I mean, Parasimon is only a Mega on technicality. I suppose no one would recognize it as such without some careful examination, and we've already destroyed the only one here.
Funny thing is. If Verge had chosen not to destroy it, he'd have pretty much spent the next minute or so *running* away from it while trying to figure out a way to contain it.

While also not letting physical contact happen.

When Malkimon arrived she's have been a little baffled by the sight of Verge doing… basically this:

She would have found it quite amusing.
Was re-reading and saw this. First hints of the Baihumon potential stirring?
Not a first hint, that would be Verge's metallic Crusher Bone.
Even then you need someone weak enough to infect, strong enough to make use of and durable enough to withstand parasimon removing its limits.

Most bodies would fall apart fairly quickly
High fortitude and endurance compared to other stats is a must, though unique biology ala Gogmamon is a big help too.
Yeah the parasite isn't subtle and Verge is kinda well connected. That shit wouldn't fly.

And even if he wasn't most of our ability comes from our skills and spells. Things that wouldn't be replicated 100%.

I think this was just him trying to knock us out of bracket. Now he's probably hedging his bets that we will not break ranks and kill repulsa
As the fight went on Parismon did end up using some of Gogmamon's inherent skill and experience, albeit only after a short struggle. At the very start it was basically just playing around, then *got serious* by busting out the basic combat techniques it *learned*.

As a side note, ParisGogmamon would have been an entirely different beast by the tournament's end. Just one tough fight made its skill evolve hugely. A grand finalist version... would be more like a Mega of a decent skill.
Astamon hasn't lost anything, gained a lot of info on a possible up and coming Mega, and if he can play his cards right might even get said mega provisionally on his side should he keep semi-cordial relations with Bulwark.
To be honest, this is still a loss for Astamon. ParisGogmamon was a significant investment, and Verge didn't actually show that much off. Mantra Chant doesn't have a visual tell, and neither did his minor use of Meditation Cure. Also, you can't really sense through dimensions without special bullshit so the most Verge really revealed was the raw power to stand toe to toe with Gogmamon, and thorse two armor piercing techniques.

The *camera* (viewing spells) cut out when Verge's aura went Baihumon, so no one saw Tekkousou either.

Funny thing is, if Verge had chosen skill, people would have seen him end the fight in spectacular fashion. Little spoiler, but it would have been Verge combining several techniques with a certain strike.

And in doing so, break through the three rotations.
Well he certainly wishes we'd been grabbed by Count at least, I don't think he quite realized how good we were until this moment.
Truth.
Well, better than being infected at least
It could have tried to infect Verge. The desire and wrath corrupted, double natured, AVALON bearing mon complete with a fully functioning mental guardian.

After this showing, is there anyone left in the tournament that we need to worry about?

As wasn't Parismon the most directly powerful so far?
There's still whatever Malkimon and Astamon's plans for throwing the tournament are to worry about. Not to mention Ciel and her two lunkheads. And we still need to deal with Warren's Chikarax issue before it goes critical. We also need to worry about how Malkimon plans to enact her revenge on Astamon now that she knows who actually almost killed Verge.

Frankly Malkimon is the most dangerous part of this whole mess because she's unstable. And she gives absolutely no shits about anyone except Verge. Except she doesn't even really care about him, she cares about Vergil. And if she gets tired enough of Verge insisting that he has a family, she may decide that she needs to get rid of this attachment of his. Because she's also a huge hypocrite.

First Match Minor Interlude: Motivating A Prince
Aegiochusmon, the last prince of Iliad, and heir to Jupiter himself… was clenching his teeth in utter fury. His eyes were locked onto the viewing screen, and more specifically the mutant mongrel that had played such a part in bringing him low.

His older sister's "ooh's' and "aaah's" about her paynim associate's *Dadmon* only made that emotion burn all the brighter.

The first moments of his match had been amusing, seeing that buffon of a beast take a hit and be flung away. A small part of the rightful retribution that he oh so deserved. Only fitting that a living weapon be the one to defeat its fellow monster.

