3, 4, and Ooku? (the uh nemo/gogh one is between lb4 and atlantis so I'm not gonna take any chances there).

BB jerks out of the way of another shadowy figure, this one a woman in a veil with an odd, foursided blade.
.......Rider Martha?
She may look like Ishtar but she's nowhere near that useful.
Wait, BB finds Ishtar useful? huh
But regardless, I'm going back now, I got what I wanted
.....back. To Chaldea. Uh-huh. Good luck with that, and also good luck with surviving the next few weeks at Chaldea. But also.......why was this what you wanted???????
you turn your head slightly to see Mordred staring down Rin's servant… the black swordswoman was caked in blood, dust, and drywall. She was also transparent, and rapidly becoming more transparent with each passing second. She turned her head to look at you, but whether your eyes met you can't say. That mask shows nothing, and it was the last thing to go before she was completely gone.
I dunno how good Touko is, but there's no way she, Kairi, and a Medea-less Kuzuki were beating Salter, right?
"Master!" Mash calls out. "Communication is back open with Chaldea!"
!!! This is a genuinely good development (even though the scale of how good a development it is is likely to be lost on Shirou, between future-talk and all the emotional processing that comes next). I guess I shouldn't be surprised that BB was blocking Chaldea's comms (happened in seraph), but yet here I am just now realizing that that's likely the case.

Gotta be her, imo. Not just because she's likely in a better state of consciousness right now than Ayako.

This was a rough chapter. But....I think we're still at a point where things are salvageable. I was expecting calling in Mordred to be a bad move (possibly even a bad end). I was expecting Shirou to get maimed, or Mordred to get killed (what better way for BB to demonstrate that this is her world and we're just living in it?), or one of the others to get killed fighting Salter....et cetera, et cetera. But none of that happened, and we can get a read on the situation from the analysts of the future--and they're going to be needed once Sauron starts being a part of the bigger picture.

Welcome!

Yeah it's angry Indian wheel boy. For some reason I forgot he only has one.
.......Rider Martha?
Altera.

Wait, BB finds Ishtar useful? huh
Powerful at least

Fate Extra BB *loathes* Rin.

Touko is literally one of the most dangerous beings in the entire setting. Shes one of the most single most powerful magus on the planet. It wouldn't last long.

Especially with a fantastic necromancer and an Assassin providing distraction. Shirou managed to defeat Saber Alter in a bad end alone. He died. But still.

Sucks About rin. She got baeber, and that was the only good thing she got in this war. But nothing about war is good in the first place, that's why it's war.

At the very least BB is going to be shaken like a baby at Chaldea by Ritsuka. I hope.

I wonder what the optimal choice would've been.

[X] [Ayako]

I feel like ayako is the better person to hear from at the moment.

[X] [Medea]

Ayaka is wonderful but... she is just so, so human.

Also while Rin dying is sad... I kinda wish Tokiomi was like... ah ghost so he could see how badly he fucked up.

The Tosaka legacy, is 100% gone, Sakura is all that remains and she has no training in their ways and hates Magecraft.

Honestly this all went better the I expected it would. I fully expected BB to just steamroll the crew and to get a serious chewing out in the subsequent Taiga Dojo. I am by no means celebrating this near entire failure, because this whole mess was saved because BB was in it for the lulz while Shirou is struggling with the aftermath. He couldn't save anyone, not even Taiga, and now he's trying to keep it all from coming down around him.

I don't think either answer is wrong, but Ayako seems more fitting because of the argument they had earlier. Maybe seeing BB's obscene powercreep will put things into perspective for our erstwhile magical girl to try and better comprehend this absurd world of magi, but no matter what her beau needs a hug.

I'm uncertain there even was an optimal choice at this point. Maybe if we'd talked to Rin earlier, but I don't know when I would have wanted to talk to her instead of all the other issues we were dealing with.

I'm just... very confused by BB's motivations here. She saw a Singularity or whatever we are that resembled the original Fuyuki War from which the Moon Cell templated her, so she wandered down to check it out, for curiosity's sake. Okay, she has access to those records anyway, but she's whimsical.

She rewrote her own Master-Servant contract to be tied to Rin as a source of mana, then got angry that Sakura was "boring", and outwardly more like her Nurse NPC origin than the rampant BB. Okay again, she's egotistical.

Here's where things get unclear for me. Instead of doing anything about the Sakura situation, she decides to screw with Rin, persuading her that Shirou blew up her house and getting her to go to Kotomine. This is less explicable, but can still be filed under "evil whimsy" and "temper tantrum". Then she decides to screw with Shirou under the excuse of still screwing with Rin, by kidnapping Taiga and extorting him to murder Rin (an act which, we later learn, will also cut off her mana source). This I really don't get, since Rin's at least her mana source and another template she's personally familiar with; she's got even less connection to Shirou than Rin. At this point she also seemingly hates and dismisses Fujimaru, which is pretty out of nowhere. Then when Rin threatens to cut off her mana she just... self-terminates by removing her own power source? Is she expecting Fujimaru to summon her back into Chaldea, after demonstrating that she'll ditch them as a Master and try to kill them on a whim?

This seems like suicide with extra steps, apparently motivated by boredom? I don't get it, and I'm hoping renewed contact with Chaldea gives some closure.

There won't be many, if any BB scenes left. But suffice to say I tend to portray her as very malicious with anyone that isn't Hakuno. Still, yes, there'll be consequences.

As much as I love Medea, I don't think she would truly understand Shirou's grief for Rin's passing

Rin was no one but an enemy Magus to her. How could Medea help Shirou if she can't understand why her death affects him so

Remember, it was Circe who talked and comforted Shirou after he killed Shinji

Rin was Ayako's friend, on the other hand. It's going to be just as painful for her as it is for Shirou

If anything, Ayako approuching Shirou now even despite the injuries she endured against Saber or his earlier words regarding Rin would show how powerful her commitment is.
