We are well beyond words now, this 'war' as the Magus call it has grown out of control. But it isn't a war. They can hide in their workshops, they can hide in that church. I shall show them a war."
The Church? The Church where Gilgamesh is chugging an entire basement of wine?

You'll get your fucking war Raiga. You'll get it from the guy who just about invented it.

And you only have a single, solitary moment to process this, and the fact that Sakura was still unconscious and in your arms before Medea has fully taken up your frame of view.

Oh, Sakura is still unconscious, that's concerning.

Fujimaru hesitates for a moment, then nods her head. "I do."

Fujimaru does know, and I'm sure that just makes her more worried.

"Oh?" Raiga asks, tilting his head ever so slightly. "And do what, Mr. Emiya?"

Oh. Raiga isn't being fatherly to Shirou anymore. That's not good.

"Shi… Shirou, is he about to kill Rin?" Ayako asks slowly.

"Yes." You reply curtly.

"You can't let him do tha-"

"And why can't I?" you ask, snapping your head to Ayako.

Your girlfriend lurches back.

Ah, Ayako, welcome to Yakuza and Magi, it's always pleasant!

The Church? The Church where Gilgamesh is chugging an entire basement of wine?

You mean Brihannala?

[X] [Go after Rin]
You were going to get to the bottom of her actions, you were going to get Taiga back. You didn't give a damn about what Raiga wanted. To be honest, you didn't care what Rin wanted either.

I feel like these choices kinda hinging point in Shirou's mentality, going for the monster points us to Fate Shirou, completely selfless, while while going for Rin leans us towards UBW or HF Shirou, where he's a bit more greed and narrows his focus. I happen to like the more narrowly focused Shirou, so let's go save Taiga!

To be fair you haven't seen Gilgamesh once in this story.
Also in fairness, if Zero was equally a clusterfuck, we'd have gotten signs by now based on Shirou's backstory alone, much less Iliya, Sakura, and Rin.

So I'm sticking with my assessment: Raiga's going to send his people to kill all the Masters, trigger Even More Evil Gilgamesh, and the whole town's going to burn.
You mean Brihannala?
Gil came first... but technically, each culture does its own little wierd isolation-timeline-thingy in Fate until after Arthur dies and the last of the Mystery really starts going out of the world.

[X] [Go after The Monster]
You were going with your original plan, you were going to deal with that monster before more lives were lost, and you were going to end this war.

If you went after Rin, you could save Taiga, but the Monster could end up killing a lot more. If you go after the monster, you can save a lot more people, but lose Ayako, Rin, and Taiga. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

[X] [Go after Rin]

Not for Rin's sake, but for Shirou's sake. Just letting Rin die would not be good for his mental health.

[X] [Go after Rin]
Inherently Shirou is someone who wants to save the people in front of him and hypothetical people that might be in danger from a monster exist, but they don't exist as the stark reality of his sister who was definitively captured by Rin's servant. The fact there are people in front of him who would prefer him to go after Rin isn't lost on him either. The fact he also wants to save Taiga and possibly kill BB not lost him on him either.
The Monster is real and does matter but to choose it over BB and Rin is to place hypothetical people over someone he knows is definitively in danger and has a bunch of reasons to go for anyway if one of those reasons is to possibly kill Rin and prevent her and her servants from killing anyone else.

[X] [Go after The Monster]

I'm not sure the people on this thread are thinking about all the pros and cons of each decision, instead trying to keep all the potential heroines alive. I could be wrong, but this feels like Sakura and Meltlilith all over again. A choice was picked because she was a favorite, and she ended up killing Shirou and Sakura in pretty terrible ways.

For me, we have to trust that Raiga knows what he is doing. He knows about Magi and what they do, but he still believes he can take care of it, and he isn't a dumb man. It also wouldn't be good to alienate him here. He did say that if we tried to go ourselves, we wouldn't be welcome in his house, and I for one would like to avoid getting kicked out of his house.

And he is right-the Monster is a priority, not something that should be put off. Let's stick to the plan instead of running half-cocked to talk to Rin and help Taiga, when we don't even know how to do so.

Also yes, I did enjoy the chapter.

Let Rin due we have the superior Rin. Where's Effect at, we need superior Rin here.

The only reason to get Rin is the DMG to the mcs mind and how that'd effect his relationship with Ayako. The flip side of this will effect the relationship with Taiga if he's kicked and probably his mind if the monster kills.

I also think this might set his philosophy. Does he sacrifice for the whole or stick to his morals of avoiding killing.

What stops him from splitting the party? One or two servants with him should be good enough to confront Rin.

Edit: What's the Odds that's really Sakura and not BB either switched or on her body?

I'm pretty sure she was picked because people in the thread thought she was the more actively dangerous one and that Taiga could probably handle talking down Passionlip, the former is what I gather from thread discussion, the latter is mostly supposition

Low, I doubt Sakura would have just given an address rather than pounding at the screen of the phone or the like. Plus, BB is sadistic and stacks the deck so far in her favor she might as well be the house, but if I understand her right, she's not one to go out of her way to negate a victory, however small so long as the game keeps being played
running half-cocked to talk to Rin and help Taiga,

There's nothing in the description of the vote that said we'd necessarily be talking to Rin, in fact it kind of implied the opposite

Rin triggered this bad end on her own. It's not worth doing wrong by Raiga, by many Innocents, to save one foolish magus from the consequences of her poor choice in allies and enemies. Sometimes you have to let a cup fall and break to save a stack of plates.

There is literally no chance Raiga's men are actually going to be able to kill Rin mostly because of Rin is guarded by a dragon with precognition and a laser sword that's if they don't end up getting bombarded to death by the Indian demigod there is no chance they're doing anything to Rin other than get his sister killed. They will have to go to the church because that's where she is and the church is where Kotomine the man who could probably kill all of them anyway and sup upon their tears of anguish at their failure anyway. Never mind the fact that Rin herself is capable of fighting she's capable of launching hundreds of spells instantaneously (Gandr) all of which are strong enough to crack Stone.
It's not like they're going to catch her off guard wards and formal craft exists and Lord knows she's not going to have a guard down.

I will point out the address given is not the church. It's downtown.
That is my bad thank you for the correction. I don't see how that really changes the calculus cuz that just means the area is even more crowded and way more dangerous for them because Narrow Street ways and Gandr barrages are bad for people without magic resistance versus a dragon with a laser sword. That just seems to increase the collateral damage both civilian and otherwise though they will not have to deal with Exorcist that could definitely kill all of them and drink their tears of frustration and anguish. Never mind that the Tohsaka Manor definitely has protective wards to warn Rin of people approaching with malicious intent.

I will point out Rin isn't living in the Tohsaka manor due to Mordred flattening it.

For Taiga.

We Will hear Rin out, and maybe save her from Raiga, but we are going to save Taiga Nee-san

...and very likely try to kill BB. She just messed with Shirou in a Very personal way...
