Awww that was sad. I'm honestly surprised hes going to die of old age soon tho? You would think digivolving would help and he sure as heck has the stats for it...but maybe hes one of those forever rookies.
Also I'm surprised gnaw is the oldest. It makes sense that he was veemons ward or part of old crew, and that's why he feels the way he does.

You know, this brings up a interesting choice and one I can honestly see being a rather core for our little mole. As a fork has been laid out before him, does he keep to a promise in the past and help one try to claim his grand dream and help him stay ground or does he instead take up the mantle of parent and homemaker, to protect and care for those coming into the world and make sure they get the kind of up bringing all mon should be allowed to have?
Heck, it can even be broken into two very different quest styles to, as one leads to a quest of adventure, grand battles and personal growth through travel. While the other would lead to a clan/city builder, where our choices instead become those of the leader who needs to protect and grow his village so that he can make a safe and prosperous home for his family and friends. So that those like Gnaw, Fu, Flame and Auger could always have a place they could be welcomed.
Man, we aren't out of the prologue or even rookie state and we are going to be making massive quest changing choices here.
Going to have to really think long and hard on this one for later. Only way to make sure the choice that is coming up gets the respect it deserves.

I'm not going to lie or try to lead you on Ironforge. While the clan/city builder would make for an interesting quest, it's not really what I'm going for. What Inheritance will be about.
I'm sorry if this is disappointing and for not being able to provide what you theorized, but there's not going to be a major choice of that nature in this quest.
Inheritance was always going to be narratively heavy and follow a certain general direction. Most of the choices will be centred around how Verge develops, what paths he takes in his journey and how he effects the characters around him.

Hmm. Theoretically speaking if Verge were to assume the role of village caretaker and protector in a similar aspect to Gramps without anything huge happening?
Well it would very much be a kind of management quest. Keeping track of the various digimon helping raise them, reinforcing or discouraging certain personality traits to prevent "Evil" mon from being created in the environment. E.t.c. Would be kind of like herisnt cats for certain generations of mon.
Then there's resources, bits, merchants and dealing with other visitors.
There would be a certain combat aspect to it as feral rookies would occasionly try to delete the villages inhabitants. Occasionally there would be boss's to deal with. Feral Champions and the like potentially with the power to destroy the village.
Plus dealing with any groups interested in the area's sources.
There would also be a ton of downtime. Maybe some visits from mon who evolved and left to make their fortunes.
If Verge hadn't made that promise to Flamemon it would basically end up being his lot in life. One he'd actually enjoy quite a bit. Until eventually he either A: got deleted by a powerful enemy, or B ended up in Gramps current position.

That is the clan/management style of things. AKA what isn't happening. That would be the quest shift if Verge like stayed behind in the village and (If in that time nothing big happened) ended up taking Gramps eventual offer.

Certain events have been set in motion. There's no stopping them now. Not the players fault, I always planned for certain things to happen certain ways.
Not going to lie. Certain events are going to happen at the end of the prologue which will change quite a lot. I'm not going to spoil the specifics, but no I'm not just going to kill all off everyone but Verge for the sake of drama.

Anyone who played the digimon games knows they're on a timer, all the time. Mostly a SHORT timer at that.
Most of the long lived ones are Ultimate or Mega really.
As for digivolving, Elecmon's two evolutions are pretty heavily personality based. He's not really suited to being a Leomon.

Would have gone agility, but this seems like the most expected outcome. That said, along with foreshadowed warnings...
Sure, go army after being the best pal we can to Flamemon. Which surely may not lead to discrimination based on darkness, in a sort of Imperium of Holy Digimon. All while being the squire to Flamemon, go on epic adventures and drill break.
And totally not get involved in a holy war, a behelit like scenario with dark army interest, forced to kill our Gnaw waifu's and such.
Or go Clan head, focus on keeping every rookie alive, build incomer like a micro civ, and possibly even attempt diplomacy if the lead to avoided conflict.
(And if by chance, we were sage dice, got critical and have bartender goblinmon punks chilling on security, and being tsundere by past experiences over our "honour" in trying to avoid deleting others...)
But then, have to deal with the likely cliche village burnings, defend spawn points with Zeal, cut trade and deals for extra protection (by the Ten, or by the Quisling by holy standards.)
And if we so happen to fail in spite of trying, and get really angry because of it.
If I ever felt like writing an edge trigger omake involving wrath and brutally murdering avenging, followed by Gnaw helping with a road trip of Vengeance...
It'd be port goblinmon, vs a digital goblin slayer.

Currently sparring and accepting his offer are winning. Fortitude is relatively close to sparring with it being 5-7. I'll close the vote in say 3 or 4 hours.
So I put some thought into what Drexal said about there being some routes that can allow us to eventual reach top tier forms and what those routes could be.
The most obvious, but boring, answer is getting Gladimon as our Champion form and then eventually reaching the same type of Mega species as a Royal Knight. A much more specific offshoot of that is becoming a Gladimon who is good at magic and then eventually becoming a MedievalDukemon.
In terms of Ultimates on potential routes to top tier forms, I could see pretty much any of our Champion forms having the potential to become the same species as a Deva. There aren't many bestial Ultimates that are suited to being highly skilled at magic, but the Devas fit the bill perfectly. The particular Deva forms that are most fitting would depend greatly on which Champion form we reach. The ones that seem most appropriate though are the following:
Vikaralamon
A giant pig Digimon that mostly acts as an observer instead of a direct fighter but seems to be skilled at a wide variety of magic, including Binds, Healing, floating platform creation, and non-elemental offense. Its also the same general body type as the Champion version of Drimogemon.
Caturamon
This guy I'm mentioning because his personality fits Verge great. Acts as a big brother to some of the other Devas, has a strong sense of justice, and often acts as a mediator or judge in disputes between its allies. Furthermore, its even a canon evolution path for Gryzmon, which is one of our confirmed possibilities as a Champion form.
