Quite a swing from last time. What changed?

we proved Shirou won't fold like a cheap suit, instead he folds like one of his dad's old suits!

I don't remember if I was here for the last vote, but for me it's sheer practicality carrying the day. Like dang, woman needs an arm. And while she definitely can get it other ways as she said, I dunno. I got a bad feeling about that.

That said, I'm not totally sure about this. She says she loves Shirou, but she threw that out pretty casually, but she's also old as fuck...

Just uncertain. If someone can make a decent argument not to, possibly involving Medea, I'll probably change my vote.

Also thanks for the update! Was fun.

I know it won't do anything to Ayako's standing, but the reason I'm hesitant is because I don't know what it'll do with Medea's standing instead. And that's not counting on how Sakura will take it. But if we don't then Circe may try something that'd be risky to heal herself, and I really do doubt Shirou would be willing to stand aside while someone he cares about is suffering.

Clench up kids. We're going on a ride.

"Fujimaru, I couldn't say," Circe continues. "In time, perhaps. But wouldn't want me to at the moment."
Possibly a missing pronoun? Could very well be a clipped manner of speech.

"Did you prefer me as you first saw me?" Circe asks.
You mean, as a dream? Perhaps.
"What… about Ayako?"

Circe arches a brow. "What about her? Your life is far from normal Shirou, and if you break my dear Medea's heart I will do far worse than turn you into a piglet." The threat was clear as day in her voice, then she smiles.
This is one of the reasons I prefer keeping our romantic interests rooted on this side of reality. I'd like not getting poisoned or turned into an animal as is the Greek tradition for break-ups, and not-even-veiled threats do little to dissuade me.

Also, it's not Medea's feelings I am concerned about, it's Ayako's. When it's Medea, Circe threatens a fate worse than death, but when it's Ayako, she offers no more than 'she'll have to deal'. That's not quite fair, is it?
And at a certain point a woman just needs to hear a yes or no, piglet. No waiting to ask a friend, or trying to phrase rejection in pretty terms. So. What do you say?
Ah. For a moment there, I thought you just didn't want to listen.

The Author's note explicitly said that this does not detrimentally affect our relationship with Ayako.

Note that it didn't say anything about how it affects our relationship with Medea...

Ah, fuck it. Bird time it is.

To me it's the principle of the matter, it just feels bad to do to someone. Like it's not like she was consulted beforehand about this first, she's just getting sidelined in her own relationship. We're effectively cheating on her here, even if it's for a good reason.

There's a thought. What do Ayako and Sakura think of each other? I'm not sure they've interacted all that much in school?

Ayako is the president of the archery club and Sakura is a member. In timelines where Sakura gets away from her abusive family situation and blossoms into a happier person she takes over the club as Ayako's successor next year. All of which is to say that they know each other well and Ayako is a senpai Sakura looks up to

I am a living being, not a spirit. Hence why I wished to speak to you, there are… other ways of obtaining mana.
"Speak up, though. It's hard to hear you over the constant sound of the Earth trying to erase my existence."
"Oh, is that why you guys need mana?"
"Yeah, that's how that works."

After a fashion, in a manner that would be hard to explain.
Gotta love when time gets wonky.

Clearly in the minority here, but

When, not if when, people find out there's going to be a lot of explaining to do. It's not even like Circe can get away with saying that it's purely practical. Medea probably won't take it particularly well, who knows what Sakura will think but I doubt it will be good, Ayako would rightfully be livid and heartbroken.

I'm not suggesting that Circe should just be left to deal with it on her own, nor should she have to resort to just sleeping with a rando, or like murdering someone for their mana (I admittedly have no idea if all Servants can potentially do that or if it's strictly ones like Medusa and a handful of others). But this is a bit, sudden.

This... feels more like a gut feeling kind of choice tbh. There are a good few practical reasons I could give, but this just feels like the right choice regardless of any of that.
Gut feelings are Shirou's modus operandi.
...thats Circe speak for 'whats wrong with multiple partners?'

the nonchalance of the delivery is great

... right some vitamin D it is then! : P

I mean even without the arm situation I'd be down

now waiting for Medea to walk in and Circe to be like 'would you like to join?'
Thanks for the quote!

Ah, the age of man, I forgot how detrimental it was to everything and everyone that isn't a normal human
And vampires, oni, bug people...
Chances of a Medea interrupt? :V
Little.

The more power the Grand Witch has to rely on, the better. She's been nothing but good to us so far.
Circe is a good girl.

Let's Go!

And NO way Medea wont't, at minimum, know what her dear Auntie Is doing with her Master (and boyfriend?)

Just don't drain Shirou too much Circe. Shirou needs to be up when Archer comes kicking His ass for ignoring his wonderful Kouhai (and potential Wife)
Peeps want the Sakura route?

Saw the title, went "but there's no Kie no Omoi?" and then scrolled down.
Second best Fate song.

Circe: I assure you Shirou, having sex with me is instrumental to becoming a hero of justice
It'd work.

Welcome. And Circe is old and has no time to brat around the bush.

Circe did tell Medea she was gonna move on him.

It's a valid opinion, and turning her down doesn't ruin anything. But please know I have a plan and am not fucking over Ayako here.

... She's gonna be very busy soon.

Thank you all for reading!
