Possibly but I don't know if we can find it or the funds for one before we evo so getting a Champ grade level up is a back up plan if things don't line up.

I wonder if we can get that magic rod we have upgraded or something.
Well if the pattern of Verge's fist evo is anything to go by it's likley he'll also inherit some of his Gryzmon aspects like the sense of smell.
I just hate cliffhangers in general, although if it's safe to assume if the bulwark sent someone it's most likely cause they found out something to d with the count.

It's fine, and I like how you introduced one of my favourite digimons.
Something I've been wondering about, if Verg does digivolve whilst Avalon is still broken will his gauntlets be absorbed back into his body? They are technically dead but they also made from his data and it's possible for digimon to absorb items when they digivolve if they share similar data with items in hand.

I don't see why not? The gauntlets were never a separate item, they were Form Gear that was modified by Avalon. Their special feature maybe broken but that simply leaves them as generic if in terrible condition Gryz Gear. Also I'm pretty sure the actual code for Avalon is more apart of Verge himself with his Claws and shoulder pads being more of a focus/outlet for it's abilities.
I could be wrong however, we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks! Writing him is pretty fun. I'm actually taking a little inspiration from another certain digimon quest regarding him. Not fully expy status mind you, put more of a small omage.
That is likely.
Verge inherited his low-light eyesight from his Drimogemon form and it's why he formed the metal bones as well. As for what he'll inherit from Gryzmon... well we'll see.
Maybe eventually. If Verge ever visits Flat Campus or the Beast Spirit Temple.

Aww...Oh well, back to the old fashion way.
I am just trying to think of way to improve Verg's heals outside of just straight up evolving to have more energy and maybe make it so it also helps with other magics.
I mean it's kind of a drop in the bucket at this point, Verg's bones are already metal so adding more won't do much.

Well no matter what, I hope we get to keep Verge's sweet tooth. As seeing us later as a ult or mega eating and sharing the wonders of honey to a bunch of babies under our care is just too heart warming a picture for me.

Is Verg becoming a care taker still on the table? Also if Verg is the caretaker/father figure does that mean Sparks is the cool uncle who you probably shouldn't listen to?
Yeah, I believe it is still possible for us to end up a caretaker as a end game. Since unless Verge dies or chooses not to take up the mantle gramps gave us, caretaker ending is one of the paths he would love.

Yeah, but Sparks would do it on purpose, Ardat would more or less just be a big kid sister to the brats and try to get them into magic.
Sparks would teach them stuff that is out there just because he finds it funny and try to spread his brand of thought to all the kids.

Keep in the mind the scope of what being an Ultimate or a Mega means- it means a massive food consumption. You deal with this by either controlling land you farm/range across, having resources and goods you can make and trade, or by serving an institution that can supply you in exchange for your services. Our starting village couldn't really sustain any real amount of Champions for an extended length of time, so an Ultimate/Mega Verge as a caretaker is more likely going to wind up overseeing something like Electown like MayorTyrannomon does. If perhaps more closely engaged and interacting with the various villages in it's hinterlands.

I see no issue with that.
As none of that says we can't, just that it will take a certain amount of set up and well that is going to happen no matter what we end up doing.

Oh I don't disagree that we can't, just that we're not likely going to be the caretaker of a tiny sleepy village like Gramps.
Speaking of Gramps, @drexal15, you've taken time to summarize how some of our old friends would feel about our current personality what would Gramps think of Verge nowadays?

A mixture of horror, pride and pity.
To explain the first and last, he never wanted Verge to develop into a battle-hardened killer. For the timid and pacifistic Drimogemon to have become such a *great warrior* is a tragedy in of itself. The *Verge* he knew has more or less been killed and replaced by something wrong.
However... on the other side of that coin, he'd be glad that at east Verge has become strong as is living up to his ideals in a fairly practical manner.
In comparison, Gnaw is mostly happy about Verge's changes, barring Verge being stronger than himself. Still feels like he's more or less a different mon and misses that little Drimogemon, not that he'd ever admit it.
Of course the inverse to all of this is to ask how some of the mon we met would have reacted to pre-massacre Verge.... a large number of the cast as things are have only known Verge in his comparatively menacing/grim post village state or even in his Gryzmon form after all.
