Actually having a useful tanky spell is going to be great. Healing is good and all, but being able to Tank is something we can't pass up.

[X] Stay at the mansion with your wards for some playtime and maybe a little digging. Just try your best to relax after everything that's happened and do some bonding.

There's also a freaking shop of all things near the opposite side of the room from the stairs. It's closed at the moment, but the signs seem to imply it's selling diet supplements and training aids in the form of body weights. The very cheapest of the latter group is three thousand bits.
Sorry for the double post, but I thought it should be brought up that we don't know what'll be on offer at the gym shop yet. Though I'm looking forward to seeing what's on offer there, now that we'll have the cash to make proper use of it.

With lunch over, Ardat leaving and Pidmon busy telling tales to the rookies, you find yourself without much to really do. While just spending the rest of the day playing with your wards to relax is very tempting, the familiar weight of your bag reminds of another matter that needs dealt with.
Namely, turning the loot you'd gained in the fortress into bits. Which in turn would free up some space in your bag. Initially you're a bit unsure of who you could possible sell it all to given you've never been to any of the towns stores, but then you realize that there's a merchant in town you already know.
Thankfully the simple act of asking Frigimon if Agent Greymon is still in town bears fruit, and she's able to point you towards where he's set up behind the Blessed Host Trading post.
You think the snowwomon and make to head off, then pause for a moment to consider your wards.
"Um hey, do you guys want to...Come along?"
"I shall follow your will" Warren nods, which you think means yes (?)
"Hiss!" Scourge leaps up onto your arm, retaking his place on your shoulder. Grip tentatively nods once, the leaps up to take your other shoulder. The largest of your rookies flashes an envious glance towards his brothers, but refuses to join them. Which is just as well, you don't think he'd even fit on your head anymore.
In turn this realization brings up another, one you find to be a little funny. Back when you'd first digivolved to a rookie you hadn't been much larger than Scourge or Grip, perhaps even been the same size. Warren is in even larger, perhaps almost up there with Gnaw, well in terms of length at least.
You're glad that you've grown so much, imagining yourself to be the same size as Dem-Dokugumon is just weird.
On your brief journey through town, Warren keeps stoically to your left side in what you think might be some sort of attempt to cover your blindspot. Scourge on the other paw uses his vantage point to heckle any other rookies passing. Grip just kind of hugs on tightly to your fur and doesn't make trouble.

