"No, we are not." Medea hisses. "I can feel our link master, you have almost no mana left of any kind. You have a Berserker you cannot control, and you have a gaping wound that was only recently closed."

"Does it matter?" you ask, genuinely. "I'm constantly getting hurt, but people are dying. The faster we move, the faster we solve this, the less people have to suffer due to the actions of magic."

I think Medea is getting a grasp of Shirou's personality here, that lack of self-worth.

"At least he's thinking about doing something, instead of just mocking all the ide-" Ayako begins, but her jaw clicks shut as Caster turns to look at her. Caster stares at her for several moments, saying nothing even as Ruby wiggles in Ayako's grip.

Not even any magic involved, just pure solid "Done with this" energy.

Caster smiles, then, placing her hands on eitherside of your cheeks… she kisses you. You feel a tingle of your mana being drained, but only slightly. It's a chaste thing, and she pulls away a moment later with a light blush on her cheeks. Then, turning away, she raises her hood up once more.

D'aww, she's down bad.

"Oh," Circe replies dully. "Well, if you're upset about the kissing then I'm afraid I have bad news for you."

Circe, Circe. I'm almost positive there was a better time for this.

You and Ayako both look down at the stick, staring at it. Then you wrench your gaze away. "... Tantric ritual, I'll explain later. We don't have time for this."

"Oh you better," Ayako growls. "You've been my boyfriend for a week."

You weren't sure what scared you more, her, or that monster. But at the moment, Ayako looked absolutely furious. Far, far more than you had ever seen her before.

Shirou, Ayako needs loving and attention.

Rider turns to look out west, deeper into the forest. "Another servant has been about, hiding themselves… but not enough that it is beyond notice. Prodding, looking for ways around the castle."

Hm, I mean, if it was Assassin, I kinda doubt she'd be noticed. Archer wouldn't need to, Mordred would have been obvious. Riastrad Cu would have been MORE obvious. Saber in Alter mode would consider it beneath her. So... Brihannala sniffing around Ilya? That's not a good sign.

Circe smiles, then says… something in Greek.

Medea looks confused, Rider bristles. The chain creaks in her hand, the metal squealing from how tight Rider is gripping it. Then she leaps down onto the ground. She ignores you, she ignores everyone barring Circe. She stares at the witch, Circe grinning from ear to ear like a cat as she matches 'gazes' with Rider.

"You are…" Rider says wistfully.

"Indeed," Circe says, eyes twinkling. "Now, might he speak to your master? Or shall we remain in this cold."

Circe, what did you do in that millennium between the Odyssey and the tale of Medusa? Are... are you related to Medusa?

"Shirou!" Illya's voice shouted in glee just about a second after the door to the foyer opened, and you found Illya wrapped around your midsection a moment later, her head pressed against your stomach. She looked up at you a second later, beaming. "You came to visit! I was going to come by tonight for dinner."

Happy Ilya is always fun! She's a good little big sister!

Now the votes:

[] [We need to lure this monster out of the city.]
Somewhere we can fight it without collateral damage, then, we unleash everything. Of course, then it has freedom of movement as well.

This seems like the right and proper Shirou option. Save as many people as possible.

[] [We find its master.]
Something, or someone called it. A servant cannot survive without their master. Whether spirit liner or mere familiar.

I uh. I don't think we want to walk into Kirei with both Riastrad Cu and Brihannala hanging around is going to be a particularly survivable affair.

[] [We hunt it.]
This time, we ambush it. Wherever we find it.
This one seems like the anti-Shirou option, we aren't on the Mind of Steel route I don't think.

Shirou brain engage!

[X] [We need to lure this monster out of the city.]

The problem isn't the most efficient way to win but the way to win without compromising Shirou's morals.

Thanks for the chapter. Chill Sakura chill, Medea means well for Shirou even if she is a bit mean about it. And maybe a tantric ritual with Ayako and Ruby?

Yeah fighting Cu is a fools errant, the thing is just too strong, we don't have the firepower to put it down safely and whoever is commanding him must have access to a lot of mana. So better nip that in the bud.

You weren't sure what scared you more, her, or that monster. But at the moment, Ayako looked absolutely furious. Far, far more than you had ever seen her before.

