Gotcha.

And the game you mentioned it wouldn't happen to be Digimon World Data Squad would it. A fun Ps2 game.

Never beat it though the prick Lucemon cheated by transforming!
Sadly I haven't been able to play that many digimon games. Honestly the one I'm most familiar with is digimon world 4, and that's held to be the very worst one. Though I was able to watch some streams with a couple of the more recent games such as cyber sleuth and next world order..
To be fair, Lucemon in general is a cheating whore. As who ever heard of a rookie that starts off at mega level and just goes up from there?
Mhmm. Lucemon is complete bullshit, his falldown mode in particular is above basically everything but Susanoomon.

I'm not counting Xros Wars or the events therein.

===

Anyway I'll be doing a vote tally to see where we're at right now.

Though I have to admit, bit surprised that no one mentioned the quote line at all or what it might mean.

I'm really curious on what Verge will digivolve into. With Drimogemon being set to rookie that leaves him with unknown options on what he'll turn into for the champion level. Maybe something from the Nature Spirit ach type.

Or it might act a bit like Digimon Synthetic and have a inner element like fire to leave the NS family due to wrath.

The best I can come up with is past life bleed over which has been established already.

I have to admit, one of the side benefits of the whole rookie Drimogemon thing is that figuring out the potential evolutions for him (besides the champion version of Drimogemon and Digimon) can be difficult. Depending on how things play out I may be able to surprise pretty much everyone with what happens.

Maybe.

We'll see. :D

Kek well yeah of course. But I was kind of Hoping people might start thinking that this is a different type of past life bleed over. :p

Oh yeah just remembered back in Data Squad episode 4 theres a Drimogemon who was able to slide-digivolve into Digmon.

Still have no idea how that worked or if it even applies here, but hey more you know right.

2nd Day of Darkness: Sparring & New Arrivals
As it turns out "training" proves to be something else completely different than the relaxing rest you had just a few minutes before. Your friend mentions that it's important for you to gain some sort of fighting skill, if you're going to be helping him become renown a hero. After all it will mean doing dangerous things and he doesn't want you getting hurt simply because you don't know how to fight back.

Flamemon tells you to try and attack him so that the two of you can *spar* and thus raise your skill. Your attempts to refuse are batted aside as the older digimon insists that you try and hit him.

So tentatively you rear up on your hind legs, and start carefully swinging at him with your front paws.

The *fight* (if one could even call it one) lasts for a long time, though it mainly consists of Flamemon effortlessly dodging or blocking your attacks before shouting out advice of how to do it better.

Naturally the first instruction is to open your eyes, something that you initially struggle with but eventually manage to accomplish. From there it's more simple things like putting your weight behind attacks instead of standing still, keeping your balance, and attempting measures strikes with your claws instead of just swinging wildly.

Surprisingly, once you start being able to put some weight behind each blow Flamemon starts having to put some effort into blocking the strikes. While the older digimon is actually stronger then you (and by a noticeable amount as well) you're actually heavier and thus strike harder with your occasional swipes.

You manage to get some of his advice down during the hour of practice, but by the time you collapse at the end it's clear that there's still a lot of work to be done before you're truly proficient in combat. Flamemon chooses that moment to rest as well, though he's significantly less worn out when compared to you.

"Right!" Flamemon shouts, shakily clambering back up onto his feet. "We better head back to the village Verge, wouldn't want to missi lunch!" On cue your stomach let's out an embarrassingly large growl, practically begging for food.

You struggle back to your feet only to swiftly let out a groan of pain. The light wounds from your earlier "fight" are still throbbing, but they mean little in comparison to the burning sensation within your muscles.

Together you travel back towards the village, though at a much slower pace than when you'd first made your way out to the hill. Your only detour is stopping by a small stream as to allow you to wash the sweat out of your fur. While the ankle-deep water is cold you're willing to endure it simply so Gnaw or Fu won't mock you over your scent.

Luckily Flamemon is able quickly to dry you off afterwords as you continue the journey home. During the final stretch of the trip back you worryingly glance at the sun every now and then. It hangs high in the sky, having passed its peak perhaps an hour ago, but still shining strongly through the land,

For a moment you remember the last night, when the strange creature had tried to take the two of you just outside the village. You briefly shiver In fear, imagining what might happen if you run into the mon again.

H-he might get me and then....

Well that certainly wouldn't lead to anything good.

Upon arriving back at the gate you're once again met by Gramps, standing within, some sort of fire held in his hands.

"Flamemon" The Elecmon grumbles, with a shake of his head. "Spirits above, I heard what happened from Gnaw and Fu, why in the name of the sacred ten would you head out like that?"

In response Flamemon gives an uncaring shrug, not willing to answer the older rookie. Gramps eyes narrow into a glare at your silent friend, then lets loose a pained sigh.

"Irresponsible little...listen, you left Gnaw to carry the ingredients back with Fu. Which means the Lumber has to be moved later. " The scarred digimon grumbles. Now we're behind schedule. Don't do it again" Gramps growls. The fire in his hands squirms causing him to grit his teeth in pain.