When you reach the Agent he's just finishing up a talk with a Tyranomon, you're not wholly certain, but it might be one of the champions you previously met in Gorimon's wrestling class. The large red dinosaur lets loose and unhappy growl and turns away, stomping past you and away
"Hehe, Dinosaurry that I don't have what you were digging for. Have a Jurassic day!" Greymon chuckles, before sending you a friendly wave. "Hello there, I see you're just crawling with…" The large champion trails off clearly not having through the end of his pun through then slumps in defeat. "How are you doing Verge, keeping out of trouble I hope?"
"Erm… yes?"
"That's great!~" The Merchant replies, stretching the second word for some reason. "It's a good thing that you came when you did drimogemon, I won't be here much longer. I've already put in a request through the trading post for an escort back to Hub City"
"Ah, I uh, see then"
Hub City… That sounds familiar.
"Ever since Sorcerymon went and got himself extinct, I've had a larger workload." The dinosaur grumbles sadly. "Didn't interact with him much, but I miss him. Revolvmon inspired dialogue and all"
...Sorcerymon.
You nod along sadly with his words, silently staring down at the ground as memories come flashing back to the surface. The scar on your face briefly throbs with pain, and your remaining eye narrows into a glare. You will be avenged
Greymon forces himself to laugh once more gaining your attention then shakes his massive had.
"He'll be missed at Alt city, but don't worry. I'm sure the host will make whoever put him in the dirt dinosaurry" Repulsa. Count.
You stare heatedly through the yellow merchant for a few seconds before a hiss from Scourge brings you back to reality.
All three of your wards are lined up in front of the Greymon's wagon eyeing various items intently. Warren stares vividly at a red bandanna interlaced with a few streaks of black, but slumps a bit as if realizing he has no real way of buying it. (300 bits). Scourge hisses happily at a small, very wicked looking knife with a green hilt, and you wince upon seeing the price. (1500 bits). Grip is hesitantly reading the cover of one of the few remaining books. Something called "The Tenants Of Crafting" (1000 bits)
After a second of adding up the math, you come to the conclusion that in total it would cost 2800 bits. Which is a not an insubstantial portion of your current wealth (6200)
Several seconds of thinking it over you:
=== (Choose One)
[] Buy the items as gifts.
[] Don't buy the items.
===
From there you go on to open your bag to show the eccentric Greymon your looted crystals, in an attempt to see if he's willing to buy them.
His eyes warp into veritable saucers at the sight, and he opens his mouth to say something, but cuts himself off with a cough. The merchant excuses himself for a moment, fuddles with one of the bags in his wagon and pulls out a round weighing scale.
You waste no time in pouring out the contents of your bag (excepting for personal items of course) into the metal bowl at the top, but notice something odd. The agent is eyeing your bag in what you can only describe as an envious manner.
After a few seconds of checking the numbers Greymon nods to himself and picks up onto the larger chunks between his claws to examine it personally. The champion mentions that these are very popular in the city states, and any other large enclaves of civilized digimon. Even the Blessed Host uses them despite them, despite the crystals technically being a strain of virus.
Never one to mind learning new information, you listen intently as he explains that the materials work great as power/fuel sources, considering that they're essentially very dense solid forms of energy. Machine digimon in particular adore them for the temporary power boosts they can provide in both physical and processing power.
Though perhaps the strangest aspect he mentions is that they're not bad tasting either. Apparently he knows a few chefs that actually use them in recipes. He mentions that they one last more recreational use, but then laughs awkwardly and refuses to explain what that is supposed to mean.
When he's done talking Greymon apologies for going on for so long, then offers you a total of 12 thousand bits for the crystals. While you're still reeling from the sheer quantity of bits, Greymon adds in that he's willing to double that if you're willing to throw in your satchel.
You openly gawks at the offer, but find yourself immediately refusing despite the material gain. It was Gramps gift to you, the last item you really have to remember him by. Even if he'd offered you a hundred thousand bits you still wouldn't take the offer.
Greymon grumbles at your response, but forks over a couple chits holding his payment in bits and then proceeds to stuff the crystals into a large sack.
With the main business done, you look over the Merchants sparse remaining wares, but there isn't anything you're really interested in. It's not like you need any knives or tools, and Pidmon always carries all the camping gear so it's not like you need to buy anything like that.
So you say your goodbye to the cheery merchant and head back to the mansion. From there the last portion of the day proceeds as fairly normal. You play fight with your wards for a bit (which is actually a little painful now that they're rookies as well) dig a bit with Warren, then read them all bedtime story.
Ardat returns with Sparks late during the night, but strangely enough Beat isn't with them. The exhausted Sparks mentions that "The prick said he needed to take care of something" shortly before throwing himself on a futon to sleep.
Considering the recent news you wonder what that something could be, but shrug it off in favour of studying.
Finally managing to cast the flame Shroud spell is strangely satisfying. After all, it was the most complicated spell you've attempted to date, and the fact that you've actually learnt how to make it work is exhilarating. Of course having fires on his claws and nose is in of itself neat, especially since the heat is being reflected away from his body
Before you finally go to sleep, you figure that you'll work on Frame Reinforce next. It should be a simpler spell to learn, and being tougher sounds very useful in fights.
=== Planning!:
Right so! The next two days are going to be some R&R before the next mission. Verge is going to have four slots per day to do things such as train, socialize and study with 1 guaranteed study session each night.
Verge is only able to train a maximum of three times per day, he'd refuse to train anymore. He also cannot train the same state twice in a row. Strength/Strength/Agility won't work, but Strength/Agility/Strength would be fine.
Now for social options, They're rather simple. It's a matter of picking hang out with X digimon. It is possible to hang out with this selection:
[] Ardat: 25% High Programming increase rate and ???
[] Sparks: 50% High Programming increase rate.
[] The Wards: Increase digging skill.
[] Beat: ???
[] Pidmon: Sparring + ???
It is possible to add in other options like buying the Wards gym passes.
Verge now has 12,000 bits plus either 3400 or 6200 depending on whether buying the wards gifts wins or not.
Buying each Demi-Dokugumon a pass requires one thousand bits a piece (3,000 in total)
Verge at this stage needs champion tier training weights, which he could buy from the gyms shop for 8,000 bits. They come in three types, agility, strength, endurance, and function to give one extra stat point (before multipliers) per day when worn.
Supplements (champion level) cost 400 bits per *meal* but can be bought in bulk for a discount 3 thousand bits for 10 days worth. They work much like Sorcerymon's special food from the prologue, raising 2 physical stats by one point (before multipliers) per day when eaten.
[] Buy Supplements
-[] 10 (3000 bits)
-[] Write in
===
Authors Note: Right so time for planning! I really don't expect very many votes for this, but I'm not going to kill the pacing by spending like a week RL going over the next couple days in quest.
Blegh sorry if the second half is more wonky, update kind of fought me.

Okay, let's say we go all-in. We can only realistically buy one set of weights. And I'm very much in favor of buying the stuff for the wards.
So, to summarize:
Gifts for the boys: 2,800
Gym memberships for the boys: 3,000
Champion-level training weights (Agility is my preference): 8.000
10-day supply of supplement meals: 3,000
Total coasts: 16,800
Leaving us with 1400 Bits afterwards.
Just remember, those meals and weights mean we can get that much more out of simply being on the move when we go on missions again.
[X] Plan Work and Play
-[X][Day 1 Morning] Fortitude
-[X][Day 1 Noon] Sparks
-[X][Day 1 Afternoon] Beat
-[X][Day 1 Evening] Strength
-[X][Day 2 Morning] Agility
-[X][Day 2 Noon] Wards
-[X][Day 2 Afternoon] Pidmon
-[X][Day 2 Evening] Wrestling
This is a generally mixed thing. Spend time with some friends while going to the gym for some workout. Also as it was pointed out Verge won't be able to use the gym once traveling so we'd best make use of it while we can.
Now for the people involved I chose Sparks and the Wards for fun and relaxing, since all work and little play can be a bit stressful. Than Beat and Pit for some spars since leveling fighting skills would be nice and to see how Beat is after Drop and Drac left.
Edit: Also here's the shopping part.
