This is really close to being fear-mongering. He isn't "fucking with our head" so much as triggering another past-life memory. Also, just because Verge was Vergil is hardly reason to think that remembering our past life will cause us to revert like Sparks did. Sparks had used his past life as a crutch in order to deal with the trauma. Verge did not, and has emerged stronger for it. Plus, he's still got mental protections. Remember that Knightmon manifestation when Devimon tried to mindwhammy us?
This memory may give us context not only about our past life, but about some of the different factions, and even how we "knew" the same oath as Beat and Sparks did.

We are who we are, Verge even with knowing his past life he would still be Verge a friend, a partner and a cuddle bear. Pit accepted that he was Daemon and still goes for Seraphimon so we still can do our goals.

Okay, so we know that there will be Pain, which is not an indicator of anything good whatsoever, we have literally just seen a past life take over someone's body after having been nothing but a small influence beforehand, we have an obviously Dark variant Digimon trying to initiate this and our memories are linked to Daemon, much like that previously mentioned takeover incident with Sparks.
Calling it fear-mongering, when there's several red flags and precedent that it could go wrong is dismissive to the extreme.
You say that our past life hasn't influenced us like it did Sparks? There's the massive rages we had to conquer post evo, hell we literally got out of a rage filled fugue state that we would never have seen pre Champion, just as Sparks didn't notice the influence of his past life until his own evo, that seems a lot like Sparks' bursts of Sadism in hindsight. And that's just one example.
Also, resist is our mental protections, and they won't kick in if we don't try to use them!
All I'm saying is, there is a definitive risk, one I don't think is worth it, we don't need answers, or those memories, but we do need Luna and Thresh back and our vengeance.
Frankly we should be focussing on that instead of chasing loose plot bunnies

This isn't an external force acting on Verge, this is a Name resonated with a buried memory. It's all internal, and suppressing it won't make it go away.

Baseline Shurimon wears white clothes, the only time we see Shurimon wear dark clothes is when it's an evil variant, both times were in the anime's and both times he was a villain. Meanwhile the baseline white Shurimon is light aligned and its description makes it clear it's a good guy

And again, this isn't Shurimon using dark powers on us, this is a specific query that triggered a buried memory that already existed in Verge.

Vergil is a half-demon from the series Devil May Cry. The main protagonist Dante's half brother whom cast aside relationships for the sake of power.

Okay so.
This guy is a dark variant, there are exceptions, but usually it indicates darkness.
He knows the name Daemon gave us, which implies he's Gloaming or Daemon aligned, who are usually evil.
There is apparently pain from the memory, which is usually a bad indicator, especially when triggered by someone else asking you questions about a past life where you were Gloaming aligned.
The last time a Gloaming aligned memory resurfaced in our squad we saw Sparks get possessed, I'm not saying full possession will occur, but I am wary of potential mental affects.
I am not blowing it up. I'm looking at the fact this could be a major issue, if it was any other time, where we didn't have a critical mission right on our doorstep that means so much, I would be all for it, sure we can handle whatever eventually whilst getting answers.
But I am not willing to get another load dumped on our plate when we have to focus on Luna, Thresh and Vengeance so long denied to us.
I do wonder why they are trying to make us remember tho, they hoping to get Verg back or something cause if so then it's gonna b an uphill battle.
Here's hoping past Verg didn't take that route although not sure he would have had any relationships to forsake given how he was raised.

That Purple Text has been associated with Malkimon since Dream #1. Daemon has been shown to use both White and Red Text.
This suggests to me he's connected with Malkimon, not Daemon. And this is the first time we've gotten a chance to find out about Verge's origins since we left the Village.
