You have chosen to get lessons from an Age of Gods witch, after another opened your circuits.

Somewhere a kid going through his textbook at the Clocktower is very angry and he doesn't know why.

We have also chosen to go around the back of the Witch of Betrayal, whose entire legend is that she falls in love with people who then betray her. Looks like we got the order backwards, we've done so literally the update after we met her! :V

You all have opted to lie to Medea. You monsters.

Hm. Can't be Lord El Melloi II, he's a teacher now. Kirschtaria Wodime is at this point a Chairman under Animusphere. Daybit got expelled. Caules Forvedge's position in a conventional timeline is a bit awkward but a possibility. Faldeus Dioland is a century-old Deep State spook. Horus Orth is literally an assassin for the Saudi King. Org Rum is just a background bookworm. Roland Berzinsky is too busy being Yandere for Waver. Fezgram vor Sembren is both a professor and Waver's student. Svin Glascheit probably doesn't qualify since his whole thing is embracing his Beast Magecraft until he loses all humanity.

If I had to guess, this might be referring to Flat Escardos. On the surface, he would normally be the shoe-in. He takes a shine to everything, loves learning more from other people, and is curious to the point of bluntness and stupidity. But he's kinda got points against it. The boy's disconnected from anything resembling sanity. He's like Shirou in that his mental problems are the manifestation of his superpower, which includes that Flat can't actually be taught. He just does things because he wants to get to/learn about/see more of a thing, then has no idea how he did it afterwards. He really wants to see the Holy Grail War, but he'd get basically nothing out of Circe.

Look, this is a classic test of a Greek Heroism trait: Cunning. The ability to bullshit your way out of a situation and maneuver the enemy into their own defeat. If we can't deliver Medea a satisfying amount of information without breaking the promise to Circe, we're a bad student.

So Shirou is fucked.

and also that was just supposed to be a generic student. :p

He'll probably need it in the coming days ahead.
Shirou is not a cunning boy.
Shirou said he wouldn't tell her, he didn't say she wouldn't figure it out. Shirou has the subtlety of a hoard of Nobu's and the self restraint of a toddler. If he makes it half a day before openly displaying ancient magecraft he has no way of possibly figuring out on his own in front of Medea, it would be a miracle.
His dad was a really bad teacher to the point he accidentally stumbled his way into true magic.

Technically shitou filled in the blanks for projection using his bow steps due to thinking it was incomplete since it wasn't working.

He is somewhat cunning just not informed. He'll likely just think what he's doing isn't special since he has no context just like tracing.

Edit: He isn't dense for example, he just plays dumb. He can plan but he will fight even if there isn't a chance of victory.

Shirou is more of an action guy, as in, somethings happening and I have no Idea what I'm doing, but doing something is always better than feeling helpless so Leroy Jenkins style here I go.

I was joking, I don't write Shirou as an idiot, just a blunt motherfucker.

He's really not cunning. What your describing is innovation. The act of coming up with something new. Shirou didn't have some riddler style brilliant deduction where he figures out precisely what he needs to do to get his variation of projection to work, he just kept trying out new things until he "Stumbled his way into true magic". It's an accomplishment, but there is nothing particularly clever about it's execution.

I know, but you can't deny that shirou does tend to just blindly insert himself into a situation from a position of relative ignorance, with the objective of helping people, but the motivation of not feeling helplessness like he did during the fuyuki fire.

I actually read a fic where that was literally the basis of the plot it was comedy more than anything else and a decent time

I'm genuinely curious on how this whole lessons with Circe is gonna go and what he might learn that can be applied/used in the next few weeks besides improving his basics maybe there will be elements of time dilation? (For the training not personal use though I guess it isn't out of the question) Or maybe not who knows doubt he'll be a prodigy though

Next chapter up this evening, it's a shorter one, real short even, but it's the last setup chapter for a fair while. Sorry about that, I tried to have it done before the regular two weeks to make up for that, plus there is a sidestory coming.
