There is variance in size within between species. LadyDevimon go from 8 feet to 11. Repulsa was on the furthest end of the scale, this LadyDevimon in particular is actually on the low end.
Sparks meanwhile was already pretty big for his species (half a head taller than your *average* Wizardmon) and that carried over the FlameWizardmon. Data Splicing boosted him further to six feet.
So there's only about two feet of height difference here.
In other news heh. This mon is never going to live down being punched down by a FlameWizardmon.... it could totally be used in universe now that I think about it.

I will be honest, with all the words of protect, being a loyal friend and tanking shit. Yggdrasil got a pretty neat Craniumon for the Royal Knights.
In my eyes Yggdrasil actions are to create this server Craniumon or Alphamon (if Verge is worthy enough of getting the leadership as Mega) but all depends to Yggdrasil being lucky enough to the point that Verge doesn't end on another evolution path. Sure if he gets Mystymon as Ultimate there is a big chance of his Mega being Dynasmon because apparently, he is the magic/high programming specialist of the Royal Knights apart of Alphamon himself.
[] There may be three Ultimates lined up in opposition, but so what? You have Sparks. It's time to play to your strengths, fight together and show these Gloaming assassins what real teamwork can accomplish. You are a shield, he is the weapon.
===
Three versus two… Zehahaha. Perfect.
You crank your head left to share an excited grin with Sparks. The FlameWizardmon's thoughts clearly being identical to your own.
"How bout it Verge?" Your friend*asks*, with a lazy twirl of his matchstick. "Wanna show these *stalkers* what a couple real heroes can do?" You snort at the question. He already knows the answer, there's only one thing you can reply.
"Aye."
WereGarurumon charges your way, his healed legs easily propelling him across the air in little more than a blur. The disappearance of his injuries aren't difficult to ascertain, by your guess, he must have used at least one of Agent Karatenmon's discs to heal himself. Tucking that little tidbit away, you shift your stance slightly to better intercept the angry Ultimate. He sprints directly towards your chest, moving as if to go for a direct strike. But you've fought him before, he knows that this tactic doesn't work.
So when the Ultimate shifts course a moment before impact to leap at Sparks, you're ready... as is the spell-caster currently standing on your shoulder. A orb of blazing azure is already darting out into the enemy's path.
"Watch-" The LadyDevimon begins to shout in warning, but is cut off by a sharp *Snap*. That is all it takes to trigger the spell (though you're pretty sure the gesture was just him being dramatic) causing it to erupt directly in the wolf-digimon's face. Your left paw thrusts out a nanosecond later, tagging the WereGarurumon's chest with a golden spike and sending the slightly singed soldier soaring skywards.
"-out..." She finishes lamely. "Those fireballs blow up." Her ally comes to a stop several moments later and shoots the womon a half-hearted glare.
"Gr... you could have told me that earlier greenhorn." WereGarurumon grumbles, *climbing* back to his feet. "Now for Daemon's sake! Start attacking!"
They are doing a lot of talking. Wasteful in battle. For them. I am using my time productively, as is Sparks... I think.
"Right! Yes Garurumon!" Those words get a growl out of the clearly older Ult, forcing the LadyDevimon to hastily correct herself. "Um, I mean WereGarurumon! WereGarurumon!... Darkness Wave!"
You immediately pivot towards the stream of red bats and cross both arms, forming a solid barrier against the projectiles. Most bounce harmlessly off the material of your war-gauntlets, but a section of the thick stream manages to strike at outer forelimbs, nipping away little pieces of the limbs. The Nanomon quite logically uses this opportunity to strike while you're distracted, unleashing another volley of missiles while you're busy blocking. Unfortunately for him, you have a very competent sorcerer on standby,
"Blink Breeze!" His summoned, scorching wind assails the myriad of projectiles and redirects them between your legs. You hear the sound of an explosion half a moment later... along with a pained yelp as WereGarurumon is made victim of his ally's attacks.
"Watch where you're shooting those damned things!"
"Affirmative. So long as the FlameWizardmon lives the chances of a successful hit are zero, point-two percent"
"Point-two percent? Tch, I feel insulted. Magic Game."
"Blink breeze? H-how? You're a FlameWizardmon!" The fallen angel accuses, pointing a finger your friend's way. "You-you shouldn't be using a Wizardmon's abilities!"
"Hehe, what can I say?" The programmer shrugs, his voice undeniably smug. "I'm just that good."
... can we fight now?
"Gr... this isn't working! Get your ass into melee with me greenhorn... but to stay clear from the mutant's claws! They're not right."
My claws are not right?... that makes little sense, how can they be wrong? They are powerful melee weapons.
"Mhrm, come nice and close Floozie. After all I'm *just a wimpy spellcaster* right?" This manages to get a flush out of the womon who finally charges in. By your guess that must be a quote of some kind, likely related to their last fight. However before you can continue on with that thought, a powerful sensation draws your attention elsewhere.
Left!
"Garuru Kick!"
Instinctively your left war-gauntlet lashes out, meeting the incoming blow with a heavy backhand. The two forces cancel each other out with near perfection, leaving the enemy hanging for a crucial second. During which Sparks activates his trap.
A thick white gel explodes off your paw in a burst of smoke, and washes over the Ultimate, covering him from head to toe is boiling wax. You start after the blinded enemy, ready to hit him with another jab... but are sadly interrupted as the second opponent comes into view. The fallen angel lunges at your head with speed only slightly inferior to that of the WereGarurumon, her monstrous left arm warping into a lance. Just like the one that deleted Agnimon.
