XP Analysis.

Assuming a linear growth rate... we'd reach Goddess Gold's base damage at level 1500 of our Purifier Beam (Assuming nothing else boosts our base stats).

XP Wise that'd be somewhere around... uh, 11 million XP.

So here's hoping we get crap tons of XP killing Demon Lords or other skills that boost our stats. Otherwise lol, we're never going to get there.

Good news is we'd surpass her magic modifier.

Assuming level 10 is where we'd get our first 'bonus' or whatever extra for leveling up a skill, we'll need 550 xp per skill to get there.

Question GM

Double the base power of the Purifier Beam.
Does this mean that our Purifier Beam, including the damage increase we get on level up is doubled?

I.E we'd only need to reach level 750 to equal Gold's base damage? Or does that just mean +10 damage?

Now then my current XP plan, is...

Purifier Beam: Extension
-50xp
Double the base power of the Purifier Beam.

Flight Boost
-25xp
Allows Solid Core to create platforms on which to push off for aerial combat.

Solid Core: Iron
-100xp
Adds a resilience Modifier to base stats. Gants Ability: Solid Core: Armor Level 1.

-175 xp = 80 xp

Level Purifier Beam up to 4 (-60 xp)
+15 to Magic Modifier
+15 (Or 30) to Base Damage
Level Celestial Severance up to 2 (-10 xp)
+???
Level Flight up to 2 (-10 xp)
+???

It'll give us more info on what stats CS and Flight Increase and also spend all our xp.

The Echo Skill probably means that our Beam would leave behind an Echo of equal or lesser damage.

So....what does Unstoppable and Echo do?

I recall unstoppable being mentioned in the personal notes section of the data mine, but I'm on a phone so I can't quote it, no clue about Echo though beyond what can be inferred from the name.
The actual effects of extra abilities like Unstoppable and Echo I'll be leaving to interpretation through in-character understanding. 'Personal Notes' are your character's actual personal notes regarding the MG community and her personal interpretations of what does what exactly.

I got the brilliant idea to have the Data Mine be like a personal device your character carries around to look stuff up with and make notes on what she learns. So what goes into it might not be completely accurate, and will automatically update as the quest goes on and your character finds new stuff.

So here's hoping we get crap tons of XP killing Demon Lords or other skills that boost our stats. Otherwise lol, we're never going to get there.
Demons lords specifically give a metric shit ton of XP. The problem is that they're obscenely difficult fights and your likely not going to have any kind of backup during them.

Other than that, you can get XP from a whole slew of different places. I'm wanting to keep them mostly secret until someone stumbles across them, I might give hints, but that'll be on a case by case basis.

Does this mean that our Purifier Beam, including the damage increase we get on level up is doubled?

The Purifier Beam will increase damage output by 50% per level rounded up. The Extension Upgrade will double what's currently there. The later you wait to buy it, the more powerful the boost, and the price wont go up. But that's how that works.

For general EXP I'll let you guys vote on what to spend it on, or fight to the death over.

The Echo Skill probably means that our Beam would leave behind an Echo of equal or lesser damage.
All Bonus Abilities are hilariously Broken no matter what level they are. Again, I'll leave it up to you guys to work out, but will give hint on a case by case basis depending on what you learn in-character.

When the exact effects of a Bonus Ability are confirmed by Solid Core I'll write it up in her personal notes and make an announcement.

That's quite a bit more complicated than the initial example gave.

So 50% dmg boost per level means we'll see growth like

+5, = 15, + 7.5 = 22.5, +11.25 = 33.75

Which means that we'll grow faster than I thought damage wise. And of course the 'double upgrade' is something we should spend only when we start hitting like level 200 or something. Or the level cap or whatever. Changes a lot of thoughts here though.

All Bonus Abilities are hilariously Broken no matter what level they are. Again, I'll leave it up to you guys to work out, but will give hint on a case by case basis depending on what you learn in-character.

I'm now thinking we should buy this first now lol. As they are 'hilariously broken' at whatever level.

XP wise is 250 'A LOT' or is that just the bit of XP we got for surviving as a scrub?