"W-what's that?" You question eyeing the blaze warily, then jump back In fright as it spins around and grins mischievously towards you.

"This" Gramps murmurs, looking towards your friend. "Is Flamemons new ward. Demi-Meramon, this little one hatched this morning after you left. "

W-what?

"What?!" Flamemon exclaims. "But Gramps! I just had one! You didn't make Gnaw-"

"This is not about him" The scarred Elecmon cuts him off. "You've been more careless ever since Verge digivovled." Gramps tosses the In-Training digimon in his paws towards Flamemon, who quickly leaps forward to catch the slowly falling mon. "He's hot, so you'll be able to take care of this one best."

"B-but, I have to train to become a hero!"

"Ye-yeah, Flamemon has t-" Gramps turns his head slightly just enough to give you an annoyed glare. You shrink back and close your moth,

"Now, come with me Flamemon, I'll teach you how to care for Demi-Meramon properly. Verge, there's a new merchant here in the village go talk to him, it'll do you good"

A moment later the two rookies walk off, heading deeper inside the village to where Flamemons hut resides.

Pulses of some unknown feeling burn in your chest, as you watch Flamemon carry the Demi-Mermaon in his hands. It's not anger like from before but....it's not a pleasant feeling nonetheless. I'm the end you simply shake your head, and try not to think about it.

The 'new' digimon Elecmon spoke of proves to have set up camp (literally) near the fire pit. A small tent rests near the villages rear wall, with a number of very large bags near it. The mon himself is patiently sitting in front of his shelter, silently waiting for some reason.

Once again your stomach lets out a pitiful (if very noisy) rumble and you're reminded indeed that you've yet to eat lunch. From the looks of things Gramps had cooked another stew, and you certainly are hungry.

So with a slow, wary pace you approach the pot, being careful to watch the white humanoid digimon in case he makes a move. He doesn't seem to notice you approach, and doesn't move as you begin loading up a bowl. It's only as you down your third serving that the mon reacts leaping up to his feet and thrusting his arms overhead.

"Greeting new customer! Ah am Sorcerymon! Mer'chant extraordinaire" Suddenly small flakes of ice begin falling from overhead, dazzling light sprays over the area, but most of all highlights the *Sorcerymons* own figure.

S-scary

When it finally dies down, the mon does not find you in awe like he probably expected. Instead he freezes in place upon spotting you laying against the ground front paws covering your eyes.

You hear a sad sigh, and curiously peek out through the digits in your right hand. Much to your surprise the formerly posing mon is now slumping sadly his body hunched and arms hanging low.

A few seconds pass as he turns away, and begins ruffling through a small bag.

"Now don't worry there young feller. Ah've got something here that'll cheer yer right up" With that he pulls out:

(Choose One)

-[] A couple of rectangular things he calls protein bars (bonus to strength, & Fortitude)
-[] A strange bottle with what looks like a purple drink inside (Bonus to Agility and endurance)

===

"Ah'm sorry, didn't mean ta startle ya'll. Here take this little thang as mah apology"

...He talks weird

Slowly you reach out to take the offered treat, leading the Sorcerymon to nod cheerily.

"Ah don't suppose that that you'd happen ta have anythang to trade? Ah heard that this place might have some..nifty little thangs.

You pause for a moment, remembering the green chunk of crystal in your hut. However you still hesitate to mention it, not quite trusting the larger digimon enough to reveal that information. This was your first time meeting with a "merchant" and despite the gift he wasn't exactly setting you at ease.

"Fine, how about this little feller. Ah'll tell a story, picked up a lot of those thangs on my travels. Then maybe y'all could tell me if anyone here somethang worth trading with?"

Choose One:
[] You shake your head, and attempt to tell him about the green crystal in your shack.

[] You tentatively agree, and the sort, and the strange mon

We a big poke-I mean Digimon and all our friends are smaller than us. We have to block for them. We can (not) run.

I'm sticking with increasing agility until it doesn't become a significant hinderance. I would also like to hear about the nearest city before anything else as it's the most likely spot for adventures and events in the near future.

Come one purple stuff, your taste just can't be beat. :p

Also, anyone worried our friendly merchant here is living on borrowed time? Since he is nice and of the wizardmon line. As those guys are just as death prone as leomon.

Yes. It's actually kind of a perfect write in for Verge actually. Great job dude.

Well it's more that it fits the whole shy aspect of things.
I'm sticking with increasing agility until it doesn't become a significant hinderance.
Well the difficult thing about keeping up agility is that the talents for the other stats unbalance things somewhat as they increase the bonus of what points are gained. Though going by the current course, he's going to start outstripping Auger in that category at some point.

Of course, doing enough agility training will eventually increase said talent.

Oh yes, something else to say. That Goblimon Verge defeated? It had a stat line as well. Not very good mind you, but it still had one.

Goblimon:
Strength: 24
Fortitude: 20
Endurance: 22
Agility: 23
Yeah, there's a reason they prefer to fight with a large group. Though it and the others were basically fresh digimon. Just they didn't happen to have good nutrition.

This one was more skilled than Verge in combat as well.