There's not enough time to dodge, or even raise your right fore-limb up for an interception. But the surge of wrath, does leave you with one rather pleasing option.
Sharp Fangs.
Her lance crosses the last few feet in a blur-only to halt suddenly as glowing fangs snap shut around the tip. The LadyDevimon's body on the other paw continues on to lightly smack you across the side of your face.
"-Oof." Though judging by the grunt of pain, it does more damage to her than it does you. "Wha-when did...you..." The enemy combatant trails off into little more than terrified whimpering under your growl of pure hate. Another trio of explosions ring out in quick succession from your left, followed by a muffled curse.
Despite the clear fear on display she manages to dodge away as you open your mouth and change targets. The *stalker* barely managing to avoid being chomped in half.
"Poison!" The panicked ult exclaims, releasing a dark purple miasma from her wings. You want to chase after her, but it would mean going through the toxic mist, plus she is faster than you. It's difficult, but you manage to reign in the anger and instead step back to avoid the newly made cloud. Though you needn't have bothered, more wind brushes it aside, once again aiming towards the agile wolf mon.
This time, he manages to spin around the redirected attack. But between miasma's width and wax hardening around his body, your enemy is slowed just enough for you to lift an arm and position it slightly to the left.
"Crescent Dawn!" Your war-gauntlet comes scything down and he unsurprisingly shoves off the air to the direction that comes with the least chance of him being torn in half. Letting your claws dig into the ground and putting him in the path of your snapping jaws. WereGarurumon desperately shoots his limbs out to halt you oncoming teeth and snarls as the weapons bite into his flesh. Yet the wax-covered ultimate manages to halt your attack cold despite that, preventing himself from being crushed. Two more detonations ring out in the background, but are ignored as you struggle against the much smaller mon's power.
While smaller than you the wolf digimon is nearly as strong if not stronger than your current self. In a direct clash of blows your sheer weight triumphs, but when pitting his body against just your jaw there's little contest. He drives your jaw apart painfully and lets loose a victorious howl, ready to snap your muscles completely.
Just as the two of you expected.
"Hiya." The WereGarurumon freezes mid-motion as Sparks points the crackling blue end of his matchstick at his utterly defenseless body. Realizing what's about to happen, your enemy's eyes widen and he tries to extricate himself from your mouth. But a surge of powerfloods your muscles with greater strength. Suddenly it's all he can do not to be crushed. "Greater Sparkling Thunder!" Purple lightning lances straight through the soldier's mid-section nearly tearing the unfortunate digimon in half. In turn, the flinch of pain and the foe's ensuing weakness lets you easily force your teeth shut with a rather horrifying *crunch*.
In that moment you learn that wax and fur? Both taste awful. You can't spit the now crippled mon out fast enough.
"Stun Whip!" The previously occupied LadyDevimon's attack catches you completely off guard, striking the back of your head and turning everything a painful white. And then she stabs her arm at Sparks.
You can't see the attack coming. But at the moment that doesn't matter, you push past the paralyzing effect and twist your upper body, letting the tip sink into the back of your left shoulder. She pulls the weapon free as if to stab again, but the second attack is met by a dull *thud* as Sparks's matchstick parries the blow aside, before being followed up by a softer *whump* as he smacks the fallen angel away.
"Heh, nice."
Your neck rotates just in time to see the womon's eyes widen at the sight of another approaching fireball.
"N-not agai-"
*Snap*
The LadyDevimon finds herself launched away, now sporting even more burns than ever before. You ready yourself to chase after the stunned figure, intent on ending the vile foe-then hear a familiar growl.
"Half Moon Kick!" A blade of air and energy carves deep into your side, meaning that WereGarurumon has somehow managed to crawl back into the fight.
How?... the discs!
You whirl around, ripping your claw out from the dirt and dragging free the Crusher Bone that had been created during their first bout of conversation and toss it at the shaky wolf Ultimate. The airborne mon's claws lash out, with just enough speed and strength to smack the projectile away.
Unfortunately (for him) the trio of azure orbs trailing behind it are decidedly not in any way effected. Sparks doesn't bother snapping this time.
The ensuing explosion tosses your half-healed opponent into the cabin, breaking through another of the walls. But your friend doesn't stop there, before the enemy can even come to a stop he thrusts the red end of his matchstick towards the building and roars.
"Boost: Fire Cloud!"
A nearly blinding firestorm blasts out from the tip of his weapon and rushes towards the *safehouse* in a flash. You watch fifty feet of azure inferno roil over the wooden building, reducing it all to ash before continuing on into the ancient jungle beyond. Dozens if not hundreds of trees fall in the empowered spell's wake as everything caught in it, even the ground is reduced to ash. It's doubtful that he survived that, you're not sure you could have survived something like that.
"WereGarurumon! Y-you deleted him!"
"Yeah... heh." The exhausted caster weakly mocks, sitting down on your pauldron. "Hey Verge, that's two down... right?"
"I believe s-"
Above him!
A shimmering something lunges down at the unaware wizard, nearly invisible tendrils reaching out to grasp at his head. There's no hesitation, you thrust your snout towards the shape and-
"Nano Crash!"
Pain.
You can feel the foreign virus latch onto your flesh and fur, hungrily eating away at the data, breaking it down. Hair, collapses, flesh shaves away. It goes deeper, seeking the most vital of your processes.
And then it hits bone.
I Am A Shield. I Will. Not. Falter!