On another note... uh at level 33 we'll be doing 1 mil + damage at a +50% growth rate. And thus that Double Damage upgrade is worth a bit more than 'a level' at any given point.

So to reach 1 mil damage we'd need... 33*10 = 330 XP + 330*33/2 = 5.4k XP

So showing math means that I guess 250 XP IS a lot because of just how crazy growth would be at a level where we'd spend 150 XP to level up something once.

Edit: Er that was 150 XP from just living through it.. assuming we just 'lived through' another 30 of these demon assaults and K.S'ed Goddess Gold, we'd uh start wrecking stuff fast.

At level 43 we'd be doing um... A Billion + damage.

Edit 2: Actually assuming 'round up' means to take the Ceiling of the result, we'll actually break the 1 mil damage marker at level 31, or with 30 levels worth of XP spent.
To one shot that big demon we just saw would happen at level 24.

Edit 3: I uh was looking at the growth formula not what our actual value would be including said growth formula. Updating later post with right info.

So the later we buy the extension, the more power we get out of it. Kay, that decides that.

Also... I just realized you killed Neptune... ... I think Noire needs to have some words with you. I'll be a few multi Omni-verses that'a way.

I wonder if we'll run into the other little sisters, I don't like Tsunderes but Uni was somehow still adorable despite that.

And if we can ever get some actual casting magic... Maybe Tales of Symphonia? Fairly simple style/structure, could easily make higher tiers, I think... maybe, has Light and Darkness types and even has a Spell named Judgement... which can scale in a few ways to scary effects (the in game base one was only alright since it was random hit area artillery).

Edited for accuracy.

Using the amazing powers of Excel, complete with looking at the right cell column now...

I reveal that at level 29 is when our total damage sum would break 1 million, and at level 31 is when our +dmg would break 1 million.

Either way that growth rate is crazy.

What is our exponent? 2? 3? 4+?

What is our exponent? 2? 3? 4+?

Growth rate is 50% per level rounded up according to the GM's post... so each level = 1.5x the old level in damage.

Which as a exponential growth is fairly good as assuming Goddess Gold's 10 million damage attack is at the upper limit... we can reach right below 10 million at level 32, with 4.7 million damage *2 (via that double damage bonus shop purchase).
So we'd be spending the sum of 10 to 310 xp to get there.

At your level? I think you've answered your own question in your later posts. :V

Your the only one to comment on that. Also, it'll be significant later.

Possible. The CPUs of Neptunia and Gilgamesh aren't the only ones that have expies in this quest. Who you run across Might just surprise you.

I'm pulling a mishmash from a wide collection of sources. A I described in the Data Mine, magic is powered by belief and willpower in this setting. If you believe it's possible, then the only thing holding you back is the will to see it through.

Goddess Gold is the best example there. She has the unshakable belief that she can wipe out a planet in a single blow. A well as the raw willpower to see it happen. The numbers are there to simply give you an idea of how much faith she has in her abilities.

Which as a exponential growth is fairly good as assuming Goddess Gold's 10 million damage attack is at the upper limit... we can reach right below 10 million at level 32, with 4.7 million damage *2 (via that double damage bonus shop purchase).

Magical Growth is theoretically limitless. Humanity, hell even the Fairies, have yet to see a logical cap ever be reached. There are magical beings out there so powerful they create entire universes all the time. But by the time anything gets to that power level they're physically incapable of interacting with lesser existences.

Goddess Gold can still grow stronger. Her growth is different from yours, and takes a ton more experience to pull off, but it's possible. And when she grows, she grows.

Your potential and growth rate are frankly terrifying. But don't forget that GG is considered the most powerful magical girl to ever exist for a reason.

Anyway, in other news I'm closing voting soon to start the next segment.

At level 12 we instagib the Tanks, at level 18 our base damage would surpass Goddess Gold's base damage...

And of course our base damage and magic modifier grow at the same rate. Which is kinda crazy. (I think they grow at the same rate? I'm not really sure what our magic modifier does yet though.)

Of course it doesn't give us any armor or hp, which means that we should probably get the Armor Ability and Flight Boost Ability and level flight + armor twice to figure out what their growth rate is.