Then the battle had started in earnest, and that abominable paynim had done the unthinkable… this *Brutal Brawler* had matched him.

It was an impossible, unfathomable, utterly unthinkable occurrence. He who'd been personally tutored by Mars on the skills of war, He who had the data of Jupiter running through his veins… was now a mere equal in skill to a rejected experiment, the mutant of some backwater, primitive server.

Yet he saw the paynim dance around that sloppy golem's paltry strikes, then counter in exactly the correct manner. There was no denying reality.

And within his righteous, godly fury… another thought crystalized.

Aegiochusmon found himself rising up, ignoring the cries of Minervamon as he left the match to play out. He'd been too lax within uncle's home, and watching the match come to its obvious conclusion would be pointless.

It was time he supposed, to continue preparing for his proper rematch. In time, both the paynim beast and its traitorous mongrel of a wizard would taste the fury of Olympus. Of that, he would make sure.

Well I'm sure his uncle appreciates him getting that reality check. Same for DinoTigermon.

It probably won't curb his ego much, if at all though.

My god... we actually forced Mr. Prince to get off his ass and train. DinoTigermon will thank us for that! Deimos.... not so much.

I can imagine the other competitors running a conspiracy board to try to figure out what they're facing.

First Match Minor Interlude: An Enraptured Disciple
"Yay-yay-yay! Smash him to bits Dadmon!"

Deimos observed the match playing out before him in stunned silence, too enraptured to care that Xia's wing was smacking him in the head. Even the wretched heartbreak stemming from Ciel's abandonment of their date paled before the sight taking place before him.

The Aegiomon had been downright terrified for his sensei when Gogmamon stomped into the arena. Even without Qi sensing, he'd been able to pick out that Sensei's new opponent wielded strength akin to PileVolcamon or MetalEtemon.

He'd wanted to try and stop the match then and there, Sensei for all his skill wasn't, couldn't be a match for such a foe. The gap in their abilities was simply too great. Verge being caught by that monster's first haymaker had only reinforced that belief.

In a way he had been right, just… not in the way he'd expected.

Not only had Sensei avoided the next such attack, he'd countered it without suffering so much as a scratch. Then his teacher had done it again, then a second time, then he'd kept doing it.

It was impossible, unfathomable to the comprehension. But his teacher was predicting Gogmamon's every movement with one hundred percent accuracy, then reacting accordingly with a timing and efficiency that *Boy* could only describe as perfection. The way his mentor moved was so... beautiful.

Doubt had still remained however, after all even those exemplary strikes and the use of Lady Ardat's corrosive winds were failing to deal real damage. Surely Sensei would be worn down eventually, or be struck by a lucky blow.

Only when Verge stood his ground and halted the next mountain severing strike did the realization hit Deimos. His teacher had never been worried about the match. Not from the start, and not now.

Why?

"Erase Claw!"

Because as a Martial Artist, Sensei was on another level entirely, one few mon would ever even think of reaching. His mentor possessed the skill, and wide library of techniques necessary to win before the battle had even begun.

And as the enraptured Deimos watched his teacher begin taking the far more powerful digimon apart, he felt something stir within his core.

Without thinking, the Aegiomon fell back in his chair and started laughing, a tear coming to his eye.

Magnificent, so… those were the heights he needed to surpass.

Guess Aegiochusmon and *boy* are more similar then they know, considering they more or less had the same response to Verge's match.

Man, they would both hate that won't they?

Boy at least has been motivated to continue his training... it is yet ti be seen if Deimos will follow through as well however.

It'd be another blow to his pride and reality check if Dinotigermon revealed that Verg did the original difficulty of the training with no complaints.

Also Verg is inspire multiple people today.

This Match is the perfect example of Versatility and its usage in combat. Verge is fighting somehow who trumps him in nearly every stat, and he wins with little to no difficulty cause he has dozens of technqiues that can give him an edge.

Sure, he could probably be Mega level by now if he focused on Pure Stats, but even Mega's can be killed with time, and Verge is proving his worth as both a Potential Knight and Sovereign.

Yggdrazil, the next generation of Rookies are gonna be Op with him teaching them.