The pain stops, as does the spread of Nanomon's virus.

What little remains of your friend's energy is poured directly into the Ultimate's(?) inner workings. Its two long arms go limp, ita right eye goes dark-and then the machinery encased in glass explode.
"Sneaky bastard." Sparks growls, ripping the departing mon's data away and into his body. Several discs fall from the deceased digimon's data, but Sparks uses a little bit of wind to direct them into your fur. You meanwhile slump down, feeling exhausted from the strain of... that ability triggering again.
He can have the data... that foe was a coward. Unworthy... and Sparks needs to regain energy after all that magic.
With two enemies defeated all that's left is the LadyDevimon, whom is currently staring at you both, her red eyes wide with an understandable fear.
"Hrm..." Sparks muses, leveling his focus in her general direction. "Should we go three for three?"
"Yes." You growl without pause, causing the Ultimate to flinch. She whirls about and flees the battlefield. Cowardly, contemptible behavior, but nothing less than you expected from her kind. The womon spares a glance over her shoulder, red eyes filled with terror as Sparks gathers energy in his focus.
But instead of blasting the fallen angel Sparks shrugs and lowers his wand, letting the moment pass. A second later, she reaches full speed and leaves the range of his magic, escaping. You glance at Sparks in confusion, not understanding why.
She wasn't fleeing in an erratic pattern, his lightning spells are fast and accurate surely he could have clipped one wing to slow her down? Then we could have-
Your attention is rather abruptly torn away by the feeling of an enormous swelling power surging to life in the sky. You have a sinking feeling it's not Beat.
"Sparks... Make ready. This battle has yet to end."
"Shit."
===Authors note: This snippet took me a while! Lots'O stuff! I hope ya'll enjoy the teamwork between Sparks and Verge. They're getting pretty damn good at it. Next Snippet does revolve around Beat. He's getting his rematch... for good or ill.

"Affirmative. So long as the FlameWizardmon lives the chances of a successful hit are zero, point-two percent"
You know, their lack of teamwork REALLY shows here.
The tactically correct counterplay here is for Nanomon and LadyDevimon to make their AoE ranged attacks at once from different directions so we can only counter one, then WereGarurumon takes advantage of the blinding to backstab in melee.
"Point-two percent? Tch, I feel insulted. Magic Game."

Heh. To be fair the whole feinting thing didnwork last time. If only because of the speed difference. He didn't factor in that Sparks was 110% bullshit.
Actually no. FlameWizardmon are *Supposed* to be purely specialized in fire evocation. The champion variant doesn't get blink breeze or magic game. Sparks learned the theory behind each spell though and mastered it. So it carries through.
The LadyDevimon lost a melee fight with a one armed FlameWizardmon, while her ranged attacks proved to be more effective than his melee attack in causing damage.
The idea was that they'd be able to overwhelm Verge in melee together since the ranged option wasn't working well. (Sparks was redirecting the missiles, and hitting WGarurumon with explosions)
And *Greenhorn* is never going to live losing to Sparks down is she? Hehe.
It makes sense... Verge's straight is getting to the point that he could theoretically give an 'Average' Ultimate like a Weregarurumon trouble assuming they weren't specialized in combat.