Circe, please, we need your help here.
Wait, actually. Maybe don't. That conversation is gonna be awkward as all hell.

"Does he need more than that you… you miserable woman!?" Sakura shrieks.

All heads as one turn to Sakura, including her own servant.

Jazz music stops.
Ayako: Wow, I didn't knew you had it in ya.

Circe smiles, then says… something in Greek.

Judging by Medusa's reaction, that must have been important. No idea why.

Circe, what did you do in that millennium between the Odyssey and the tale of Medusa? Are... are you related to Medusa?
Cousins, actually. The Medusa siblings are the children of the Primordial Sea Gods Phorcys and Ceto. The Medusa's grandparents were thus Pontus and Gaia. Circe's mother Perse and Father Helios are the children of Oceanus, Tethys, Hyperiod, and Theia. All children of Gaia.

Greek God dysfunction makes more sense when you realize how much of their family started from incest.

A lot of the problems of Greek myths would have be easily avoided if the Gods were allowed to mate between pantheons.

A lot to love from this chapter

Medea showing how much she actually cares/Loves Shirou was just great

Sakura showing her spine was also great, and I Really hope we get some calm moment with her

Same with Ayako...and Taiga....so many girls....

You see Shirou, whenever a girls gets riled up by something you are doing/about to do, It means they Really really Love you...or really Hate your guys

....don't worry, all your girls love you. Even if they want to kill you for being stupid

[X] [We find its master.]

This one Is the only one that would work, except that we have No idea who could be

Because If it's Kirei, dealing with Brihannala and Warp Cu Is NOT going to be a fun Time even with Medusa

But if not him, who Is...

[X] [We find its master.]

Really nice chapter.

I'm assuming that Ayako and Shirou are going to have a conversation at some point. I guess she might need to realize that if she does love him in more than a high school crush sort of way - something she herself might not be certain of yet - then she's going to have to love him for all he is, including this part of him that will do anything and I mean anything to help someone in need.

sees title uh oh
Did I ever say that?
O-O
"Now Circe dear, the way to a man's heart is not to insult his ideals," Circe says.
Typo or misspelling or whatever it's called when you want to say one word but say something different but closely related (hate it when that happens)
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH LETS GO MEDEAAAAAA her time has come
I learned a new word today!

Welp, Circe's got her work cut out for her. Weaning Medea into polyamory's one thing, but now you gotta add Ayako, Sakura, and possibly Taiga to the chore list
Speaking of, taking bets on which of Medea, Sakura, Taiga, or Ayakao is going to absolutely murder Shirou in the next 24 hours

"At least he's thinking about doing something, instead of just mocking all the ide-" Ayako begins
Truly, Shirou surrounds himself with morons idiots likeminded individuals :V
"Oh," Circe replies dully. "Well, if you're upset about the kissing then I'm afraid I have bad news for you."

Ayako stares at the witch, saying nothing for several moments. Then she looks towards you. "Shirou? Mind explaining?"
Ah, Shirou ga shinda. Sorrowful nods
"Indeed, Shirou, explain why you've been cheating on me with other women." Ruby says.
…we sure BB hasn't infected the weebstick with something?

[x] [We hunt it.]

Roll for initiative!

[X] [We find its master.]
Being able to sarcastically joke about how easy this is going to be, is going to be infinitely easier than finding and killing them, no doubt.

[X] [We need to lure this monster out of the city.]
then she's going to have to love him for all he is, including this part of him that will do anything and I mean anything to help someone in need.
Tbf, it's more Medea that's having issues with Shirou being self-sacrificing here. Ayako seems to be all in on protecting the innocent as well, which I figure is currently overriding any thoughts of "oh god, Shirou what are you doing".

Then she blinks owlishly, looking at the group. "What… is going on?" she asks, then fixates pointedly on Ayako, her head tilting even as Ayako hurriedly looks away. "Shirou… who is that?"
That, Illya dear, is your future sister-in-law. Assuming the three of you live through the next like, two weeks. That's very up in the air at the moment.

Fun chapter. As a reader, that is. Shirou is having a decidedly unfun time.

[X] [We find its master.]

Best to cut the head off the snake.
