Well, aside from being flat out stronger, they add a *dark* typing as well and leave wounds that are incredibly hard to heal from.
So that would mean the Wrath Flames special effects are Max Hp reduction damage correct?

And that's why Ophanimon is stuck on a golden throne type chair aside from the damage being inflicted on her core, so does that mean any hits from Verge's Jūoudaken would be incredibly useful in a long drawn out match as any wounds inflicted by it would not heal naturally, or any situation where the enemy managed to escape.

"Excuse me." *Nom* "Sparks." You ask between bites of the *fried chicken* Mikemon had prepared for supper.

"Mrm?" The Wisemon sitting to your left grunts through a mouthful, before swallowing. "Whadya need?"

*Nom* "The spells I learnt from Scratch are...-*Crunch*- mostly obsolete. And I lack the ability to construct stronger versions." You explain before crushing the remaining bone between your teeth.

"And ya need me, yer best friend to make better versions?" He guesses, tossing his own much smaller leftovers across the table to Xia, who chomps into it with gusto.

An odd specification there. Though… I do not suppose his terminology is wrong.

"Aye. Flame Weapon Shroud is still serviceable, but the others… will have little use in the near future."

"Meh, was thinkin' of makin' better versions anyway." He shrugs swiping another piece of food from the table. "Sure, gonna take a couple days though."

"Mmf! Youf an'er upid mamfm." Your brother growls, spraying flecks of food across the table.

"We can't understand ya. Try swallowin'."

"You should fight more instead of reading books." The WarGrowlmon responds after swallowing. "Gyuhuhuha! Then maybe you'd have beaten me!"

"Our next duel will involve magic." You glare back. "And I will show you the power learned through dedicated study."

"Hmph, sure thing bro. Whatever you say." Thresh snorts at that, meeting your look head on.

"*Ahem*. My greatest apologies but I must be excused." Fonte rises from the table, empty platter in hand. "I must request a meal more suited to mine tastes."

Ah, she must mean vegetables… it doesn't look like she touched her portion of the Cockatrimon… oh spirits! That's what we've been eating?!...

*Nom*

But I am still hungry…

It turns out that you won't have to share the main floor's gym with the other Ultimates of Bulwark. Rather the 2nd *sub-floor* has a facility built specifically to accommodate large digimon like yourself and Thresh. However, whilst that means the two of you will get an entire gym to yourselves, its upsized equipment means Fonte, Sparks and surprisingly Xia are relegated to the main floor.

The pink-eyed Knightmon takes charge of your ward's training in particular, promising to "make her dad proud". Ugh. That word still hurts. At least with her taken care of, you can focus on your own workout plan.

First is morning sparring with Thresh under PileVolcamon's supervision in the designated room. While the Mega doesn't share your exact style, there's enough similarities in the *punching department* that his advice and demonstrations do assist you in gaining skill. Not that your increase in skill stops Thresh from taking your first practice bout anyways. Your brother's ability to read opponents in battle and adapt to them is almost unbelievable.

After three hours of training, you heal up, strip off your most protective sections of armor and head into the gym's autopuncher… which turns out to be a misnomer. Instead of fists, even metal ones, your body is assaulted by a myriad of Chrome Digizoid spikes... albeit dull ones. You're pretty sure it would instantly shred most Ultimates.

Following that, you heal again then strap on weights for a long run around the gym's track. Once a full three hours have passed, you switch to weight lifting, which is actually easier in a higher gravity environment like this. Smaller equipment goes a surprisingly long way when its weight is multiplied four times over.

Lastly you finish off the day with more sparring, this time with Fonte. A lot has changed since your last bout, as you actually have the advantage in terms of overall power. The Knightmon however takes her *losses* in stride, and never leaves without leaving you without at least some damage.

Before sleeping you of course do a bit of calming meditation, there's no reason not to push your esoteric abilities as well.

Come the second rotation, you spend the early morning continuing that trend, diving deep into your skill with slide evolution and spirit manipulation. It's not exactly something you can progress in quickly at his point, however with 40 days dedicated to it you'll undoubtedly make major progress.

Following that is the auto-puncher again, and then a machine called the "reflex tester"... which is basically a series of turrets with annoyingly hot lasers that you're forced to try and evade. A challenging endeavor, but your poor mane ends up being completely singed as a result.

Once your session ends, what comes next is another session of weight-lifting, before finally ending in an extended meditation session. Sparks actually visits you halfway through with the four spells he'd crafted, allowing you to start working on them. Given that there's four of them (Strength, Agility, Tandem & Fortitude) it's going to take a long while before they're all in a usable state.

You still manage to squeeze in some time here and there to check in on Xia's training and… you're both disappointed and amazed. She's far, far from say Beat's dedication to the act of gaining strength. In fact half the time you visit she's either napping or trying to *play* with one of the fort's attendants. And yet despite that attitude your ward is gaining power at what is clearly a phenomenal rate.

Meaning her raw talent surpasses even the like of Flamemon's. On the one paw you are happy for her but… a part of you is jealous that her mild dedication is able to bring her so far. As a rookie you'd trained under Scratch until you fainted… and she was easily matching if not surpassing your results.

Which in turn makes you realize that if you'd met Xia as a rookie, at least early on… you'd have been utterly terrified of her. An odd notion considering that you current reaction is to dub her *cute*.

Some… *stuff* happens with Fonte as well when you rendezvous for mutual relaxation … certain sounds are made when your chin is scratched. You'd prefer not to speak of it ever.

It does however bring up a very practical worry. Was that how Sparks started off? With something innocuous? Was the end result of his *Lap Pillow* suggestion meant to make you follow the same strange and dark path he took?

Will continuing this make you a… a… *pervert* like what Mikemon calls your friend? It's thoughts like those that keep you awake the second night.

=== Choose One:

[] Break the *relief efforts* with Fonte off. You want no part of what Sparks and his plans about this. In fact this is probably what he aimed for from the beginning! You'll use your Will to persevere!... and besides now that you're training the environment isn't nearly as stressful.

[] Mayhaps you're just being paranoid. Try and suppress those thoughts and… give into your Desire for comfort. It's just getting your head scratched and patted after all, Sparks did that for you all the time when you were a rookie.

===AN: I thought I'd try for a small comedic vote. I thought of writing an in-depth description of the event but… it felt too weird.

Good to know our daughter is ridiculously strong and has lots of potential, wonder how she'll start acting as shes digivolves. As for taking her on missions the only place I'd like to avoid taking her is that slaver city state.
Edit: switching to this

Once more us voters begin the path of being a horrible deviant influence on our charge.

It must be our culture, as we do have a famous quote for just this moment.

Huh, so Verge purrs then? That's certainly unexpected.

How difficult would it be to heal form it? We talking like it would take half a mon's spirit reserves to completely heal or?
As I understand it, its more like the damage is also a curse, you need to overpower the curse to heal it at all, so it takes someone at a higher power level than the source to treat it.