So... 255 xp - 125 xp to buy each of them = 130xp left. Then we get two levels in each so -60 xp = 70 xp, then we spend 60 xp in Damage to bring us up to level 4 (35 dmg, 35 base magic) and 10 xp on our spell Celestial Severance. Leaving us with 0 XP.

Then we spend the next bits IC gathering info, seeing if training makes us stronger, ectera. Then we fight the weakest of the weak foes to see how much XP they give.

Then we look at the growth rates of our Weapon / Flying / Armor / Celestial Severance (spend 20 xp in Celestial Severance to finish figuring out it's growth rate...)

And then figure out if there's a decrease in XP as we gain XP...

Then I use Excel ??? profit.

4960. Yay, go partial sums. Woo. (Quick trick, addition of all numbers below X to 1 can be solved by X*(X+1)/2 or 31*(32)/2*10 in this case)

Yep that's what I've been doing in Excel. :D

Your the only one to comment on that. Also, it'll be significant later.
So does that mean if we get shar... faith we can transform again? Or that we need faith to transform at all?

You had lived alone with your elder sister in the house, but you knew she hadn't survived. The leg sticking out from beneath the crushed pickup truck with her favorite keychain hanging out of the only visible pocket was all you needed to know the truth of that.
Bah just a leg and a keychain? Bah this is a magical world. That's no where near enough for conclusive proof death.

Possible. The CPUs of Neptunia and Gilgamesh aren't the only ones that have expies in this quest. Who you run across Might just surprise you.

Well as long as we don't deal with people who go "I win" or have swords that can cut galaxies in half...

Well, as long as her growth rate is just a large flat number we'll out pace her eventually!

At your level? I think you've answered your own question in your later posts. :V

Yep at our level +150 xp for surviving is a lot seeing as how it can be used to buy quite a bit...

Is this what you all want to spend your EXP on?

If so I'll shuffle around the shop and do the growth. Would like confirmation first though.

So does that mean if we get shar... faith we can transform again? Or that we need faith to transform at all?
Your transformation doesn't rely on Faith. Your Faith Affinity does something else entirely in this fic.

It'll be significant in the next update.

Bah just a leg and a keychain? Bah this is a magical world. That's no where near enough for conclusive proof death.
Sadly enough, this is true. But take it as Word of God, she dead.

Well as long as we don't deal with people who go "I win" or have swords that can cut galaxies in half...
Galaxy cutting is a no go. By the time someone reaches that point they're busy with other things.

And... define 'I Win'...

Well, as long as her growth rate is just a large flat number we'll out pace her eventually!
Key word: eventually.

Determinators are the scariest sons of bitches in this setting.

Unfortunately, I don't think Magical Boys are a thing. And that's known so he can't bluff here either. On the other hand if he's around, and we make friends with him, we'll be a Goddess in the next update. :V Just imagine him dropping into Neptunia where belief is power for the Goddesses, yikes.
I'm suddenly not sure what your talking about...

Instant Spiral Nemesis?
nvm this answered it.

Kamina would be so fucking OP in this setting the setting itself would eject him on principle.

I want to spend some points on "Chrisma" if we are able to, mostly to try and get some allies to come with us when we inveitably strike out on our own(temporarily or permanently).

Instant Spiral Nemesis?
Considering Hyperdimension verse literally runs on video game logic... Probably not actually. They can already digitize and outright create matter even if its on a much smaller scale (their own bodies and armor/clothes namely), so the world already accounts for them being able to do that... to a degree anyway. And since its a video game world it would be twisted so they could punch it in the face till it went away even if it did become a risk.

ATM we don't seem to have any CHR stat, mostly this is an exploration purchase, with the intent being to hopefully get us at a high enough power level to farm scrubs to level up enough to farm LVL 2 guys to, repeat until we farm level 5 guys.

Anyway, EXP spending wise, that's a recommended plan, but if you're still introducing skills and stuff, I'm gonna say wait on using any of our XP until the introduction / tutorial and all that are over.

Also Neptune is best girl, I am gravely sad now.

Or Gahaburn it.

That was traumatizing to watch :/
